  1. Agreed! I think he may be a good practice guy!
  2. I quess it is hard to pay big money to new players when you have existing players on your team ready to get paid also. I say pay Al and Jamal and get rid of Bibby and Zaza. If Marvin doesn't play well this year, get rid of him also.
  3. Wow, look at him!!!!! Enjoy your blessing because he will be grown and gone soon!!!
  4. Horford and Smith only averaged 35 min a game last year!! I would say it will be about the same because our team is very interchangable. I think Marvin or Moe may be the one with a reduced role.
  5. I know about the Chris Paul thing no one seems to live down,( Although most publications thought Marvin was the better player) but the only real BIG mistake Billy made to me was when he chose Sheldon Williams with that no.5 pick. Most publications were stunned by that decision. Other than that I think he did a pretty good job. It is so funny how the media can select player then say it was a mistake when the player not picked becomes a Mega star. I wanted Chris Paul myself, but I think Marvin is not that big of a mistake like the media and fans make it out to be.
  6. I agree! I think Boone could grow with the team. He will know his role also! But isn't 2 million a year too much for a third string center.Maybe not I guess!
  7. I think all players deserves any accolade they receive. But I will say I was surprised Al was even in the conversation of being a All-star. I'm happy he was chosen though because it helps our team get recognized and give our players confidence and something to strive for.
  8. Sorry, I meant to give you a +1. How do I correct it?
  9. Wow! 50 years of marriage is truly a blessing. Many more blessed years to you and your wife!
  10. No offense to Woodson, but he didn't have time to develop Acie into a starting point guard because he had to win now. True Acie got hurt, but he never had the oppurtunity to succeed in this league. If Woodson would have stayed with the same pressure to win, you would be saying the same thing about Jeff Teague.
  11. Maybe if he could play the 3, he could back up Marvin because Mo might not be here next season.
  12. You may be on to something here. He know LD"s offence, he is a big guard you need, and he will be cheap. I saw Bull highlights of him and he looked really good. I think he is having bad luck in the NBA right now. I mean who would not have traded him for Jamal. They were already loaded at PG in GS,and the Bulls have a premiere player at PG also. I say Acie would be a great third PG in Atlanta.
  13. That is how he is listed on nba.com. The Hawks page!
  14. Good post! I also think we are inconsistant because our starter looked wore out in the playoffs. I liked Woodson as the coach, but maybe he relied on that starting rotation a little too much. If they could get all the player to be a little fresher come playoff, that could really help. It was good to see everyone healthy though.
  15. Good post. I hope we get Shaq too!
  16. Not much worse than us at 23 in attendance. But, the year before the Hornet ranked 37 out of 122 professional sports teams. They along with the Saint (38) were 1 of 2 teams with this top 40 ranking for small market teams. The other was Pittsburgh with the Steelers(10) and the Peguins(39). I got this info from Bizjournal Rankings.
  17. Yes, the Saint. One thing the Saint have always had were a great owner, great loyal fan, and media coverage. I've been a Falcon fan since 1982 and alway could not believe how a sorry franchise like the Saints had so much support. I didn't find out until recently with there success why. Because that was all New Orleans had. As far as winning Conference championships goes, you got me. But I did find out that the Hawks are 6th all-times as far as playoff appearance go only behind LA, Boston, Phili, Detroit anf NY. So we do have a winning tradition just like the great teams. We just have to take the next step and the media certainly won't help us out.
  18. That's a shame! Like when Charles Barkley said he liked Woodson, but dogged him when he was coach!
  19. Yeah you may be right. I just remember the only newsabout the Hawks were always negative and somehow we have to stop the disrespect.
  20. Red Sox fan have alway support their team, even those they hadn't won a world series in like 50 years. The Braves won their division 15 straight year, went to the world series 3 or 4 times, and finally won one world series, and they can't even get much support. If you don't want to talk about the Red Sox, how about the New Orleans Saint!
  21. Because the media kept harping on the fans think Dominique is to selfish to ever win a NBA championship, just like they did with Jordan. The only difference was Jordan got all the Media hype like LeBron and Dominique was always a afterthought, except by the players. Jordan once said that Dominique was the player he looked at and said, "Wow" but the media never recognized him even in that light. As far as making it far in the playoff, maybe if he had a chance to really gel with the players that we traded for or had consistent coaching, maybe he would have been more sucessful. Jordan had his lumps also in the playoff, but was given a chance to see who he could be sucessful with.
