  1. I wouldn't say overrated. His contract is perfect for what he brings. Brooklyn is overvaluing him though.
  2. I answered your question in my previous post. Yes, I think he'll be a better defender than Bey once he understands defensive positioning and team concepts. You didn't answer question. Did you see improvement in him from his Duke tape compared to his rookie season tape?
  3. Yes! You comparing a rookie to a 4 year vet. A very young rookie at that. You were lower on him in your draft evaluations because of his defense. Are you telling me you didn't see improvement from his college film to his rookie season? Even you admitted in a thread his defense was better than you expected during the season. That's not saying it was great all the time, but when you look at college vs nba, there was tons of improvement there.
  4. AJ was a rookie and you talking like he a five year vet. To me, AJ offensively is a 2/3 and defensively eventually will be able to guard 2/3/ and some 4s adequately. That's not saying all defense out there. He got ate up on defense at times but show marked improvement from his college film. He wasn't healthy during last summer and now he is. I expect a leap offensively and defensively this year.
  5. I'm in on Whitehead because of his age, upside, and team fit, but I'm also in on Lively for his defensive upside. Whitehead, even though injured, was a good defender and spot up three point shooter. He's supposedly 6'7" in shoes with a 6' 10" wingspan, and strong frame. The Hawks need some help on with their perimeter defense and he has the potential to do that. If he turns back into his high school, playmaking, tough shot-making self, then we have a gem. If he just turns into a great three and d player, that also fills a need for the team. @Spud2nique are you out on Dariq now? I've been busy with work so haven't been able to get to know prospects like previous drafts. At 15, I'd be happy with a long list of players in no order. 1. Dereck Lively 2. Dariq Whitehead 3. Leonard Miller 4. GG Jackson 5. Nick Smith Jr. 6. Maxwell Lewis 7. Anthony Black (not likely there at 15) 8. Taylor Hendricks (not likely there at 15) 10. Kobe Bufkin - I've watched some scouting videos of him lately and he pops on the screen.
  6. Not piling on in my opinion. I'm torn on Brown. Playing with Trae would do wonders for his offensive game. The problem is him, Trae , and Murray don't fit. Brown isn't a three and his defense hasn't been that good since he's taken a leap offensively. If Brown and Murray step up on the defensive end, then it might can work. But then, what do you do with Hunter? It's just so many roster questions.
  7. Maxwell Lewis is on my list too. I forgot to add him above. So we got 4 players we both like.
  8. I haven't kept up with the draft like normal. I'm going to really dig in and start looking at prospects in the next couple of weeks. I hope work slows down so I can see who fits best. I like the following in no order of preference. 1. GG Jackson 2. Dereck Lively 3. Dariq Whitehead 4. Nick Smith Jr. 5. Taylor Hendricks 6. Leonard Miller 7. Brice Sensabaugh Who are you liking @Spud2nique?
  9. 1. Taylor Hendricks 2. Maxwell Lewis 3. Dariq Whitehead - the obligatory former top 5 duke player that falls. He'll most likely be the pick...lol 4. Dereck Lively 5. Nick Smith Jr.
  10. I missed the game. Had plans to watch the draft with friends. Not going to read through this thread, probably the same people being miserable about everything. I'm glad the guys fought hard and Trae got his confidence back. Our future is bright with Quin. This team has to learn how to win consistently in the regular season and I believe we'll make a deep playoff run after that.
  11. This is what killed the Bucks against Miami last night.
  12. In this series, OO may be better getting more minutes.
  13. Considering Trae is a part of the team, looks like you should be rooting for him instead of pointing out every negative of what was a pretty masterful game going up against the number 2 rated offense and defense in the league. You are entitled to your opinion, but stay over there in misery island.
  14. The talking heads are not talking about this, but to this point in the series, Trae has been the best player on the floor. He has cut down on his turnovers AnD he's playing decent defense.
  15. These talking heads are twisting themselves into knots to not give Trae credit. They've already written their narratives, "Hawks want to trade Trae; he is a cancer in the locker room, his teammates hate him; what can AtL get for him? His stock is so low? This man just carried his team against the title favorites and got the Resslers an extra playoff game. They ain't trading him. Also, jaylen Brown didn't defend Trae at all and gave him all that space to get his shot off. The above is what Jay Williams was talking about. Get that mfer off my screen.
