Thanks for the backup, but I'm not worried about if people believe it. I know the source to be reliable and in the end the truth will come out. Till then, we are all just speculating using the sources and info we have. He's told me several offers we had for JSmoove a few months back that were never discussed during that time by the media but now have come out as being offered. (Such as Pierce and Garnett for Smoove) He also said at that time that Josh did not get along with several teammates or Ferry and would not be resigned unless it was an economical deal for the HawksIn the end their will always be haters and no source is ever 100% accurate because the head honchos can always change their minds. I think if Dwight signs with Houston then we can do a SnT with them for Asik or Detroit for a piece. I think we will get something for him

I would love to get Bynum. I might do a deal with a team option in 2nd and 3rd year just in case he gets injured. I would feel comfortable giving him 12 mil or so for 4 years with that deal. I'm leaning more towards the filler roster/tanking idea every day. But I will take signing young players who can grow together also. I think we will see the Hawks more active in signing other players now that Dwight has delivered his news. I have an associate who does some work with Hawks co-owner Gearon.They do discuss Hawks business from time to time at dinner and such. I email him periodically to see what he has heard concerning the Hawks. I asked him if he had heard anything concerning the Hawks meeting with Dwight. This was his response:"The meeting did not go well. Howard is not a fan of the city but likes the team. Likely won't come to atlanta. We are talking to Mayo, Evans, Korver. I know there are numerous other players that we are talking to but i don't have details. "I'm not saying he knows everything that the Hawks brass is thinking, but he has proven reliable to me in the past. Take it for what it's worth.

This doesn't mean as much to me because it seems like one of those loaded questions that players are asked by reporters. "Are you impressed with the coaches you met today dwight?" What else is he going to say but "yes" ? He's not going to insult them by saying he wasn't impressed with them after his 1st meeting with the coaches.

I judge him based upon the success he has had in other franchises. He has done well there. So there is no reason to think he won't be great here. I think it is an impatient attitude which expects a turn around that quickly. Unless we land a Superstar FA it ain't happening like that.

Iverson won an MVP in 2001 but I guess that's not elite, my bad...The question I was responding to when I listed Iverson Allen and Drexler was to name a 2 guard who had accomplished something in the last 20. Years. Leading a team to the finals(Clyde,Iverson,Allen, Manu)and winning an MVP(A.I. In 2001) seems like accomplishing something to me.

Clyde Drexler isn't elite? Might wanna rethink that one. he was a top 50 player in NBA history. He helped to bring two franchises to the Finals.Iverson was as elite as it gets during his prime. Led his team to the Finals.Ask Boston if Ray Allen was elite..Wade had Shaq to carry his teams early on, as did Kobe. Although I would not argue with their status as elite players.I guess I'm wondering what your definition of "elite" is...

I know that the Spurs wanted Josh earlier this year. Perhaps Coach Bud was the one pulling for him. If Bud could use him in a different way (slasher type) then maybe it wouldn't be downright awful for him to return. I honestly believe we have not seen Josh used in the right way so far in ATL.
