  1. I'm beginning to think some people wanna dump Big Dog for 3 packs of Scotch Tape. This deal makes no sense. The only player who i even see making a small contribution is JYD. Lamond Murray is now a journeyman who cannot stay healthy. Chris Jeffries just will not work. And you say Toronto unloads JYD's bad contract, but what makes you think we wanna take that on? Not for a mediocre talent like him. We already have our share of bad contracts to underachieving players. Let's get realistic folks...
  2. Hey this may be good all around. We fill a need in Glove's place and he should do well on another team. He's been playing and living in ATL all his life. Maybe it's time for a change of scenery... J
  3. The problem i see with Cleveland is that they have too many players that are similar. If they're gonna give LeBron some clock at the PG. What happens with Wagner? If Wagner's gonna play the 2, what happens with Davis? Too many questions. I think they do need to either move Davis or Miles. Wagner and James are not going anywhere...
  4. Actually, as crazy as that sounds, I would consider that. The problem is that DMiles has not really improved, and this will be his 4th season. Maybe with better talent around him, he will. It's an interesting deal to look at... J
  5. I'd have to go with DJ. Upside wins. But his health scares me...
  6. Crawford is a prime example of how you never should put so much stock in a player based on one game. He had 26 points and was on fire from outside in Game 1 of that sweep against NY in 99. All of a sudden, people think "Oh yeah! Chris Crawford is a star!". As I recall, we lost that game and 3 more in a row, and blew up the entire roster...
  7. I think it's great having so many international players in the L. [censored], Dirk is probably my 2nd favorite NBA player behind JT. Some people are just naive to the new times...
  8. This is a realistic poll. I won't put
  9. "If JT was shooting just a little better he probably would have been in it last year. But at the time his percentage was like 36." Yeah, but traditionally, ATL has never had a shooter good enuff to get into the competition. The closest was probably Steve Smith in the late 90's
  10. Yeah you're right, that would give Atlanta some attention. But does anyone know that Atlanta has never had a contestant in the 3 point shooting competition. NEVER. It's useless info, but just something that I thought I'd throw out...
  11. Philly was #4 actually, but i don't think Losing Larry Brown will set them back. Just my opinion. Think about it. They have to deal with his "I'm thinking about retiring, coaching UNC, coaching another team" circus each offseason. Ayers may be an unknown product, but give him a chance. He knows the players, and i have a feeling AI will do well under him. Unlike some people on this board. The problem Philly has always had is that they do not surround AI with another legitimate scoring frontcourt player. KVH will not cut it. Philly still has a deeper bench than us, and much more experience. I'm not putting our Hawks down at all, but I'm only saying do not rate them higher than the Sixers just yet
  12. "7. Chicago Bulls 8. New Orleans Hornets 9. Milwaukee Bucks 10. Atlanta Hawks" I think you're highly overrating the Chicago Bulls and underrating the Atlanta Hawks. The Bulls are improving, but they're not quite playoff material this year. I think they made a huge mistake drafting Hinrich over Ford. Atlanta still has 3 good scorers, along with a good defensive presence around the basket in Theo. We did hugely underachieve last year, but there was a lot of turnover (literally and figuratively). We had a solid draft. All that needs to be done is adding a couple of pieces off the bench. Hire a coach like Carlise or my guy Fratello...boom..your team takes off. That being said, here's my East outlook (assuming JKidd re-signs with NJ). 1. New Jersey Nets -still the most talented and experienced team, despite Detroit's addition of Darko. 2. Detroit Pistons -I like what they're doing, but they did my boy Carlise wrong, IMO. 3. Philadelphia 76ers -It all depends on how Ayers and Allen get along. They gotta get AI more scoring help tho. 4. Orlando Magic -I like the addition of Gaines, but TMac still needs more offensive threats around him. Gooden will have to step up even more. 5. Indiana Pacers -They hugely underachieved again. This may be Isiah's last go round with them. 6. Boston Celtics -Yes they got their PG, but they still don't have a 3rd scorer. Hindsight is 20/20. They should've kept Kenny Anderson. 7. Atlanta Hawks -a lotta questions about the coach/GM/owner, but still a solid squad. The addition of Diaw will allow JT and others to focus on doing what they do. A proven coach will carry this team into the playoffs. 8. Milwaukee Bucks -too many questions here. Will GP come back? Will Ford be the man? Who will be their go to guy? They only make the playoffs because of the team below. 9. New Orleans Hornets -George Shinn has really f*cked this franchise up. They let go of Silas for the losingest coach in NBA history? Smart move, idiot. I feel sorry for their fans. 10. Chicago Bulls -One more year before they are playoff bound. They need to decide what will happen with JRose and Jamal Crawford. They could've had Ford but picked Hinrich. We'll see how that pans out. 11. New York Knicks -Solid draft in Sweetney and Lampe. If Lamps is cleared to play, he'll be a star in 2 years. But until then they are lotto bound. 12. Miami Heat -They have lost their identity, but they have stolen the draft 2 years in a row. 13. Toronto Raptors -Bosh will take time to develop. They could've had Ford, but even then they still will not even sniff the playoffs. 14. Washington Wizards -This franchise is a joke. I hope Hayes does well here. 15. LeBron will fill the seats, but after this year Cavs fans want wins, not just entertainment. J
  13. I think he left Hendu and Crawford off because they spend more time in suits than in unis...
  14. [censored] yeah i would. Peeler's a baller. I agree, that if he comes cheap...do it... J
  15. I'll say maybe. I don't think DJ will ever turn into the player he could've been pre-injury/accident. But for his sake, I hope he does come back and has a legitimate career. If it's here, great, if not i hope he'll land somewhere in the L... J
  16. Rex Chapman was a freak of nature. I dont think Hansen will be that type of player. I haven't really seen him play, but if people are comparing him to Majerle, that would be great. But i really don't go for "comparisons". I think those are very overrated and limit a player's potential and leaves opportunity for people to criticize his game. Let these players do what they do. Lets stop comparing them so much to past stars... J
  17. You guys are getting excited over nothing. Kobe is just trying to stir Phil and Shaq up in LA. When it's all said and done he'll be a Laker in 04-05 and beyond. Regardless if they win the title or not (I hope they don't). J
  18. [censored] we could've done a lot better at 37...
  19. "Oh yeah, I forgot the number #6 & #14 picks from 1994: Sharone Wright and Yinka Dare. Anyone heard from them in the last 3 years???" Hey, Sharone Wright. He went to my old high school-Southwest Macon. I thought he was overhyped even back in those days. And yeah Dare...the assist king...
  20. Sup fellas. Sorry I could not be here to make my pick at #35. I tried to get the later lunch but i couldnt. I was gonna email my pick to you Dolfan, but my computer is going haywire lately. Sorry for any inconvenience... J
  21. C'mon. This guy was picked 3rd in that '86 draft (BTW, wasn't that an ill-fated draft) and did nothing in his time with Golden State and even a stint with the Hawks. I dont know the full story, but dude was on drugs, stealing steroes, the whole 9. I remember ESPN did a feature on him a couple of years ago. The man is big, literally big now. What a shame and what a waste of talent, and an even bigger waste of a selection by the Golden State Warriors in 1986...
  22. Thanks man. Like I said i'll try to work it out tomorrow, whether it be take a later lunch or make my pick early (if possible). If not i'll email you my list of a couple of players I'm interested in drafting. Stay up fellas... J
  23. "Ricky Davis & Jerry Stackhouse are TO machines.....like we don't have enough of those.." That and I think the only way you can get Ricky Davis to play any D is if he's a steal or a block away from a triple double...
