  1. Hawks should take pointers from the Falcons in regards to their new media and fan relations.
  2. Just look at the comments on that video. The fans loved him.
  3. Teague's assist percentage went up when Danny brought guys who could shoot in, and the team quit running so much ISO. Jennings, however, hasn't had that kind of personnel, and it's not a leap to think his assist ration would increase a good bit.
  4. I'm just guessing here, but I think soe of Jennings trouble finishing has to do with him ALWAYS using his left. I have seen zero right handed finishes which causes some awkward looking lay-ups. That is the sort of thing taht seems like it can be fixed with a lot of hard work. The question is, is he willing to do it? But if Jennings is better at PnR, and has more of an ability to shoot of the dribble, and has better vision, then he is a better fit than Teague. He's also younger, and Bud is known for development.
  5. The only way that this was a one year rebuild was to get D12 and Chris Paul. Houston was heavily favored for D12 to begin with, and when Paul re-upped with the Clips, Atlanta had no advantages over Houston. The only way this offseason is a nightmare is if you expected Danny Ferry to make this a championship contender in one offseason. It's going to take a couple years at least.
  6. If Jennings could learn to use his right hand, he would be a lot more dangerous.
  7. This is certainly a head-scratcher. We will just have to wait and see how all of it unfolds I guess.
  8. Alex Kennedy ✔ @AlexKennedyNBAThe Atlanta Hawks are negotiating with Monta Ellis, per a source. I'm hearing deal would be about $10 million a year. Not sure about years. How do you embed tweets?
  9. Smith could be very frustrating, but I will miss the highlight reel blocks and dunks and the energy he brought. Best wishes Josh.
  10. I expect Jenkins to see a lot of floor time this year, but the PF position is starting to look a little stacked, especially if Ferry goes out and gets a C.
  11. We should? It's a chance, right? With quite a few teams that will definitely tank, it makes it more a risk. Houston didn't get Dwight by tanking. They got assets and traded for Harden, were outside the lottery, and this year landed the big fish. How many so-called can't miss guys do end up missing? It will take a couple of years, but the sounder plan is add assets and stay competitive, rather than hoping to be the one team that is lucky enough to land the superstar in the draft. JMO.
  12. "Had no shot at high quality free agents this year." Not getting any so far does not equate to having no shot. Changing the culture and perception of a franchise does not start with putting a horrible team on the floor and bringing in lazy players, leaving everything to luck (ping pong balls) and wishful thinking (Bynum suddenly changes his mentality after he gets paid.)
  13. For those of you who don't want Asik and complain about his talent... who realistically can ATL put at center next year that allows Horford to move to PF that is nearly as good defensively and on the boards as Asik? We're not getting Dwight, not getting Cousins... I mean who do you want? Do you want to see this team win 20 games and have a shot at NO high quality free agents next year, too? (All for a small chance at a top 2 pick in a loaded draft.) Talk about treadmill...
  14. Zach Klein @ZachKleinWSB NBA league source tells me Hawks and Rockets working on sign and trade for Josh Smith
  15. So signing the best three-point shooter is a sign that Howard is not coming here? But if another team made a move to get a shooter, it would be a sign Howard was leaning toward that team, right? The problem is that EVERYONE seems to be interpreting moves/lack of moves however they want to, and reading way too much into each one. Don't blame Dwight Howard for this, blame the media who is just trying to reel off story after story because they are FEEDING THE FANS who just can't wait to hear and talk about it.
  16. Oh I know. But that's the only way I can understand their interest. Then again, I'd trust Coach Bud over Woodson or Drew on getting the most out of a player, even though he has no coaching experience.
  17. The key is that Tyreke has the tools to be a great player. He needs a coach that can develop him... And the Hawks have one known for that. At least I think that's the way the Hawks brass sees it.
  18. Yeah that's right. Forgot about Hollinger. Weird that ESPN has his name on the Insider Scouting tab. I certainly agree that he is not starter material.
  19. According to Hollinger (ESPN Insider) he is close to an elite wing defender, and if the Hawks are seriously thinking about him, it would suggest that they agree.
  20. Certainly does remind me of what the Falcons did. Very goal-oriented and focused.
  21. I hope Bud is wiser than the previous coaches. :P
  22. I like the fact that the Hawks' GM is forward-thinking, much like the Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff is. Progressive forward thinkers set the standards for the future. They form the successful models that are eventually copied. The NBA is becoming more and more European. Ferry is going to create a Spurs-like culture here with his own innovations...
