  1. This feels like 2 separate issues though. The asset management is one thing. That's been a mess for years. The financial side is another. I get the "AH THEY'RE SO CHEAP" stuff. I do. But at the same time.....do fans really want to go in the tax for John Collins? Collins is a very good player, but is not worth that on *this* team. His role is diminished. To improve his role you would have to remove/change other pieces. Is that what some wanted? Do you want to bury JJ behind Bey and Collins while also paying Collins $25 million(and LT)? This roster has been together for awhile, albeit under some pretty terrible coaching. If you keep everyone and everything the same you can't afford to make any changes. Do we really think the roster yesterday was a title contender *this* year? You have one year before you'd have to make other changes in regards to OO, DJ, and Bey. I just have a hard time understanding what fans *wanted* the team to do here(outside of going back 3 years to get real value from Collins)?
  2. I'm really having a hard time agreeing with this deal. Bogi is a pretty "old" 30 years old whose body already has issues with sustained minutes.
  3. That was my exact thought when he threw that full court outlet pass too lol. Quin just sitting there like "Ummm, why tf were yall not playing this guy??"
  4. I hope to never listen again. I was promised Koonin knocking them down a peg so had to follow Jay's link lol.
  5. Main points. Tried to say JC and DJ were sending Trae a message with their comments on Wednesday. Koonin slapped that shit down and said there isn't some grand conspiracy. Were pretty rude about the excuses absence "Well hyuck hyuck was that even true?" to which Koonin got pretty heated(for a professional). Tried to start some bullshit about Trae handpicking the HC to which, again, Koonin gave them the professional backhand. Just 10 minutes of them being the little f*cks they are.
  6. All the people clowning us for this can now go EAD
  7. Congrats on being 4th place. You get no medal lol
  8. Me whenever REH calls in his thugs lol
  9. 100%. The only time I met any Hawks fans was when I lived IN Atlanta. The second you go outside the perimeter....they all disappear lol. I wear a black Hawks polo a decent amount of the time. Every time I meet a new group of people for something someone always asks, "Wait, you're like, an actual Hawks fan?".
  10. LOL, my man you could have grown up in Atlanta/Atlanta suburbs and STILL not have had a single Hawks fan friend
  11. We have radio stations blaming his DAD and still also have people saying "Oh come on the Atlanta media is sofftttt". Soft but toxic AF.
  12. Shoot not even just Steph. Warriors have an elite playmaker(Dray) AND another lethal catch and shoot scoring option(Klay). Trae has none of that.
  13. In before the Mavs fire Kidd and the narrative isn't anywhere close to this for Luka.... PS... Trae hasn't had 3 of his top running mates leave him. (Irving pending)
  14. So what you're saying is somebody needs to take a bat to Traes knee so we can tank for a season lol
  15. You've said that to multiple people now my man lol. I don't think it's us.
  16. That doesn't even make any sense. Do you think UGA thinks they didn't hire the right person in Kirby Smart? Interviews are necessary EXCEPT when you already know everything about the candidates. Again, Kyle Korver has more information about the candidates, save Ime, than anyone who would interview them.
  17. Yup. The benefits are great IMO. Give him a chance to see if JC works or if we should move him. A chance to see if JJ works. A chance to see if vets on the bench work. The Hawks(from the tippy top at Ressler down to the 15th roster spot) have to get this right or they'll alllllll screwed. Shit they may need to get it right by the end of next season or they're all screwed.
  18. Nah. Hawks don't have the luxury of betting on the guy with the best "vision". They *need* results. There's like a 95% fail rate of picking a coach because he blew you away in the interview. Hawks have a very unique luxury for this situation in Kyle Korver. He has intimate knowledge of their skills and what these guys are *actually* like as coaches. That beats a good "vision" or interview 10 times outta 10.
  19. The Hawks HAVE to get away from constantly pushing success further down the time line. For example. We all knew Nate sucked after last year. But you couldn't fire him, so progress pushed back at least a year. Hawks don't have any time left to waste now. They've got a minimal amount of time before it's full rebuild season again. Giving Quin a head start to do what he does not only keeps us from wasting another year, it also helps justify wasting half this season with Nate (somewhat).
  20. More on that line. The Hawks really need to "set" the roster if they're actually going to be successfull. No more, maybe we should trade JC? Or let's move a key piece for money. Or let's completely redo the bench in one offseason. Set the roster, whatever that may look like, except for moves to improve on the Margins. Giving Quin a head start helps with that immensely
  21. For the final part, I disagree. Quin will have no real idea who fits what he wants until he sees it "long" term in practice/games. Is it not better to evaluate that and adjust *before* the offseason than *after* it? Just feels like an unnecessary waste of time. Quin will have a chance to see what guys he can develop/change/fit. If he realizes JJ just won't work in his system(example not reality), it's much better to trade him and remedy that in the offseason than wait until 2 months into the season next year to figure it out and shuffle the roster. Again.
  22. Is there really a need to interview when your assistant GM is verryyyy familiar with every guys ability to coach? Minus Ime
