I don't think it's that people aren't rooting for Mays. I believe people are just more excited by the potential the rookies are showing. Mays is doing what I expect him to do and glad he isn't struggling in the summer league setting.

The only passes I've seen him force are the behind the back ones. Other than that, he's very patient in the half court setting, but like you, I think he's too unselfish and should be more aggressive at times.

He has tons of potential. However, I'd like to see him in a few preseason games before saying he's definitely back end of the rotation. If he wins a spot in the rotation from camp and preseason, then I'll be happy. I think he'll probably have Solo's minutes or some back up PF minutes when Gallo needs a rest. With OO being out, there will be some extra minutes to work him in. I think he'll still spend a lot of time in College Park. He definitely has something different on our roster with his skillset. He's like a combination of Cam, John and Hunter. It's an exciting time to be a Hawks fan. The best thing about our depth is our second and even third team may give our first team a run for their money in practices. So much versatility everywhere.

I'm only comparing both of their summer play.

He's playing nothing like Tyler Dorsey did that summer league. I think Tyler may have passed the ball once to Trae...lol Tyler was a blackhole and just jacked up shot after shot. Mays is picking his spots much better and getting his teammates involved.

Impressive start in summer league for the 20th pick. John Collins esq efficiency and rebounding. He has shown me more in these few games than he did at Duke. Remember he was in the 90th percentile in spot up shooting during his college career. Very exciting to see he and Sharife perform well. Mays looks very good. I still think he will be on a two way deal from the Hawks.

My comment regarding a four year contract was for after the season. Not really sure you can do that though and are probably limited to a three year contract.

Like I said I'm debating his prediction of a bust from watching a few summer league games and reading media reports. We seem to be coming to the same conclusion we dont think Jalen will be a bust. You haven't failed, but I'm saying you will right now.

So in my mind, nire is currently calling Jalen a bust, but doesn't understand I'm refuting his prediction of Jalen being a bust. If that mental gymnastics makes sense.

I saw that and lol. He's very good, but you can't put him ahead of players who've won Championships and made deep runs in playoffs on multiple occasions.

He should know our lead villian (anti-hero) is very successful.

You are entitled to have your opinions. No one is mad at you for having them. Just don't sit here and act like you calling someone a bust from three summer league games is not what you did. If I called you a blue alien doesn't mean you are. I stilled called you a blue alien. If you think he will be a bust, then stick with your guns and don't be personally be offended when someone debates you on it. You spelled out the reasons you think he won't succeed. It'll be pretty hard for Jalen not to be in the league for four years so by your own criteria he will most likely be successful. I think he will at least get a second contract.

Y'all really in here overreacting. You can't take much from summer league. Jalen put up 13 and 11. He wasn't pouting on the court and still had some good defensive plays down the stretch. Reed took his lunch, He'll have to learn how to fight through that adversity. Doesn't mean he's going to be a bust. Doesn't mean he won't be a bust. It's just summer league. Jalen's shown enough flashes for me to be happy with his performance thus far.

I shouldn't be this upset over a summer league loss. The guys that matter performed well.
