  1. Well no matter what anyone thinks positively or negatively, Josh Smith started his career as a small forward and has played significant minutes at the 3 spot for 8 years, and that is a fact. He had to gain weight to move to the 4 spot when Marvin came. I think he turned himself into such a good power forward that many can't see him back at the spot he was drafted for. I personally think Josh can play 3,4, and sometimes 5 in certain situations. And that a credit to his versatility.
  2. I've said for a while now he would be a great addition. I think he knows his role now and will provide great energy, excitement, passing and defense. I also think he would be a great compliment to our smaller guard and can play both the 2 or 3.
  3. I guarantee you this, if the mass media (ESPN, TNT with Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith) start talking about how good of a team we are and stop dissing us at every waking moment, I guarantee attendance would go up. I think the Hawks should pay the media for support. That in itself would start the sellouts to come because if people hear positive things about their team, they will get curious and want to see what's going on.
  4. Tyreke is someone we would go after. He would fit in very well in the backcourt because of his passing ability and scoring. Since Sacramento believes he is not living up to expectations but will demand a larger contact, they may just trade him. His numbers are down and they've tried him at various positions last year. I think he needs a change of scenery and will be a elite player in this league. Just work on that jumpshot.
  5. I think we are going to get Tyreke Evans in a sign and trade next season.
  6. True, but that's how it has always been with players wanting to come here and I think Ferry knew that already. But for the first time in history, I've not only heard from fans that we are going in the right direction, but by the experts too. We didn't do good in free agency but no one really though we would anyway. But the majority agree that we are going in the right direction. That's bad around here! That is what changes cultures and that is what attracts players!
  7. IDK about James Harden but I do know OKC can't pay all those players. So one of their top players will not be there unless they take a pay cut. We should also focus on Denver and Utah.
  8. Just like what happened with Danny Manning leaving us the next year(BTW I was so pissed when they traded Dominique for Manning, I was like "For Danny F'ing Manning" LOL).... I still have nightmares about that move.
  9. I don't think the sky is falling either.
  10. Some of the comments I'm reading are true, but it is amazing how everyone seems to have given up just because we didn't get Dwight. Amazing!
  11. Look guys and gals, Orlando has been in the poor house for a long time with Dwight being there and I'm not surprised at all that they just want to rebuild. They didn't want to pay for Horford, Josh, ZaZa, Devin, or any other combination of your players right now because they are pretty much broke. I look at this as a opportunity to start building our team while still winning. It will not be easy and I'm sure that Ferry will make some questionable decisions but we will get to where we need to be sooner than most think. Let's build a culture and atmosphere that will have people wanting to be here. That includes players and fans. The Hawks need to work on their image first if they ever want to be an elite team.
  12. I think we should still try and keep Smoove and let him know how needed he is. We still have a 35-40 win team and just need a few pieces to get to where we need to be. So I said this is a ongoing process and now is the time to start the journey. Since we have to face the reality that not many big names will come here, we have to look at trades and draft picks. We have the tools to do both.
  13. Of the entire list Terrence Williams is the one who has the best chance to go to the next level. The players on every team he's played for love him. For some reason he can't get the coaches to keep him or he's always the odd man out.The coaches in Sacramento raved about his passing and athletic ability, but his attitude must still need adjusting.
  14. I doubt it. I think the players he wants to trade are not due to be traded yet!
  15. I kinda understand where you are going with this, but a few of the players I don't like. I do like Mozgov this year and Bynum next year, but since that eliminates ZaZa, how about we trade him for Mozgov and Corey Brew. Denver is rich in talent but they need a better center to back up McGee and we need a solid 2 or 3 plus a replacement for ZaZa. Mozgov is that athletic center who was a starter for Denver last year, and Brewer is a very good 2 or 3 that of course know Horford very well and has won a NBA championship with Dallas. Now you have Teague, Brewer,Josh, Al, Mozgov and Bynum next year. Josh is better than Gallo at the 3 or 4 so lets not get him. I'd rather keep Smoove for 6yr/90 million.
  16. IDK if he will be or not but whoever we have or may get to coach this team needs to be a great coach for the system we are installing. I don't care if it's Drew, a famous name coach, or a new coach with no head coaching experience. Bottom line is we need the best coach available for the Atlanta Hawks.
  17. I really like Terrence Williams. I have no earthly idea why he can't stay on a team. I've heard about the attitude but damn.... I like him more at the two than the three because of his passing ability.
  18. Has anyone heard much about Korver? I listened to a podcast with him on ESPN Chicago and he didn't sound very keen on coming here. I think it had more to do with him leaving the Bull though, and he did mention getting more PT with the Hawks. And his wife loved the fact they will be in warm climate. Other than that I haven't heard anything.
  19. Blatche does have big contract talent but needs to prove himself as a team player. If I was his agent I would sign a 1yr vet min contact to a up and coming team where he can prove himself. Anderson is another good option but very short term solution because of his age.
  20. I really don't know, but if we have all of these shooters, we have to have one of them in the starting line-up. Either Morrow at the 2 or Korver at the 3. I believe a shooter should be on the floor at all times for spacing. Heck, I would say no to Korver starting! Either we get a starting 3 and put Smoove and 4 and Horford at 5, or put Morrow or Jenkins at 2 and put ZaZa at center.
  21. Well if he goes packing or we get a starter at the 3 position, either Josh is being traded or Al will be playing center this year with ZaZa.
  22. I didn't see anything wrong with Marvin other than him being picked second in the draft which wasn't his fault. He wasn't the savior of our franchise but was a really good glue guy who was accepted his role with class.
  23. Sometime we get caught up on words and phrases to make our topics exciting also. Words like hype, next great, please Ferry can we get him, he would be great for us. We take these words and phrases and assume people are overhyping players, when in reality people just want to help there team out by making suggestion and want there point of view to be correct. I know nothing about this Gee guy, but from what I've heard on this forum he would be a good fit here . But by no means have I gotten the impression people think he will be the next great. But any player on your team you should hope for the best!!!
