  1. FA don't really want to come to Atlanta this year. We don't have much PT available and they aren't going to be core pieces. If we are the only team interested, they will come but we just don't have many minutes available. Players on contracts have no say.
  2. He is just mentioning one option. Horford has some suitors. He's still an impactful player especially to young teams. There are a number of guys on the open market who are decent with no suitors at all
  3. New York controls the draft. They can move up and change everything. I am hearing Minny is looking at moving down but they want a lot. For us, we gonna move back no matter what. We are New Orleans 2019. Our money is our greatest asset. Every damn body has been in contact with us. Our financial assets while having a core maybe a killer for free agents, it's a beast for teams in financial binding situation and want to get off some salary of some decent players. We are in a great situation.
  4. Okongwu is likely going 6. To us, probably not. There is suitors and TS wants a future 1st
  5. I doubt it. His value is really low. You have to be truly into prospects from their lower levels like me and TS is to like guys like Anthony. Where you know the difference between a bad season to a peaked player who just isn't as good as hoped.
  6. You know the NBA don't give a shit about levels below. Melo won a title at Cuse by himself. Did it help in the NBA
  7. Lol, Cole Anthony is a good player. Injuries obviously hurt him and the lack of no F2F and no workouts will hurt him worse but he can play. In such a deep PG class. I mean, he's behind, Maxey, Dotson, Lewis Jr, and Maladon and that's just the 2nd tier in terms of team value.
  8. They can go in so many directions but I been telling posters since March, TS really likes Cole Anthony.
  9. Lol, as it should. The shit I am going to be talking... The Hawks are looking for a sharp but I found out that was overstated. He's a rich man's Gary Forbes. He will get picked in the lottery of this draft. He is a sharp and shooting translates the most to the modern NBA but I am not sure he's that high on Atlanta's list.
  10. I know it irked the shit out of Chris to add Obi Toppin
  11. The thing was, many of these kids weren't any good, they were just big and athletic as f***. It's not like today, these kids can play. I don't see the same level of athleticism though as I did when I was growing up. Also the game has become less urban and more suburban. AAU and income level of the parents has completely removed many from what used to be exclusively urban.
  12. I doubt it, once the NBA saw Dwight as the #1 pick, they lean over backwards to give him all of the awards. Lou Williams was #1 in the nation his senior year. Dwight was his Senior year. Favors got it his senior year and that's the last time Georgia had the top guy. Anthony Edwards was a close 2nd to Cole Anthony. I think 247 had Ant as #1
  13. This. Michael Beasley mill. That's when an agent throws your teams name out there because you have the money to drum up interest in their client or to boost the offer of the preferred client.
  14. I know you making jokes. I was fast as shit. I am out of shape and still fast. Genetics my friend. My dad was a track star. It just came late for me. I always joked, I am fast like John Wall with a similar height and built when I was hooping but that's where the comparisons end. It really came overnight. Soph year, I ran a 5 flat and was 135 pounds. Junior year, 4.5 at 180. It was crazy and what insane, I still looked boney as hell. As a soph, someone said I looked just like Lou Williams but Lou is better in every way at Basketball. I was pissed because he was a freshman and I played hard. I didn't realize he was that cold till I played in a league he was in. Lol. Lou was one of the greatest buckets I've seen live. He had this game in high school as a freshman Lou was drawing fans from all over as a freshman. His game against Berkmar, this is when they had Arnold, forgot his first name and they were the best in the state. He killed them. Dropped 40 on their head. He was special. I seen all them boys. Humphreys from Dacula. Toney from Brookwood. When Mercer came to South is when they came up. Played Humphreys, didn't think he was that cold. He could shoot though. At that age we thought Morris was better than Dwight, lol.
  15. Like I said with folks who hated on Cam last year and even at the start of this season, time will reveal. We might end up with Ball
  16. He's already had the growth spurt which I already stated. Come on man, you are better than this. I really hope the Hawks end up with this kid. A lot of eggs will be thrown and I don't plan on getting hit for my opinion. In five years, come again.
  17. As a rookie, not a chance. I wouldn't put that on the kid but he will practice against JC every day if he's a Hawk. We will see first hand if we draft him.
  18. Michael Jordan went from 5'10 to 6'4 was like going from a maybe Juco as a senior while playing JV to best player in America as a HS Junior. Growth spurts are everything along with adding weight. I added 55 pounds in one year. Went from renown trash athlete to running 4.5 and being the most talented in the school and the district. It matters. When you look at guys like Tyler Hansbrough, they been what they been since HS. They didn't improve much in college and they came in legit already. Obi was a 6'5 170 as a HS senior center. Ain't no major college giving you a scholarship at that size with his skill-set. He had great numbers in HS, shit, it was better than JCs even at the same stage. 20/8/3/3. So it wasn't like he couldn't play, he just wasn't physically ready. He needed to redshirt even after prep school. UGA told him he was too small and they pulled their offer sans his prep school coach. A lot of shit opinions and trash posting on this site at times and its bothersome.
  19. We will see. I know you will be wrong. Just like those assholes on RealGM about Cam. I still got boots to neck on them fools Your saving grace is him in some shit like Cleveland. Your L is him in Atlanta. You will quickly see why I said what I said and by year 5. I don't think you will even doubt the man again.
  20. Yes the hell you can, what the hell you talking about saying let's not compare the 80s and 90s. It's just proof that everyone has different developmental trends. Most of the rookies I named related to Toppin was from the last ten years. They all have something in common with Toppin. Unprecedent success in college A growth spurt in size and weight. Steph was 5'11 150 out of Charlotte Christian. Lillard was 5'10 out of Oakland McCollum was literally 5'2 as a HS freshman and grew to 6'1 as a college freshman Toppin was 6'2 140 as a HS Junior and still growing as recently as last year at 6'9 You cannot use his age against him, he's substantially got bigger every single year. Its absolute bullshit to say he has limited potential. To say he plays no defense is pure and utter foolishness. Show me all of the bad NBA defenders who have a good defensive rating in college. Show me all of bad defenders who good defensive metrics in college. Where the hell are they at? 3.3 Defensive box. 90.3 defensive rating. Where they at? Show me the bad defenders in the NBA with decent to great defensive metrics in college. They don't f***ing exist. Saying it makes no sense is pure nonsense. Rubbish http://www.tankathon.com/players/obi-toppin
  21. Development track matters more than your age. Let's look at older prospects Some have Jimmer, Hansbrough, Adam Morrison, Shelden, and Kyle Singler track Some have J.J. Redick, Korver, Bruce Bowen, Doug Christie, De'Andre Hunter, track Some have Nique, and Siakam tracks Some have Brandon Roy, Killian Tille tracks Some have C.J. McCollum, Dame Lillard, Steph Curry, Kuzma, Brandon Clarke, Pippen, Rodman track. Obi has the last track. He's a late bloomer. Not talent or Basketball wise but he is growth and size wise. These types have proven to improve a lot each and every year in the NBA. I would be nervous to draft someone from the first batch. They tend to be extremely productive every year in college since they came in but have peaked and there role in the NBA isn't there. 2nd batch has some bust but mostly productive college players who project as specialists in the NBA. There role projects into the NBA. 3rd is the athletic or skill player that translates and has only been in college so long because he didn't play enough at earlier levels. 4th is the clear NBA prospects identified early in the process but always was hurt and ended up staying to their senior years due to injuries. So many of these guys just never make it. Tragic. This is a dangerous statement. You don't know where he's going to end up. If he ends up here, you could eat your words sooner than later. I hope he does. I will be on that ass too and this will not be the last time I quote this post. I just favorited it on all my devices.
  22. I been peeped the fix is in. The thing is TS likes Obi Toppin a lot. Obviously, we have our value system which is different than our big board but man, Obi is well liked by TS. I can't say everyone in the organization shares the same views but this is an eye of the beholder draft. Shit, everyone sees things differently
  23. The level of stupidity from Brad Rowland and Chris Kirshner is egregious. I honestly think since JC is so good to the media and he's productive unlike Baze, that they kinda have a soft spot for him. They basically have turned him into this KP like value in their mind where you know, he should get the max. In what world should JC get the max? In all impact metrics, it's like hell naw. You don't know how happy I am to have TS and Michelle Leftwich. They have a system that assesses how much you should get salary wise. JC from what I heard is in the same tier with guys like Myles Turner, Zach LaVine at the same age, and Aaron Gordon. Even with that said, it makes no sense to say we are stacked with bigs. Dedmon literally had a min player like impact season while being paid 14 million. Bruno was a G-League player playing mostly NBA mins. It was rough, real rough. Skal been hurt most of the year. Capela was hurt damn near the entire season and doesn't exactly fit JC. JC literally was suspended for 25 games for performance drugs. We have a bigs issue, a wings issue and a backup PG issue. There is a reason we only won 20 games. We need to add players. I don't see how these same idiots are like, let's draft a backup PG who has no shot at overtaking Trae with no restraint or a wing who will never be in the top 3 of the wing rotation over a big like Toppin or Okongwu. Idiot shit! Our beats can have backward ass logic
  24. Jabari Parker and Vince Carter. Backup PF is a big deal in this league. Shit you need a good backup at every position in this league or you are going to be hurting when someone is hurt
  25. We don't need any PF because JC. That's some stupid shit! Take the best damn player available. f*** JC! He's not Anthony f***ing Davis or Giannis. He's f***ing JC. Even if he was AD or Giannis, take the best players. It's not that hard. Just imagine if Indy was like, we can't take Paul George, we have Danny Granger. Let's take Patrick Patterson. I would fire TS so fast if he had the stupid logic I see on here. You want to piss me off, say some stupid shit like this. Don't draft MJ, we got Drexler. Don't draft Luka, we got DeAaron Fox. Stupid f***ing shit! Age ain't no trump card. I already showed why age should not be a discrimination card already earlier in this thread on Toppin. Good damn, I am getting sick of some of you fans
