  1. NBA Executives. Didn't ask anyone in the Hawks..lol This is trash!
  2. Way too skilled to be Nerlens. He does have a lot of defensive upside.
  3. Nope. He ain't that good..lol The LouWill role would be perfect for him, but he'll need to improve his playmaking.
  4. Agreed. I was just commenting on Sexton. He's actually a really good young player. The Portland deal doesn't make much sense. but he'd probably be a good fit on another team looking for a young scoring guard. I can't think of that team off the top of my head..lol
  5. I don't really either, but it depends on how they value a young improving player. Maybe they see some trade value there if he's on a winning team putting up those numbers?
  6. Popularity in the nba is not down. How people consume the NBA is much different than previous generations. I believe they measure by hours spent watching the product to price the deals. Social Media makes the NBA one of the biggest sports in the world. If you don't have a TV deal you can't be posting highlights, etc. on social media that get interactions and also make these companies money. Again, the Hawks may not have as much trouble keeping their core as some may believe.
  7. I think you have that backwards. Gallo is likely the first to go do to the structure of his contract. Then Client and Bogi.
  8. Sexton is really underrated by people outside of Cleveland. He's an efficient 24 point scorer. He needs to work on his playmaking, but he's a very good young player that's continued to improve each season.
  9. Cap will go up significantly in 25-26 season. The Hawks will not be in Luxury tax hell if the cap goes up double. The new TV deal is expected to by about $75 billion. That's up more than triple from the current $24 billion deal. If the Hawks anticipate this and plan to stay out of the Luxury tax one extra season, they only may pay tax two seasons and then drop out of it in the 25-26. Many teams are willing to pay that if you have a championship level team and can keep them together through their primes.
  10. What we give up also has the potential to be better than Wiseman. We waste 2-4 years of prime Trae to hope and wish Wiseman reaches his potential? I'm not against getting Wiseman. I'm against the package you offered. All that depth given up would put us back at square one.
  11. This idea that we should trade just to make a trade is ridiculous. I'm not saying don't trade anyone, but we have time before luxury tax becomes a concern. Why not see how the team does next season and then make trades? The TV deal is supposed to at least double in 24-25. We can keep everyone if the tax line moves way up.
  12. This thread is getting more outrageous with each post supporting this trade. I have no idea why no one wants to run it back with a healthy squad (minus OO) to see what we really have. Then we should start making trades to address needs. Wiseman is a good young big, but to give up that much depth is crazy!!!
  13. I'm also a fan of this kid here. There's tons of unlocked potential. He can be a good defender once he puts on some weight, but the shotmaking is real.
  14. Looks like Nate's rounding out his staff.
  15. Haha I don't get mad, but these young kids are coming with legitimate shooting potential. It doesn't mean it'll translate though.
  16. @NBASupes Keep an eye on this guy. If he offers any defensive upside, he would be perfect to pair with OO.
  17. To me, this is a good deep draft. From about 10 - 35 you have plenty of players with upside but with some flaws that will take time to iron out. There are for going to be some really good players found later in this draft. Good being solid starter material.
  18. Agreed. Like I said, if he'd take the mid-level exception AND a backup role. You run to sign that deal, but that isn't likely to happen and wishful thinking on my part.
  19. In my scenario, I was mentioning DeRozan taking a back up role which means you would pair him with Gallo. If he would take the mid-level exception, which both scenarios are highly unlikely, DeRozan could play with Trae because he can still shoot 16 foot midrange with pretty great accuracy. As a backup, he'd be better than anything we could hope for and has the ability to play along side Trae if need be. He'd also have the spacing needed with the second unit with Huerter, Cam and Gallo.
  20. He can want 4/$60 million, but that doesn't mean that's his market. His market isn't that at all and he'll still be a backup here were I don't see him turning into a young Demarcus Cousins out there. He wouldn't stop the Hawks from resigning anyone. At this point he'd be lucky to get above the minimum. Edit: I'm not trading 20 for Bamba either. Just saying if they work out some trade for him I wouldn't be upset. Don't know what that would intel though.
  21. He won't get anywhere near a max and may be a good young big to have on a good deal for three or four years. He hasn't shown much production and has been injured.
  22. Derozan has improved his playmaking and is great in the midrange. If he would come him for the mid-level you scoop him up and let him run back up point. I don't see Deorzan taking a backup role though.
  23. I'm a big fan of Kia Jones, but he will be G League bound next season. However, the upside is worth it at 20.
  24. Trae's playoff run eliminated any tiny voice in my mind that would make me think he wasn't a number 1 option on a championship team. I used to get mad at these folks and rant. Now I just look and laugh because they know he's really good and are just putting him there for the clicks.
