Glad we re-upped JT. Maybe some of these idiots will get off the Hawks' organization back. Talking about the Hawks won't have enough players to suit up for the upcoming season. I think everything changed once the Spirit group bought the team. Guys wanna come back and there is at least some direction. Let's sign back Glove, DJ, and Smitty, and i'll say the offseason was pretty nice after the early bullshyt... J

Yo, Larry Smith. I'm glad we got this guy on board. He was Rudy T's top man in H-Town. Again, why are we getting upset that Nique is not an assistant. I just don't think that should be his role here. The new owners sound like they'll give him a HIGH position, that will not risk him being fired. I think a coaching position is too risky. If Nique succeeds, that's great, but if he fails, some will remember him as another great player who flopped as a coach. Keep Dominique in a management position, please. I would much rather see that... J

A couple of these guys know Atlanta Hawks basketball, and have followed the team for years. They'll put Nique in the position he belongs in. Maybe in a similar role that Bird plays in Indiana. I would love to see that... J

I think I would rather see Dominique in a management position, rather than as an assistant coach. I know he wants to coach very badly, and i believe he would be a good one if given the chance. But I think it would send a message across the franchise and to the fans that the Greatest Atlanta Hawk is in a HIGH position. Assistant coach, to me, is not much greater than what he has been doing the past few years "special assistant". I hope the owners will ask Nique to accept maybe a VP of Basketball Operations gig or something in that ballpark. He deserves it... J

These guys seem to have some good and credible backgrounds. I hope this is true and not some 6 month "letter of intent" deal again. I'm also glad that we have some local guys in on this. And did I read that Gearon Sr. actually attends games and is an avid fan? THAT's that type of owner i want running my team... J

Never could fully picture the Texas hick, McDavid, all of a sudden becoming the Hawks #1 Fan. Never could... J

He really could sell the team to the state of GA and would bring a lot of fan interest to the games. No more Ted, please. He only came to a game once every 5 years. I don't want an owner like that... Hey yall. I haven't been posting much lately. My grandmother had been really sick and she passed away early Saturday morning around 12AM. The funeral services are tomorrow at 2PM. I just need your prayers and best wishes for my family and I to get through this time. We are trying to stay strong and positive. I doubt Vick will lose anything as far as mindset. He's one of the most confident individual athletes that have come on the scene in years. I think if anything, this should make him stronger mentally. I wish him a speedy recovery and a great career. I don't want Atlanta fans to get down on this. I know we were all like "OH SHYT. JUST OUR LUCK". I don't think it'll be like that. The ATL sports teams have had their share of bad luck. It's time for some good fortune... J

OK now that we know Stotts stays, who do you all think will be our assistant coaches? English and Henson are gone, so that leaves Nique. If he's not given a shot, then they're making a big mistake. Also, I would love to see Rick Mahorn return. A lot of the players liked him, so why not? I can live with a staff of Stotts, Nique and Mahorn. What do you guys think? Opinions wanted... J

It's on the Hawks site on NBA.com. I'm pretty sure it's gonna confirm what we all suspected in the previous thread, that the Hawks will retain Billy Knight and Terry Stotts. It would be nice, however, to hear that the sale has also been completed, but I highly doubt that. Stay tuned... J

I've been wavering for months on Fratello or Carlisle. It's like having to pick one piece of candy from your 2 favorties. BUT, I agree on the fact that hiring Fratello would definitely bring fan interest back and some nostalgia. I think that also opens the door for a larger role for Dominique. Assistant coach possibly. The thing i like about Carlisle, however, is that he turned Detroit around in one season; with far less talent than we have. But this is all moot until these idiots complete the sale. If only the Hawks were up for sale 2 years ago, Mr. Arthur Blank would've bought them instead of the Falcons. Not that i'm complaining, I'm glad he's there. I'm just tired of the bullshyt we're going thru with McD... J

I think the problem with Stan K. and the whole Turner/AOL/Time Warner conglomeration is that they have always given more time, attention, and affection to the Braves. The Hawks have always been like the step-child to these people. If they gave a [censored] about the Hawks, maybe the fan base wouldn't be as depleted as it is and there would be more of a sense of history. I never have liked the idea of a guy or corporation owning 2 or 3 teams. It's profitable sure, but I don't think that's the best thing for the teams. I think we all want a president and owner who will be fully committed to this franchise and will do whatever it takes to build a tradition. I agree that it is time for Stan Kasten to exit. He cannot do anything more here that will benefit the franchise. I remember a couple of months ago, people here were talking about bringing in Pat Croce as president. There's a man that will definitely back this team and market it to the fullest. As long as we have this man Stan K. on hand, he'll never give the Hawks his undivided. Not while his baby, the Braves, are in town... J

That would be the 2nd worst trade in Atlanta Hawks history. Surpassing Rider for Smitty and just below Manning for Nique/#1Pick. If we were to do that (which i think is totally untrue), we'd definitely be tanking the season. All i know is that this so called "insider" better keep his identity unknown after Friday rolls around and this deal is not made. Like the title says...WHAT A JOKE... J

That's all nice, but do you really think Odom could be had for Nazr and a 2nd round pick? I know D.Sterling has made some dumb moves, but I don't think he'd do that one. Odom is one of those players that you would love to have on your team, but you don't wanna pay too much for him. A lineup of Theo/SAR/Odom/Diaw/JT is all gravy, but I don't see it happening..Not without trading one of our top guys; which I am not willing to do to get a complimentary player... J

"Hawksquawk is actively pursuing him" Not me. Odom's a nice player, but I'm not breakin my neck tryin to get him here. Especially at the price of dealing our best players... J
