  1. It came from the kids mouth, er fingers. Yes we fly under the radar but it is impossible to keep every single agent and player you talk to quiet. I get where its all coming from, but lets quit acting like Ferry is a secret agent and nothing will ever get out to the media unless somebody wants their throat slit.
  2. As a right now thing? Sure. But the NBA already has an issue with the brand. Common people don't like the players, and the big threes handling of situation is just going to make it that much worse. Of course this isn't going to impact true basketball fans, but the fringe people? Id say the mass opinion of the NBA is not entirely glowing. I know a lot of people that swear against the NBA because its "rigged" and "cheap sports" and yada yada yada. You can call them wrong, but don't act like you haven't met people like this too. Do we really think this is helping that image? This whole "what are you doing. Lets team up. Lets not" stuff is creating a league that is viewed as nothing but New York Yankee type of teams. Is that wrong? Thank god we have San Antonio, but the truth remains the same. By and large the rich teams are the contenders and it really doesn't change. No casual "fan" wants to watch this. Sure they might turn out for the Finals, but the rest of the season? Whats the point. The top 5 teams in each conference are almost guaranteed. The Conference Finals are easy to predict as well. This offseason of "tag teaming" rumors just feeds right into that. The casual fan doesn't want to hear about Melo and Lebron pairing up to breeze to a title. They look at that and say, well this season is over. The Finals are bought and paid for. The NBA is going to create a handful of NY Yankee type of teams that have all the talent, and a few good teams that just won't ever be able to compete. Why would anyone that doesn't love Basketball want to watch that? Thats the difference in basketball and football. Football is widely popular because anything can happen. Basketball is almost signed, sealed, and delivered before the season even starts. Lets say Melo and Gasol go to LA. The Finals next year will be some combo of LA/Houston/OKC/Spurs and Heat/Hawks/Pacers/Wizards. Id say there is a 75% chance it is one of those teams. Which is why the NBA will never have tremendous ratings on par with the NFL and CFB.
  3. Thats interesting since we are one of his main suitors...... Either he is getting more than we have thought, therefore hurting our chances for a guy like Deng, or we have something in the wings that Bazemore has to wait on
  4. If they all go back to Miami I will dislike them 100x more. This isn't a game. These are guys livelihoods and while you flirt with teams for no reason, some other guy is trying to get paid. Just think of all the money this has cost the NBA. I think they get off knowing the NBA stops and waits on their every move.
  5. Id think either Chandler is our under the radar player, or he told Ferry he wasn't coming here. I doubt we'd go after some of the guys we had if Parsons was truly available to us
  6. The Atlanta one is awful.... AWFUL. I would think the Pacman logo with the Falcon cut out would look better.
  7. This is kinda dumb. Half of these guys are hall of famers because they won. Kind of like the old saying " stars are born in the playoffs". And who was Dirks second HOF? Oh just saw the list above. Where is the post Shaq Kobe?
  8. Even from the age aspect. In 3 years you could be paying a 27 year old 12+ million in his prime Or a 33 year old Millsap 12+ million for his decline and possibly a backup PF. I love Sap. But age is definitely a factor here.
  9. Can anyone think of a better way to spend 3 million bucks? Lol. Kids entertaining
  10. Totes worth another thread.
  11. If we SnT Millsap for monroe and paid monroe like 12 million(3 more than Millsaps cap hit), wouldn't we still have 8 million with a possibility to add a few million to that? Couldn't we conceivably get Monroe AND Deng?
  12. Let's just SnT Millsap for monroe and be done with it. I'm under the belief that we won't be true title contenders for a t least 2 to 3 years. In 3 years who would you rather have? 27YO Monroe or 33YO Millsap
  13. Our ownership loves money. It's also the reason why I laugh at all the "tankers". The owners are never going to purposefully leave money on the table by missing the playoffs.
  14. We need young. Your new wings for 2014: Thad and Thab
  15. If ariza would sign for 8 or less I would say yes. But anything more than that and you have to go with Deng
  16. What was Thabo making? Cause I'm sure we will get similar production
  17. One thing I just noticed about Bazemore is his FT shooting. Career 60.8%. What now?
  18. So we all know that Deng "seems" to be our number one priority right now and would eat up most of our cap to the point we're just signing scraps to fill the team. So what do we think the plan is if Deng falls through? We've been linked to Bazemore. Do we think he is the next wing target in line? PJ Tucker? This scenario would leave some money behind as well for a separate decent player. Jordan Hill perhaps? What say you? What do you think happens if Deng goes elsewhere? And secondly, would you prefer Deng at 11 million or a PJ Tucker/Jordan Hill type combo.
  19. I have NEVER understood the point of being a fan if you're just going to be eternally pessimistic about them. How is that fun? Lol.
  20. If he gets over 10 I'll call Thabo a waste. What's the point in having all his buddies on your team if he doesn't take a pay cut? Lol
  21. Apparently teams are looking at SnT offers with the Suns for PJ Tucker. Do we think this could be a good use for Salmons? Only if we miss on Deng of course
  22. I could see they'd want Jenkins because of Van Gundy but why would they want Musk?
  23. That wouldnt get us anywhere near the cap hit of monroe
