  1. Again Schröder make it into the team:http://nba.si.com/2013/07/22/las-vegas-summer-league-jonas-valanciunas-kent-bazemore-john-henson-dennis-Schröder/?sct=uk_t12_a5
  2. I votet for shredder, since when your reporters pronounce him it often sounds like that and not like the german Schröder I just heard someone call him him Euro Hawk in a german discussion board, which is a military scouting drohne who germans and a us enterprise developed but failed to check is it can fly by law
  3. maybe you should proove it the other way round first
  4. Teague isn't tradeable before deadline, or am i wrong?
  5. in german league the team are composed of 6 national player and 6 foreign players. Usually the foreign players have the most responsibility(the six germans get in average 30% of the playing time), the foreign players are mostly second tier college stars with some extra years pro experience and developing. In europe game you ask for a bit different skillset then for the usual US ball, you have less space then in the nba to penetrate so that you play a much more systematic ball and favors player with good fundamentals more then the athletics in comparision to the US leagues.
  6. I won't say that this game give dennis the attention of the scouts, nearly everytime he played in germany(at least after 10-15 games of the last season) there was 1-4 scouts in the croud mostly to watch him, and one time even the gm from houston. The summit, brought him the attention of the media.
  7. DS gets some attention from ESPN, first in the grades for his game: http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/61587/the-strip-day-6 Dennis Schröder, Hawks: 16 PTS | 5 AST | 3 STLSchroder recovered from a first quarter in which he posted three turnovers to turn in the afternoon's best performance. At the end of regulation, he shook McCollum out of his shoes so badly to free John Jenkins for a jump shot that the gasps were audible in the arena. With every game, Schröder is building a reputation as a player with a game beyond his years. B+ And also a chapter in the daily dimes for his summerleague games so far: http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/dime-130717/daily-dime (point 3)
  8. I has to confess i am here on this board because of Schröder, and would be excited and happy when he gets the chanche to start. BUT i like Teague game, and i think he is much better then DS at the moment so i don't think it would be start to bench him for Schröder. I can imagine maybe some games where Schröder and Teague play together, with teague acting like a creative SG since after Teague the Hawks Guards ain't the best.
  9. But it isn't like you have to pay him more then he would earn in europe, so why would they decline the hawks offer?I guess, nobody in Utah discusses this over Burke even if US players have the same rights.
  10. What i forgot to mention, the reports about this signing sometimes mention that it isn't sure that he plays NT. Opposing to the DBB press release, i talked about previously.
  11. http://www.newyorkerphantoms.de/presse/news/einzelner-beitrag/article/weg-fuer-dennis-Schröder-in-die-nba-geebnet.html (in german you can use google translate, or trust me) this news from his old team means that the hawks used the NBA buyout in Schröder contracts. In other sources it is rumored that the buyout was 550.000$ and Schröder particpated at the buyout in asking for 100.000$ less in his contract. There were some concern about the form of the contract, the NBA couldn't sign a contract to this point, while the Phantoms insisted on a contract prior the approval. Since they feared a serious injury during the summerleague, which leads to the hawks forfeiting there will to buy him out and let the phantoms pay a injured player one year. But they finally agreed to a verbal agreement.(i believe also a reduction of the buyout was part of the negotiations) One source about the reduced salary and negoitations. From the biggest newspaper in germany, who often released news from questionable sources so they often find or released scandals first but also writes bullshit from time to time(the problems with the non-verbal contract was also part of other newspaper reports). http://www.bild.de/sport/mehr-sport/dennis-Schröder/sein-nba-wechsel-stand-kurz-vorm-scheitern-31205894.bild.html
  12. For peoplle who like stats: http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&p1=teaguje01&y1=2013&p2=jennibr01&y2=2013&p3=ellismo01&y3=2013 Teague is the best in a lot of the advanced Stats like PER, Winshares. And if you look at his production per 36 minutes he scores just 2,5 point less then ellis and 1,5 less then jennings with nearly two more Assist and less shots. So you can argue that he have a bigger impact on the offense, without beeing such a crappy volume shooter. But Jenning FG%, isn't so bad since he takes a lot threes with a high percentage so his true sshooting is at least better then the one from Ellis who also takes many threes but barely hit then. But jennings would be an ok deal for you, since when he learns when to shoot his offense should get better and this should be easier then improving the Jump shot and i see a lot of potential in him
  13. I believe he would be starting PG at least for the next year, he is still young and projecting player development is hard. So maybe he stays in front of him, or maybe he won't. But for the case he won't stay in front of schröder i see no problem to trade him, i believe that would be in the intrest of the hawks too since you should also get a more needed starter for him.Jenning should be an upgrade in comparision to him, but i believe the hawks have more important needs to work on first and having a PG who knows the system is always good.Jennings >> Ellis for sure
  14. Which gives the option to make a sign an trade, but i hope he will also keep Teague. With one exception the Deal who was rumored here, who gave then Vasquez in a sign and trade with teague. But usually consistency on the 1 is good, and what i hear and read about Teague he is a good player for a reasonable price.

    The Rookies

the " 3 years" was wrong i see that now more clearly. This one was directed to: I was happy to find a source now, who explains it a bit more in detail. Since i never understood, why players should be happy about getting drafted in the second round if it only limit your choiches to one club instead of giving you the possibility to negotiate with 3-4 clubs who finds you intresting. So i at least know now, that they need to offer him a contract, even when it isn't a contract you can count on.

    The Rookies

not 100% right, the team had to offer him a contract to retain his rights. usually it is a non guaranteed one, so he get fired after accepting it. In this case he counts as waived, and other team can claim him off waivers. If i understood this right, and the source is trustworthy: http://data.shamsports.com/content/pages/data/draft/unsigneddraftpicks.jsp Edit: Even if i lack to udnerstand why signing those contracts is so abd, knowing you doN't have a chanche anymore at this team and are just a trade asset. And maybe other teams are still intrested in you, but don't want to offer anything for you and offer "your" minmum contract to someone else.

First round draft picks, you have to offer a contract. Which is pretty much a standard one, with a salary depending on the draft pick and +/- some percent depending on the negoating skills. The player is the only one who can say no, but he can not join a different NBA team them. The player need to accept the contract withim 2 season afaik. Second round draft picks, the drafting club got the exclusive ,right to negotiate with the player without limitations for the salary for the next 3 years. Both said prior draft that they want to play right away in the NBA if they get chanche, so if you don't want them don't draft them first round. Maybe at the end of the first round they might be situations, where it makes more sense to stay in europe for them since the salary difference is lower or maybe the salary is even higher in europe. Edit: thats why the Mavericks downtradet this draft, to get a sheeper salary instead of picking the best player avaiable and don't make him an offer in the first year if they could land on howard. The question for this thread who makes sense should be: Should we sign Muscala right away, or should we let him develop overseas?

you signed nogueira and schröder through the draft :)

    The Rookies

Just because they are Euros you can not send them overseas. You have to offer them the contract, and they earn much more in the States so you could be pretty sure they will take it. I doubt you would ask the same, if you get an american players even when it would be an similiar decision. Let them in europe is usually a option when they have predraft a long and good contract, or more likely if you get them into the second round where in the past often the first picks was europeans cause of it. Schröder have an exit clause in his contract for the NBA, and he would earn up to 100.000$ if he keep it. So ask yourself what you would do Also i posted in the Schröder thread that he will play for the national team, in this report they also said that they agreed on an insurance for him which wouldn't be the case if Schröder don't have the contract for sure. Also the play on the point guard spot is quite different with FIBA rules, so i doubt it would be good for his development if he adjust to it(right now he plays a style which transforms well to the NBA), develope the "wrong skillset" and come back to atlanta where he have to get back to his old game. Nogueira is in the same situation like a player who finish college, he have no contract. So why decline that, to get a worse one. Silly question for me.
  20. Newspaper report that Dennis will play for the german Nationalteam, and join the team on 22. Juli to prepare for the european Championchip(start 4th september end 22. september but most likely earlier for the germans)
  21. By he way, i missed this foto book made by the pr partner from his former club: http://issuu.com/moodmood/docs/dennis-rz I think it is a pretty cool review of his career, and it is in english :)
  22. The only for this topic i had, is that he got pouted in the BBL and get a better and better basketball player asking for more responsibility and organised the play that way that the extra strength of the opponent isn't much of a problem. He also isn't afraid of etablishing contact with center etc., who are bigger and stronger then at the college even when he isn't really good at finishing this way. For his example his teammate: http://www.braunschweiger-zeitung.de/sport/phantoms/die-center-entscheiden-die-spiele-nicht-id792513.html&docid=9i8gK7veJNBIC looks stronger then at college where we counted as very athletic Who playing the Olympics 2012 for England and former Duke and ASU Player(final year 28minutes, 8,8Pts, 7 Rebs) Or Nick Schneiders his backups who measures 7"3 NCAA1 final season 2.7 blocks 9.5 points, 6.1 rebounds And Braunschweig was one of the weaker teams
  23. PS: how i can edit the post here. About the season ender, the coach was quite relax and didn't make a big deal out of it.
  24. hard to tell, i didn't know him personally and depending on interview i would come to the same conclusion like you(most likely i know some more of them). Also i should note, that most interview come from the past year where a lot of people said he made an positive attitude change as well. But there where a couple of incidents, in his past: - he got suspended for one game for the U18 Nationalteam together with another player, through disciplinary reasons. (2 years ago) - he got suspended for one game, middle of last season for coming late or missing a training. Another team mate said(who left the team in an heated argument) that he was just one times 5 minute to late, while the "US Pro's" did it regulary without consequences. Rumors Dennis said that he was sometimes disrespectful to the athletic trainer of the club. - one thing which doesn't go to the media that much, that he also get benched for the last game of the season and doesn't wanted to play when the coach wanted to sub in for the last minutes. Schröder said he was cold, and doesn't wanted to risk an injury prior the draft for a game which was decided(an even when it wasn't decided win or loss wouldn't make a difference). The reason that he got benched, was a missed training again(the unit where you prepare for the enxt opponent) also the coach said that he wanted to give player who might stay or didn't have the chanche to presentate in prior games a chanche. I believe he also said, that Dennis was often in his mind in america this week.(not sure if this means that he just was unconcentratet in training or wanted to prepare for workout at NBA teams etc.) - On the court: Some people don't like his expression on the court, who seems to be "arrogant". But i don't give much on it, since lot of the people saying that also meant that Kevin Hamilton an ex player of us look careless and not aggressive enough - and he was maybe the strongest defender on this team and got a lot rebounds a s a guard. Maybe he have sometimes troubles to focus during a game, since he made more "simple" errors then usual player - but on the other hand he is very clutch and look for responsibility in the endgame. So yes there are still reasons for doubts. But he get discribed as a hard worker with the poise to win from nearly everyone, and i doubt he would be here if he wasn't(especially since he started pretty late with basketball)
  25. I hope Schröder will join your Summerleague team, since i believe this would be necessary for him to etablish in the NBA and earn playing time(learn systems, learn the difference betwen FIBA and NBA game, to get to know his teamates etc.) Atleast the german national coach, still likes to discuss his summerplans with him and the Hawks since the summerleague is paralell to the preparation from the nationalteam for the European Championship. I am quite sure Schröder will join the Hawks in the Summerleague, but it isn't a fact yet.
