  1. [censored] Markesha is fire! And I mean that in a good way. I'm in Macon, 1 hour south of ATL. Maybe i should hit that party Saturday nite... J
  2. Not that attractive to me. I know women in my area that are much better looking... J
  3. Yeah getting the leagues to approve the sale is a mere formality. As long as McDavid is the "acting" owner, we can begin to make personell moves. I still think Knight should man up and start doing this anyway. Odds are, McDavid will keep him as our GM anyways... J
  4. Yeah i'm not doubting he was very good, but Walton even admitted himself; He missed more time than any other individual in NBA History. I just can't understand why he would be added to the list when he spent more than half of his career injured. I think they put too much stock into his college career and not what he did on the NBA level... J
  5. Yeah i saw that on ESPN. Lenny was the man 2 years ago, now he has fallen off the face of the earth. It's stories like that that lead me toward saying the NBA should have an age limit... J
  6. sometimes you gotta let go. I [censored] sure hate to see Slim walk like that tho. Especially seeing that we invested in him as a #6 draft pick. I wish him all the luck in his career and nothing but success...
  7. Interesting read cyman. Thanks. I was hoping he had some comments on the 'Nique trade. The jury is still out on that one. Some blame Lenny, most blame Babs/Kasten. I just wanna get some answers on that trade. And I don't understand why Cleveland traded Ron Harper. He was a great ballplayer back then. He had some hops back in his prime. Trading him for Danny Ferry was one of the worst basketball trades in history, IMO. They had it made with 4 All-Stars (Price, Nance, Daugherty, Harper) If it were not for the Pistons and eventually Chicago, the Cavs may have a couple of championship banners hanging... J
  8. No, English was not voted into the top 50. But let's not talk about that. I'm still fuming over how Shaq and Bill Walton made that BS list... J
  9. Maybe help speed things up? Because while we are in the process of being bought, I don't think it is necessarily fair to have the whole franchise in limbo. We are basically restricted from doing the necessary offseason functions (i.e., talk to free agents, make deals with our own FA's, interview coaches and GMs, make trades). Let's say this deal does not get done until Mid-August...if not by September. Possibly worse, what if it falls through? Will it take another 4 months for someone to buy the team? If that's the case, we're looking at December before the team is sold. That's almost 2 months into the new season. I'm not trying to be too pessimistic here, but just being a concerned fan. I think it is David Stern's and the NBA Board of Governer's duty to maybe build a bridge between AOL and McDavid and speed up this process. I don't see how they can allow us to stand in limbo while other teams are free to make moves. Yes the TEAM is being sold, but why should the players, acting GMs and coaches be somewhat restricted? Just a few thoughts of mine... J
  10. Yeah it's BS to the 20th power. Things need to hurry up and get done tho. And i mean quick fast in a hurry... J
  11. Well back in the day..say 97 & 98 when we were actually good, I'd say it was the Hornets. But since then, they've moved to NOLA and we've moved into lotto land every year; tho we still haven't seen the fruits of that "labor". Thanks Pete... J
  12. Yeah they do look good. Kiki is a smart GM. We need someone like that in ATL. Hopefully Knight can do the same thing. If it all pans out in 2 or 3 years a lineup of 'Melo/Nene/Nicholas what's his name/and Dre Miller could be potent. Too bad they are in the west tho... J
  13. The 97 Hawks had everything but a slasher. I think if that team had a slasher like maybe Cedric Ceballos (at the time), they would've gone further. We had good spot up and shoot guys, but no one who could create his shot or cut the the basket well. Although i do remember Darrin Hancock from those days. He had some ups...
  14. Now that "McDavid's guy" is gone. We need to seriously pursue Fratello and/or Carlisle. If only this sale could be completed so we can do that. This has to be the most up and down offseason in Atlanta Hawks history... J

    IF.........

Byron Scott is a highly overrated coach. I watched him make terrible move after terrible move in the finals. He does not make the right substitution moves and does not know how to adjust to the flow of the game. I would stay away from him... My wish list 1a.Carlisle 1b.Fratello 2.Stotts 3.Alex English 4.Nique (he wants to coach...why not here?) J
  16. Maggette has supposed to have a breakout year for the past 3 years. It hasn't happened. I'd take JT. Not being a homer, but he is more consistent, and has improved his game. Maggette will be a good player, but right now i'm taking JT...
  17. Yeah it SHOULD be #1. It should've been a past issue as a matter of fact, but the longer we wait the more suitors JT will have. Sometimes it takes some balls to get things done. If McDavid knows anything about basketball and the Atlanta Hawks, he knows that keeping JT is important...
  18. I think the LAL are making a BIG mistake if they get Payton and Malone. And quite frankly, I hope they do make this mistake. I don't like the Lakers. I don't see any way that this will work. There is only one basketball, and now you have 4 guys who are used to being "the man" at some point on the floor all at once? Yeah, do your thing LA. IMO, LA is better off with role players who know they wont get the pub and the points. Portland stockpiled talent 3 years ago and it blew up on them. Same thing with the Mets in baseball. Championship teams are built buy individuals who fill roles. Not just talent. A Laker team of Kobe, Shaq, Mailman, and GP can only win the title on NBA Live 04. Just my opinion...
  19. I think the priorities should be... 1.JT 2.Decisions on Ira, Glove, and DJ 3.Getting the sale done. 4.Coach. The reason i put coach last is that pretty much every team, with the exception of LAC has a coach in place. We still have 2 top guys to choose from. And knowing the Clips they probably won't choose either one. JT is the biggest piece of the team, so we do need to get that done. The sale is beyond anyone's control, but we still can decide on our role players while that's going on. All in all, I hope all 4 of these issues are addressed by August 1...
  20. I totally agree with KB. Atlanta clearly used this draft to accomodate JT's game. Diaw and Hansen should both be compliments to JT. I believe if Knight and Kasten had plans to let JT walk, they would've drafted differently. I don't know of any guard other than your Iversons, Francis, and Marbury's that you can team in a backcourt with Boris Diaw. JT fits that mold. So relax fellas, JT's an Atlanta Hawk today and he will be one next season...
  21. No ownership, no head coach, and with all this uncertainty, the only for sure thing is that our SF will not play the first 3 games. I'm sure some here will mumble that we may win all 3 with Dog out of the lineup...
  22. Between Fratello and Carlisle. I like Fratello because he has been here before, knows the city and the organization, and will command respect from the players. I like Carlisle simply because of his resume with Detroit, and his coaching style. What i wanna know is...Who the [censored] voted for Mike Dunleavy??? J
  23. All I'm saying is that i wish people would stop thinking we should trade Dog for spare parts. This is a good basketball player, no matter what people think of his game. He can be an asset to some team out there, and i don't like the idea of trading him for lesser value. I can understand the idea of wanting to get better cap room, contracts, etc. for the futue, but I really don't believe thats the way to build a team. You build through quality individuals who can contribute. I have no problem getting a couple of players for Dog who will fill some of his scoring void, defend better, and keep the ball moving on offense. But c'mon, Lamond Murray? Chris Jeffries? Robert Horry? That's just terrible... J
  24. Yeah i can see DJ and Diaw filling the lanes on breaks with throwdowns. It would be like those days when Nique, Willis and Spud did that...
  25. I just don't understand how some of you people think dumping Dog for useless parts makes us better. Now or in the future. Sure the team chemistry might not be all good when he's on the floor, but he's still a good basketball player. Would I like to have better chemistry, more ball movement, stronger defense? [censored] yeah! But i also want my team to score points. That's still the object of the game. He can fill it up, and trading him for the likes of Lamand Murray and NBDL caliber players just won't cut it. I've said it before and i'll say it again. Let's not just make a trade to say "we made a trade". Let's get value for value... J
