He is an option. He just got better options as I mentioned. Staying in DEN, Phoenix, New York Knicks,, and MIN.
  2. I would prefer if they tried to land younger stars instead. Diamond DeShields for example. Try to get Wilson. Bring back home Maya, I know she's older but still a beast. I don't know if this draft got that juice this year. I honestly don't know why we got Courtney Williams for. I never thought she was that good. She's the WNBA's Kelly Oubre. Liz Williams is good to me but she's not a great fit in the new system. We need shooters, big wings who can defend and score. Two way wings basically. We need a big like Musselman.

As for Dedmon, we did make an offer for Dedmon in late DEC, it was Turner for Dedmon/a young player not in their rotation(filler), and two 2nd rounders. Kings said they will NOT trade Dedmon attaching any assets. A number of teams called for Dedmon including Dallas. SAC called us before the trade deadline and made the offer of Dedmon for Len/Parker. They wanted Len and they knew we had Parker on the trading block as I stated at that time. Remember, we didn't have Parker on the trading block in DEC. We thought and was told he was going to opt out for a bigger payday. He struggled when John came back and his agent realized he had no market and changed ish and we put him on the block ASAP. We wanted assets to take on Dedmon but Parker changed things.

I've heard there is interest on both sides and it made a lot of sense plus he doesn't have a team who wants to keep him which means we have a legit shot. I've mentioned it earlier in the week, we are looking to get a late lottery-mid first to move up a draft a PG that they covet. I also mentioned that Atlanta is considering keeping both Teague and Goodwin to battle it out for the 3rd string PG spot. Not really. I think it can happen, it's my opinion. It's not like I am saying Atlanta is looking into it. It's just something that makes sense to me and we have a history. Past (player) and recent (he was a player we looked at when we were targeting centers). That said, I have not gotten intel saying Al is wanted by Atlanta. I am saying we should do it. Add a 5-7 WAR player in a perfect fit system as a backup. That would get us over the top for the playoffs. Why not?

To add more to the Horford piece: The Hawks offered Parsons to Cavs for Kevin Love and MIL 1st 2021. I was told CLE declined and wanted Parsons and for Atlanta to give their own Atlanta 2021, lottery protected. Let's just say, Atlanta and Cleveland wasn't seeing eye to eye. As far as Horford. I just didn't think Philly offered enough to entice Atlanta. At that time, that OKC 1st didn't look like it would transfer over and was going to be two 2nds and that wasn't appealing to the Hawks. Chandler Parsons was the centerpiece from Atlanta's end as well. I also think PHI didn't want to give away Horford without getting anything in return. I don't think they put a good offer out there. I do think a TPE is something that they are looking for.

My opinion on likelyihood: Saric - 30%, I think he has a shot to be a Hawk. I haven't heard anything, just my opinion. I think he will cost around 5/6 million which is the range I know they are looking for from this position from what I was told and he's around the age range too. Oubre - 5%, the Hawks really didn't like him years ago and some of those people are still in the org and it's based on my his attitude and mindset. PHX/WAS confirmed, it's still the same. Nets: Chandler - 0% Prince - 0% Hornets: Batum - 0% Zeller - 0% Bulls: Felicio 0% Thad Young - Possible Option in my eyes 20%, Hawks liked him when he was a FA but he really has regressed and doesn't help CHI at all. Mavs: Delon Wright - Possible Option in my eyes 5%, after the latest info, I strongly believe our backup will be a rookie the Hawks moved up to get in this draft. Dwight Powell 0% Nuggets: Grant - 20% Mason Plumlee - 0% One of the hottest FAs this year. Has a lot of suitors from winning teams with Full MLE. Vonleh - 0% Pistons: Damn near everyone but the kids and Rose. Pacers: Justin Holiday - Possible Option in my eyes 5% - Wants big mins. Clippers: Marcus Morris 0%, regressed. Grizzlies Dieng 0% Wolves: James Johnson - 0% Pels E'Twaun Moore - Possible Option in my eyes 75% The most likely Hawk as a FA. Even his minutes fit. Darius Miller - 0% Okafor - 10% Knicks: Portis is all I got for now. Still waiting on more info. 0% Magic: Aminu - Possible Option in my eyes - 20% Sixers: Horford - Possible Option in my eyes - 30%, I honestly think we will consider this, he was one of the trade options around the trade deadline before they got Capela and Dedmon. Options were Adams, Horford, Capela, Dedmon, Baynes, and Drummond. Drummond was not as high on the list as the media tried to frame. Our scouts weren't high on his impact and fit. Adams had the highest grade but we couldn't work out a deal for him. OKC refused and wanted more than what HOU wanted. The Houston deal worked out perfectly for us as well. I really don't think we were super high on getting back Dedmon. It was Dedmon + 6.5 million or Parker and we needed relief ASAP at the 5 considering Len was going through injuries. To be honest, we lost that deal and I don't think TS was hyped to do it either. If we could have gotten Baynes, we would have gotten him instead. Mike Scott - 30% - He's around the cost. Atlanta is looking for and I know they want someone who stretches the floor at the 4.

Minor updates: Readily available players: Suns: Saric - Possible Option in my eyes Oubre - Possible Option in my eyes Nets: Chandler Prince Hornets: Batum Zeller Bulls: Felicio Thad Young - Possible Option in my eyes Mavs: Delon Wright - Possible Option in my eyes Dwight Powell Nuggets: Grant Mason Plumlee Vonleh Pistons: Damn near everyone but the kids and Rose. Pacers: Justin Holiday - Possible Option in my eyes Clippers: Marcus Morris Grizzlies Dieng Wolves: James Johnson Pels E'Twaun Moore - Possible Option in my eyes Darius Miller Okafor Knicks: Portis is all I got for now. Still waiting on more info. Magic: Aminu - Possible Option in my eyes Sixers: Horford - Possible Option in my eyes Mike Scott That's all I got. These are guys on the roster that the team is trying to move via cap/LT reasons, FAs they do not plan to bring back at any cost, or guys who worn out their welcome (Portis).
  9. We gonna miss bad in FA. Weak class and all of the key impact players or key guys who can help or the underrated gems are either returning or going to teams who can offer a lot more PT. It's gonna be the trade market for us.
  10. There is zero percent chance LP would put Edwards in the starting lineup next year. Same for Okoro
  11. I know and there is a reason I said the article is trash Huh?
  12. Clearly not. I was talking long term like three years from now
  13. Jermaine Jackson is not a coddler as well. These are straight up workers. Trae and Melo have a lot in common
  14. He's not better right now much less close but he has superior defensive potential and he's a better perimeter defender right now atm. Offensively, he's not close to Hunter but his offensive potential is expected to be nearly as impactful due to his movement skills, athleticism, BBIQ, first step and explosiveness. Overall, I have doubts about him getting a lot of tick in the rotation year 1 but his potential makes him the prospect I like the most for the Hawks as well.
  15. Who said he's a better fit than Cam? Yes, they think he can be a star. I agree with them. Trae Cam Okoro Collins or Hunter Capela
  16. Yep, tier 2 prospect compared to a tier 3.5 prospect. Lavar is not a coddler, I can't cosign that 2nd statement at all.
  17. And we was going to do it as well if we landed at #2.
  18. I know that. That's why at the bottom, I said this could change due to COVID
  19. Okoro around the 5 and later range literally matches what the purse of the org is right now. If you literally look at 5 to 9, this is the order. Many think Atlanta including myself will skip drafting a PG outside of Ball as they are targeting one for the move up. Atlanta is at #4. Most expect Toppin, Edwards and Ball to be gone by this point. This is
  20. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2873875-report-updated-2020-21-nba-salary-cap-luxury-tax-projections-revealed#:~:text=The salary cap for the,to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
  21. 115 million. The NBA already confirmed it. My guess is they are saying we only have 42 because of the min roster spots but to me, that's silly to do because they will likely be filled by draft picks. It could go down due to COVID but we don't know that yet
  22. For our offensive system, he would be awful with shades of good games in specs. Grant is like Len with high touches but without the skill that Len has as a treat. He's a hot pocket guy with touches like Len but the ability to make a lead play is min. With our style of play, decision making matters too much in perspective. We just don't do it enough as the personnel is Jones, Parker, Len, and while I won't put Collins in that category due to being better than these guys at it, he's not exactly Dedmon(average) either at it. Bruno has potential in time but is raw right now at it. Horford value goes without saying. He's still a pretty good starting center like Millsap is still a pretty good starting PF at an older age. Horford mins needs to be slower like Sap was in Denver. Let's compare him to an ability equal like Aminu or Bjelica which are all best as a backup 4 as Millsap and Horford are just a MUCH higher tier. Aminu is a perfect system fit offensively as a backup. He plays a PDS style of play and his passing leads with +PPP play. Bjelica is even better but his defense is much worse than either player. Is Grant an upgrade over Parker? Offensively, Parker had his advantages over Grant but he didn't fit either for the obvious. Both are terrible with touches in terms of decision making. Jabari is just miles better offensively but he's a blackhole so... Year 1 VC was an massive upgrade over Grant system fit wise. Year 1 VC was a quality backup 4 till he burned out. Year 2 VC was the worst player in the NBA in my eyes. I disagree on Hunter, he's much better with the ball in his hands than any of these guys by a countrymile, but he's exclusively used as our SF so he shouldn't be in the convo. I disagree with that not limited statement, he's like Jabari in terms of being poor decision making wise with touches. Defensively, Grant is a massive upgrade over Jabari, Vince, and Bjelica. I would say he's better than Aminu too due to his shot blocking and athleticism in my opinion. Horford is worth it for us simply due to the obvious. The ability to get an elite offensive fit who is still impactful and plays 24-26 mpg which would massively improve our supporting cast and personnel. Considering Capela potential health concerns and the fact that we don't want to run him into the ground, it makes sense. Horford makes everyone around him better and their jobs easier. Adding a guy like that to a young team has massive advantages especially to our W/L column. The question on Al is the obvious. The contract. 90 million dollars with 70 guaranteed. That's the question. Knowing Travis logic, he's not a fan of these contracts for older players but will he make an exception for an impact player to makes the kids better is the question. Considering Al out is Trae and Kevin contract ends year. I don't like the idea of signing someone to be a defensive player when those guys can be had for nothing at the 4. If you want to sign Grant, you need to know how to use him and make sure you have the system to complement him. A good system for him in Toronto, Orlando, Miami who would be a perfect fit used like Jones Jr. Atlanta asks too much of their 4s and 5s decision making wise. He's not a fit offensively. You can make a case for defense but is that worth it? You can get guys like Skal and Brocher to do that for the min.
