We desperately need some front court depth.

WB and Harden are both horrible defenders and they never complimented each other. I think it’s too early to say the same is true for Trae and DJM, just gotta give them some time to figure it out. And for as much as I wanted Ayton in the off-season, I don’t think he’s a good fit now. He definitely won’t be featured in offense and he won’t give half of Clint’s effort on d. I think we need to ride it out with the starters and shore up the bench.

Any of insiders have any info on Crowder?

Official Game Thread: Hawks at Pistons (Freaky Friday)

Great win! Trae’s best game this season. I hope JJ continues to prove me wrong, he had some really good moments. Still shaky on defense though. AJ has to work on d and moving laterally but he looks like a natural scorer. -

It’s so obvious refs don’t like Trae and the Hawks. -

I saw a stat that hawks are +31 with JC on the floor and -23 when JC sits. I think that’s indicative of JC taking his game to the next level but also of how bad JJ is. I know it’s only a few games but we need a back up plan for the back up 4 position.- 495 replies

JJ may be worse than Bogi on defense. It’s really bad how easy players get by him. I don’t think it’s lack of effort, he just looks completely lost on d and not much better on offense. He doesn’t know where to stand on either side of the ball. I’d rather see Kaminski (not many options there) next to OO. I don’t think he’d be worse defensively and at least he gives you something on offense. We need shooters. If we could get Crowder for JHol and JJ, I’d be all over that.- 495 replies

Jarrett Culver is getting that 2 way spot. Hasn’t showed anything so far but worth a gamble.

This has to be one of the most entertaining off seasons in recent history

Some of these contracts this year remind me of the ‘16 off-season when teams were counting on a rising cap.

Assuming you were born in '81, you're technically a millennial too...

Probably S&T Ayton and Bridges (and some picks). If I remember correctly, odds for Nets to land Ayton had gone up when the whole Kyrie thing was going on. Kind of makes sense intel was leaked that Durant would go to Phoenix. Vegas is usually the best source.
-
S&T for JC? Otherwise there is nobody (available) in the Heast roster that interests me
-
I still want Ayton but I'm starting to think Capela may be the better fit. What we really need at that position is a lob threat for Trae/Murray, someone that crashes the board consistently and good defense. Obviously Gobert is better at everything I mentioned but his salary and his alleged attitude problems worry me. And of course Trae wants him around.

Wow unprotected 25 and 27 picks.. hope we stay good for a while
-
Heavy price but I think it’ll be worth it. I feel like a junkie, I need more trades. Let’s get Ayton next.
-
I think we’ll end up packaging JC for Murray and we’re probably looking for a third team to offer a first for him to route to SA. I can see Sac offering Barnes and a protected first. The trade would be something like this: Murray and Barnes to ATL, Gallo 23 Charlotte pick, ‘24 1st ATL pick and Sac ‘23 1st to SA, JC to Sac. And then we s&t Ayton for Capela. We can either shop Barnes at the deadline or it’s a nice salary relief next year to re-sign Hunter.
-
If we can land Ayton for $25M a year and by just sending Capela, that’s a no brainer. I’d even send a heavily protected first but it sounds like we have more leverage than we thought. And if our competition for Murray is only NY I think we’re in good shape.

Every ring chasing vet would sign for the min here

I don’t think we have enough picks to get both Murray and KD. Assuming 3 picks go along with Gallo to Spurs. How many picks do you need with JC/OO/Huerter for Durant? I would care very little about the draft anyway if we have Trae, Murray and KD. Man… imagine a lineup of Trae, Murray, Hunter, KD and Capela.
