Neither Horf nor Smoove nor Craw nor Marvin strike fear into anyone's heart. Those guys are 3rd maybe 4th options. Joe may be a weak first option but at least he's a legit first option. Those two guys that follow him around most every game are there for a reason. They're there because they realize that if this guy gets one on one coverage (even with our best guy), he can destroy us. Isn't that what he did in the playoffs to the mighty Celtics. They tried him one on one with Ray... when he made Ray his b*tch, they tried Paul.. they tried the guy they sent to NO.. they trade everybody except KG and Perk. Teams figured out that they had to double him.

If you want to be frustrated by something, be frustrated that in 7 years, Josh is still trying to shoot threes. Be frustrated that Al still has games where he puts on a dress and disappears. Be frustrated that in Six years, Marvin doesn't know his head from a hole in the ground. Be frustrated that our offense is three point crazy. Be frustrated that since ASG has taken over, we have not run and we're good when we run. Be frustrated by the fact that we have had two assistant coaches who are trying to learn to coach while calling us an "elite" team.

Joe is not the issue. The issue is that we don't have good coaching and we have flawed players who we got from the lottery.

Thats just it man. We're sick and tired of mediocrity. If this means starting over and trying again then so be it. Might as well. This team isnt going anywhere as constructed, with or without Joe Johnson. You know it, I know it, and the whole NBA world knows it. To be honest, I think we'd be just as good with a cheap guy like Matthews as opposed to your avg Joe. Not saying Joe is the entire problem ,but we need him to do a LOT more than what he's been doing to have a chance of being a good basketball team. You cant have a couple of good weeks and then disappear like Marvin for the rest of the year when your're supposedly the "face of the franchise". And imo, Joe's an All-star because the 2 guard spot is weak after D-Wade in the East. I mean, who are they going to select ahead of Joe? J-Rich? Michael Redd? T-Mac? Rip? I mean really. Same with Horford at center. Even though Horford is having an all-star caliber year.

I don't buy this excuse at all. The reason he only had 8 shot opportunities was because he was scared to step up. If you watched the game like the rest of us did, you will notice how many wide open shots he turned down. He was doing his best to channel his inner Marvin while he just watched Amare outplay him. Even Josh with one leg outplayed him.

My real beef is with our 120 million dollar Houdini. Joe has been abysmal for most of the year. He didn't deserve to be an All Star this year and his albatross of a contract is making us look like the biggest laughing stock throughout the whole League. For 120 mil dollars, you are supposed to eat 2nd year players like Landry and Shaun Williams alive. Instead they both outplayed him on both ends of the floor.

I'm just speechless about this franchise and tired of Atlanta always being the laughing stock. What have you seen from Teague other than solid defense? You can't deny that Bibby was 10x more effective on the offensive end. Bibby knew how to pnr with Al and He was money early on at hitting 3's. Right now Teague is basically Royal Ivey 2.0. Not saying he's not improving but he's far from being ready to run an offense.

I think it's that simple. Drew would have died with Bibby because he hated the look of the offense with Teague. Teague was bringing the ball up then disappearing while Joe and Jamal worked iso. Bibby could find the cutting player or work the 2-man game with Al or Joe.

What have you seen from Bibby, other than NO DEFENSE WHATSOEVER, a couple of pick and rolls with Al, and an occasional 3 ptr? You must miss avg pg's having career games against us? I dont. Btw, Teague would avg more assists than Bibby if he played Bibby's min. EASY. And it sure is nice watching a pg lead a fastbreak cause the before mentioned couldnt. Right now he's just bringing the ball up and playing solid defense. If the Hawks plan on making noise when it counts they'll need much more than that. Remember he was never able to beat out Bibbs. I like Teague's athleticism but you have to bring more to the table to be an effective PG. He has to finish at the rim, hit those wide open jumpers, and learn to get guys in position to be successful.

Tonight's tipoff is less than 24 hours after the end of last nights game. Thats extremely tough. Especially on the road. Altitude or no altitude. With Bibby, we wouldnt stand a chance. With Teague and Kirk we at least have a shot.
