  1. Another BK and Woody DUD. Thank God we got lucky with Josh. Horford was an obvious pick, so I can give em too much credit for that one. Diaw, Marvin, Shellhead, Acie, Salim, Solo, etccc. Wow! At least Sund got it right. He took Teague over Collison, Maynor, and Toney Douglass. lol! .

  2. I always thought Woody did a damn good job with the built in limitations at the 1,4, and 5 positions. I don't see where Drew has a schematic advantage over Woody. The team was always on the verge of becoming a jump-shooting team under Woody but there's not question they're a jump-shooting team under Drew. Just goes to prove that sometimes the best moves are the ones left undone.

This team is just so flawed, I dont know if Woody and LD is at fault or not. Cause if you think about it, it's gotta be tough to win in this league when your're a team with 2 good sg's, 2 good pf's, and a bunch of scrubs.
  3. I'm not apollogizing to Woody, because I've changed my mind about his coaching skills. I'm apologizing because I dont think this group could win with Phil Jackson or any other great Coach, as is constructed. I just think I was a little too hard on Woody, blaming him for lack of effort, coming out flat, blowing big leads, getting blowed out, living and dying by jumpshots, poor shot selection, ISO's, etc...., when I see a lot of the same things going on under LD.

  4. If they watched last night's game vs the Pistons they will. The difference in a fresh Bibby opposed to a worn down tired Bibby is 180 deg. This team needs some production at that backup PG position desperately. You can not assume that Bibbs can perform at such a high level consistently.

This team needs a starting pg desperately. If anything, this game proved what a penetrating pg could do for this team.

Not to mention, one that can play a little defense. Shoulda drafted Toney Douglass imo. Woulda been a perfect fit.

  5. I've come to the conclusion that Nbasuperstar and me have wildly different perceptions of what constitutes basketball talent. I mean, I've seen around 6 grizzlies games this year and Oj Mayo has looked dreadful in all of them. Looking at his stats it seems like that is pretty much par for the course for him this season. I've also browsed some Memphis Grizzlies forums and it seems most of the fans have pretty much had enough of the guy. All in all Mayo has been a pretty tremendous dud after his promising rookie season. As for Hasheem Thabeet, well, the guy is simply an abomination, and maybe one of the overall worst players I've seen this year. I'd rather sign a random center from the NBDL than have anything to do with Thabeet. To be honest I'd rather keep Crawford and lose him for nothing next season than acquire EITHER of these guys not to mention both of them.

And to think, people called Mchale a fool for giving up Mayo for Love. lol!
  6. This team is a group of it's own. Doesn't matter who's coaching, whether it be Woody or LD the fact of the matter is that there is no discipline. Smoove is still taking outside jumpers and we got Bibby starting for who knows why. The dude can barely bring the ball up the court.

I'd go ahead and put Joe at the 1 and start Jamal at the 2. f*** it. Make some changes like you said you would LD. Show em who's boss with the lowest paid salary in the NBA!

Mike Bibby is still in the NBA?
  7. Yes the last week or so has been bad but the change has been dramatic. The switching defense is gone (which hurt us a lot) and there is more flow to the offense (not including the last week).

Once again ...not taking the last week into account...we have become more unpredictable...Woody has one plan and one substitute pattern at almost set times and we don't ever swtich it up. We were very predictiable. LD has been able to adjust as the game moves on.

Until we get a pg who can play perimeter defense, it doesnt matter if we switch or not. Woodson was just trying to hide Bibby. You almost have to. And what's not predictable about giving Joe the ball at crunch time? LD did the same thing Woody woulda did. ISO Joe. The Bobcats were ready for it, and Joe's dumbass settled for a jumpshot like he always does. Gotta take it to the hole in that situation. And btw, I havent seen good ball movement in a while now. Maybe in the 1st half. But not the 2nd half. And I'm not just talking about the last couple of weeks either. But like I said earlier, the coach can only do so much. These guys are soft as wet toilet paper. And the bench, or lackthereof, is D-leaguelike. Same as last year. What has Powell or Etan given us, that Randolph Morris couldnt of given us? I mean really.
  8. I would like to personally apologize to Mike Woodson for every negative thing I've ever said about you. Well most of em. I know you werent the best coach out there, BY FAR, but I dont think Red Auerbach or Phil Jackson could win with this bunch. "They left their heart in San Francisco". Again, sorry Woody. And btw, LD you dont stand a chance with this team, as is constructed. You can flip flop the lineup all you want. Doesnt matter. If you owe Woodson an apology, feel free to comment.

  9. Its not like Charlotte has a big center that requires Collins to start

They've got Kwame. lol! But seriously, I wouldnt be suprised if Kwame and Augustine has the best games of their careers tonight. Bibby cant stop penetration. The Bigs help out. Alley oops to Kwame all night long.
  10. Just an interesting thing to note about the game today: Bob Rathbun is currently broadcasting for the Clemson - UNC game on the ACC Network. If Bob then turns around and broadcasts the game tonight against the Bobcats then that is pretty impressive. It shouldn't really be a time crunch for him, but I imagine he was at Littlejohn preparing around 11:30, the game finishes around 3, Bob drives up to Charlotte (about 2 hour drive) and starts to prepare for the Hawks telecast. Now thats a busy day.

Just your avg 10 hr day. Welcome to the real world. lol!
  11. If that is the big change that LD is talking about then I am not impressed. It is not really shaking up the lineup because it is one we use already.

Personally, I am not a fan at all of Smith at the SF. He is a PF period.

As long as Josh is posting up, I dont care what position he's playing. But I see what you're sayin. That's most likely to happen at the pf posion. Not as many jump shots either. However, I have seen him posting up some sf's this year.(huge size advantage). So I guess I agree with you, but I disagree with you, if you know what I mean. lol! Josh is the perfect example of a tweener. A good one though. lol!
  12. Is this the big lineup change that LD was talking about?? Need to sit Bibby. He can be the sniper off the bench. It also keeps him fresh. And I thought you were supposed to start your best players? Jamal should be starting. Big Baby's getting 6th man. Might as well start him. No how Woody used to love those awards. lol! Hopefully LD cares more about winning. Marvin would get his chance to shine with the 2nd unit.

    My lineup:

    Teague/Jamal/JJ/Josh/Al

    Bibby/Damien/Marvin/Zaza/Twin

    Powell/JC2/Etan

  13. http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/5842258

    Plus add next year's first.

This trade allows Minnesota to dump salary for next year.

fixes our deficiencies at Center and PG.

    Lineup looks like this:

    Telfair / Teague

    Johnson/Crawford

    Smith/Wilkens

    Horford/Williams/Pachulia

    Milicic/Twin/Pachulia

    Reasons....

Telfair can get to the paint and is a stop ball pg. He won't be as pressured to score as early in his career. He's currently averaging 7.8ppg/3.1apg and shooting 39.7% from 3 in under 20 minutes a game. Give him 32 minutes (teague 16) and that playes out to 13 ppg, 5.7 apg and much better defense. Telfair runs the pick and roll and fast break extremely well. He is fast. Biggest strength is court vision.

Milicic. 7.0, 275 2.3 bpg center in only 24 minutes. averaging 9.3 PPG 5.4 RPG in the same 24 minutes. 32 minutes numbers would be 12 ppg/7.2 RPG/3.0 BPG. He doesn't have to be superman, he just has to not be a strong defensive presence who could score if asked and allow Al to move to the 4, Josh to the 3. It's the Collins lineup except Milicic is better than Collins.

    Starting lineup is 6.0, 6.7, 6.9, 6.10, 7.0.

Josh at sf still worries me. Dont wont him on the perimeter too much. Guess he could backup Al and get some min at pf though.
  14. Uh..yeah I would trade Smoove in hearbeat for a legit PG like Nash. What is this post about? Smoove needs to be traded period

Smoove for another old azz pg that plays no defense? No thanks. I like Nash as a player, but I dont think he's what we need at pg.

Not for Josh anyway. Josh and Al are two of the best pf/c combos in the league. I dont understand all the hate for Josh. And I know, I know, Horford is playing out of position etc...................................................... Whatever. Play Collins if need be. Btw, just watched the 2001 all-star game. Kobe was still raw as hell, and that was his 6th year in the league. Smoove is just in his 7th. Lot of room to grow. No way I give up on him yet.

  15. I don't even see Bibby as a PG any more, what does he do...that makes him a PG?

Penetrate and dish? No. Lead the team in assists? No. Guard the opposing pg's? No. Start the break? No. Looks like D. Will? No. Cross you over like DRose? No. Ok, you got me. I give up. lol
  16. Bibby is no longer starting material in this league, but the options we have behind him aren't better. Bibby may not contribute much outside of a "calming influence" and occasional 3 point shot, but make no mistake about it:

It would be TURNOVER CITY if we handed the starting job to Teague at this point. Have you seen Teague try to run the offense when he is out there? We have no offensive identity when he is handling the PG duties.

And sadly, it looks like Bibby will be our starting PG mnext year as well barring an unexpected move by the Hawks.

No what Teagues turnover-assists ratio is? Bet its better than Bibby's. Could be wrong though. What I do know is that Teague usually has 2 or 3 assists in only a few min every time he's out there. Bibby seems to only get maybe 2 or 3 every couple of games lately. Not to mention, EVERY pg either has a breakout game or resurrects his career when he plays against the Hawks. I blame Jamal for some of that too though. Our perimeter defense is just plain awful. One things for sure, we better get another pg in here if we plan on making any kind of noise in the Playoffs. And what identity does Bibby give us? If it aint a pick and roll to Al, or an alley oop to Josh, its just pass it to Joe and stand at the 3 pt line. And an occasional 3 pointer means nothing, when you're a blowby waithing to happen on defense.

No way the Hawks go into next year with Bibby as the starting pg. I expect an unexpected move by then.
  18. Not only that but his fall wasn't "twice" as hard but it's funny how selective some memories are, especially when it's regarding Marvin. I fully expect Al to miss some time and thankfully our next 4 opponents aren't exactly great teams.

He brought most of the "selective memory" on himself. And the Clippers arent exactly a great team either, but we needed Al to pull this one off. No lead is safe around here. Hasnt been for years.

  19. Horford just fell twice as hard as ole big booty Marvin and will probably play tomorrow. That fool was out 2 months lol! And why did LD wait so long to take Bibby out? That guy is done. And to think, he's actually signed for another year. Wow!

  20. 13 - 3

    NFL South Division Champs

#1 Seed in the NFC Playoffs with home field advantage.

I'd say it worked out very nicely.

I refuse to subscribe to the logic that the 31 teams who don't win the Super Bowl should not try to make their teams better and just stand pat.

So its ok for the Falcons to have a good reg season and get embarrased in the Playoffs, but it's not ok for the Hawks? Hmmmmm? And btw the Hawks didnt stand pat. They hired LD, and signed JJ, who was the best sg in FA.
