  1. Wassup guys. The draft looks to be goin good. I appreciate ya'll letting me take part in it. I know i have the 35th pick tomorrow between 2-4PM. I have to work tomorrow between 8-5, but i usually come home on my lunch break to check email, get on the 'Squawk, etc. So hopefully i'll be on here around 1ish to make my selection. I hope i can make my pick that early, if not i'll try my best to make it at 2, but the job usually wants me to take my lunch earlier than that. That being said, I hope to be able to make my pick tomorrow w/o any trouble. Thanks in advance... J
  2. Boris is exactly what we need. I agree, that if we keep JT, this will work out great...
  3. "If Toronto wanted Ira who would you want to receive in return? As a fair trade of course...:)" Actually, Ira may have interest in Toronto. As funny as that sounds. You may know this already, but he's from Detroit, which is not too far from Toronto. Their team is not any worse off or any better off than ATL. I still think he'll be here after it's all over...
  4. "I'm not sure that it has a direct bearing on Ira...it has more of an effect on Glover." Yeah neither do I. I just saw a lot of posts about Ira possibly being gone if Diaw were drafted at 21. So i just wanted to get the people's opinions on that...
  5. I honestly think so, and hope so. Newble is one of the important pieces to this team's success (when it wins). I just wanna get everybody's opinion on this...

    Boris Diaw

"BTW, he compares to Bruce Bowen. If that's the case, he would be well worth the pick at #21. An excellent contrast to Robinson (or Rice, for that matter)." If he can bring a 3 point shot like Bowen, that will be a huge plus. I just hope he doesn't exhibit his FT skills. But i think if we draft Diaw, that should light a fire under everybody. You got this foreign kid, who the front office is obviously interested in, that could eventually take someone's job. I think the guy will step up everybody's game a notch...

    Boris Diaw

Man i would hate to loose the Newbleizer. He's the toughest sonofagun on our team. When it's all finished i think he'll end back up in the A...
  8. "One of them has Hinrich dropping to us???? No WAY that happens. Even if he did drop to us I really don't trust him. I will admit he is better than Dickau at this point, but I have a feeling he will turn into a slightly better Dickau, but I could be wrong." Interesting. I think Hinrich will be taken by pick #10. But i don't see him turning out as one of the impact players in this draft. He does have one advantage over most of the players; that is experience. He could step in on almost any team and give a good contribution. However, a dramatic turnaround to a franchise, he will not make, IMO...
  9. Well i'll be at work until 9PM Wed night. But I know ATL's pick will not be up by then. The draft usually lasts what...4 or 5 hours. I know i'll be thinking about it all day, hoping we take our guy Boris Diaw!
  10. Thanks for the update weaseldom. It's good to know a little of what's going on behind the closed doors. I'm glad we're going to give JT that offer. I think Billy and Stan know that letting him walk w/o compensation would be a huge setback. At least they're being smart about that. I am also glad to hear that we are being very aggresive in the pursuit of Diaw. A last minute workout, really convinces me that he's the top guy on our list. If not we may be trying to trade up, but i have a feeling he'll be available. Excellent post...
  11. No way in.... Well you get the picture. Why do you think they broke them up in Milwaukee? It wasn't the coaching although Karl was not the best motivator. I think in the end, there were just too many egos and not enough balls to go around up there...
  12. ...The Milwaukee Bucks select Maciej Lampe, 7'0 Forward from Poland. This was a tough decision for me. I'm glad I got the night to sleep on it. I actually think Collison could help the Bucks more immediately, but the reason i took Lampe is because of his potential and size. Milwaukee let Dirk Nowitzki slip through their fingers a few years ago by trading him. They will not pass up on his clone. Lampe brings size at 7'0, along with a great touch from outside, with the ability to play inside. Milwaukee is very thin up front. Right now at only 240, I see Lampe playing the 3, but as he gets older (he's only 17) he should develop into a 4. He has to become a better rebounder and develop his body to do that. If the Bucks keep Payton, Lampe will have a great ball distributor to get him great looks from outside. Their team is a perimiter team anyway, so Lampe's 3 point ability will be welcomed. One thing that made this pick a hard one is that he will be playing for coach Karl; a known hard-@$$ who constantly criticizes his players. I don't know how Lampe will handle that if and when it occurs, but his potential far outweighs any of that. I see more Dirk in this guy and less say...Joel Pryzibilla. I don't believe he'll set the world on fire during his first or second year, but when it's all said and done, I believe he'll be one of the top 4 or 5 players to come out of this draft.
  13. As it stands right now we are a pretty soft team. I think the Hawks teams of the past say....12-13 years have been soft. We haven't had a true enforcer on this team since the days of Willis, Antione "The Original Big Dog" Carr, Cliff "Good News" Levingston, and even Tree Rollins. Those guys would mix it up with anyone in the L from Bill Laimber to MJ. I miss those teams. Thats why we NEED a hardnosed coach like a Carlisle or a Fratello. As long as we bring in these guys who have no fire, we'll continue to get no respect...
  14. TJ Ford a Jason Kidd type? I dunno. He's not that impressive to me. I see him being more in the mold of Kenny Anderson...
  15. Thanks for the link Boondocks...
  16. 2 Words. Chris Porter. Remember him from Auburn. Guy had mad hops, but no game...
  17. I was just curious. I've never even seen a picture of McDavid. Not that it matters, but i'd at least like to see the guy who's most likely gonna take over the franchise. I did a search yesterday, and found nothing but his autodealership sites. The man is big in Texas...
  18. Welcome aboard DXS. Thanks for the info. That article makes things look a lot brighter. If the deal will be done by July 1 or so, that means we can go ahead and make this coaching/GM? move and still be a player in the FA and trade game. I just realized the only teams now with coaching "vacancies" left are us and the Clippers. They seem very interested in Dunleavy, which is a good thing. If he goes there that will still leave us to choose between guys like Fratello and Carlisle. If we get one of those guys after this long @$$ sale process, thats not too shabby...
  19. I like Artest. He's a headcase, but the man can ball. He's a hardnosed player. I can't name anyone on our team that works harder than Ron...
  20. Prince really didn't impress me a whole lot during the playoff run. Out of those games, I can only point out 3 that he really stood out (Game 7 vs. Magic/Games 2 & 5 vs. Sixers). Other than that he was not a huge factor, IMO. Plus he seemed to play better at home than on the road. I think between Fratello and Carlisle, Mike would be a better guy at developing talent, but you cannot ignore the job Rick did with the Pistons. Either one is fine with me, because they both preach defense...
  21. yeah i didnt notice cyman took #10, but 11 is cool. But you said we're not picking for order right now so whatever number i get is alright...
  22. 97-98(47-35) Shawn Kemp-Already on decline Wesley Person Big Z Derek Anderson Cedric Henderson Brevin Knigh That must be the team you are talking about That is the team we're talking about. They made the playoffs that year and got knocked out by Indina, and haven't sniffed the playoffs since...
  23. When I stated rebuilt the Cavs, that's what I was talking about. The Cavs never gave that team a chance to gell though and blew it all up a couple of years later. Yeah i think a big reason because of that was due to the injuries to Z and Derek Anderson, and the declining of Shawn Kemp who was also on that team. I remember they made the playoffs that year, and the lockout came the next summer. Thats where Kemp blew up, literally; and the Cavaliers were never the same...
