  1. Clint is an analytical darling though so he'll be in the top 50. If not, I'll be shocked. All those defensive lovers will probably have him much higher because of his blocks, rebounding and offensive efficiency.
  2. So to get to the overall point I was arguing. Who are the sacred cows that shouldn't be in front of Jalen his first year as a rookie? That shouldn't be a tough conversation. There are none.
  3. That's not what a sacred cow is though. Basically a sacred cow can do no wrong, no matter how terrible they are. The players in front of Jalen are John Collins, Gallo, Hunter and Reddish (You can argue Huerter and Bogi too). Of those players, which should not have a rotation spot ahead of Jalen? It can be argued that Hunter and Reddish's ceilings are just as high, if not higher than Jalen's. Gallo is a vet and if Jalen proves he's better than Gallo then we have something cooking, but I don't expect a raw rookie to come in right away and contribute what Gallo does. To me, there are no sacred cows. The Hawks just have a very deep team and for those of us excited about Jalen, we understand that we have other young talented players too. I'm super excited for Jalen and hope he leaps frogs everyone his first year, because that's great for the Hawks. I just don't see that happening his first year and that doesn't mean I don't see the potential in Jalen. I'm super excited to see what he becomes, but I'm just excited to see what Cam, Dre, Hunter, OO, Cooper, and JC become too.
  4. Please elaborate on these sacred cows playing in front of him.
  5. I feel a special season coming up this year. Let's get this Championship in your age 23 season.
  6. 1. Trae Young is top 2 in MVP Voting. 2. Hawks finish in top 10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency. 3. Hawks finish top 2 in the Eastern Conference. ( I would say as the number 1 seed, but want to give myself some wiggle room).
  7. Good insights from Bogi. https://theathletic.com/2828578/2021/09/17/bogdan-bogdanovic-on-his-knee-deandre-hunter-and-a-new-mentality-for-the-hawks-this-season?source=user-shared-article
  8. I should clarify my answer. This season I don't want either. However, if you are saying if I had to trade for one of the two, it'll be MPJ in my opinion. You can teach team defense, but you can't teach great to good offense.
  9. Who brought me all my presents last Christmas!?!
  10. If he or TLC are your 15th players, that's quality depth. They will be much better than the 15th players on most teams. I don't mind the signing. Gives us another big body for training camp. Edit: I also know it's non-guaranteed which is even better.
  11. Full JJ run from earlier in the summer.
  12. Wall isn't a better shooter though. Not sure how his defense is either. Like @JayBirdHawk says adding Wall's salary will cause them to have a huge tax bill.
  13. Lol..I'd have Mitchell one and Tatum two. No idea why the media just acts like Tatum is so much better than Mitchell.
  14. I hope Trae stays his entire career and brings Atlanta several championships.
  15. Good luck moving that contract Houston. He's going to have to get a buy out.
  16. I can see Fox being ahead of him, but not Lonzo...lol.
  17. It's the boring time of the year, so why not do this exercise. I can honestly put him anywhere from 3 - 5 . There is no way Lonzo Ball should be ahead of John Collins. Here are John Collin's rank in his class. I haven't verified these, but he sure looks like the 3rd - 5th best player. Where would you rank him?
  18. MVP is a narrative and popularity contest. So you are basing your idea based off of media and not play on the court? How about Luka does what Trae did and get his team to the conference finals? If the Hawks wanted to trade Trae, they could get any point guard outside of Curry probably and they may be able to get Curry if GS is looking to the future. Luka's top 10 is subjective. Trae being 15 is subjective. You look at what they do on the court and the success they've brought their team. Luka had the edge the first two years even though Trae's supporting cast wasn't stellar. Trae took it to another level in the playoffs and got his team to the ECF. Something Luka hasn't done. So outside of media hype, what has Luka accomplished to make you need to see more from Trae?
  19. Nothing questionable about a nonguaranteed contract for a training camp body.
  20. https://www.basketballnews.com/stories/top-10-players-under-age25-for-the-202122-season From 16th on Espn before last season to number 2 this season on basketballnews.com. It's amazing what happens when you surround a budding young superstar with competent talent.
  21. What's your definition of a superstar and what puts Luka so far ahead of Trae? What makes you say Trae needs to do it again to be considered a superstar? Trae is clearly the number two player in his draft and he's now widely viewed across the league as a star. The consensus is he's at a minimum a top 20 player in the league at 22. Most have him top 15. The only thing that separated Trae from Luka in the eyes of many across the league was exposure. Trae got exposure during the previous playoff run and many started to say he was a superstar.
  22. In one of Travis' most recent interviews he did say Cam was 6'9".
  23. LOL! Man that was one of the best predictions of my life...pure luck is all it was.
