I'm not saying you are wrong, but I've never heard it said in the media that ferry made a serious attempt at Howard. All I heard was that Atlanta wasn't on his list back then.

I agree. The only reason I suggest Howard is because of the fact that he can opt out of his contract with Houston and I'm thinking he will bounce from them. Otherwise, you are correct. They don't need a superstar, just someone who can bang and get 8 to 10 rebounds to help Sap.

Including the playoffs........35-26. Something has got to change on this roster.....

Funny how Cleveland, like the bulls with Jordan (Rodman), knew that no matter how many points Jordan/lebron score, THAT alone doesn't win championships. You need somebody to go get it (Rodman/Thompson). That's why Cleveland SMOKED Atlanta in the playoffs......

I know this has been beat into the ground, but it's beyond frustrating. The failure to REALLY make a move to get over the hump, leaves you saying, and I quote from the movie Casino " either you were in on it or you was too dumb, either way, I gotta let you go". That's where I stand with Hawk's management and their failure to address the problem and really challenge for the championship. This is a good team with a major flaw. If a player like Dwight Howard was in the paint, Sap would be a beast at power forward. Even more so than now. He gets overworked trying to do his job and horfords job all at the same time. That spread offense that bud kept trying to force with Pero last year, and horford this year, would work with Howard in the paint. Defenses would be spread inside out AND sideline to sideline. In the playoffs, you would force other teams to beat you with jumpers, instead of the drives they get now to the bucket (lebron, etc.) I want horford GONE. He IS the problem. He is good enough to make a person who doesn't know basketball, think that he is part of the solution. In reality, he is a glorified stretch power forward, in the way of Sap and a true run at a championship.

I just wish he get rid of that Pepe le pew hairdo.....that yellow streak just looks nasty. Don't want the point guard looking like that....

It's not injuries. The hawks haven't been the same since the all-star break last year. They are not good enough shooters to keep relying on their spread offense. This point has been beat into the ground, but the hawks will not address it.

Warriors went a long time without a chip and got their SECOND one since the hawks have been in Atlanta. Anything short of a championship is a failure in Atlanta. They been in the league too long to settle for "culture" changes. But , who cares? As long as the tickets are sold......

I disagree. If you got somebody who can rebound, that makes EVERYBODY better. There is less pressure to make the first shot because you know you have someone who can go get it. With the system the hawks have, you can live with the players they have if you can rebound the ball.

Dwight doesn't have the prima donna cache he once had and will find out for himself on his next contract. Atlanta is about the only city he could come to at this stage of his career and get his ego fed. That's OK, as long as he does what he does on the floor.

The team isn't flawed, they just need someone LEGIT on the boards. Somebody that's paid to do just THAT. Once that is done, everything else will fall into place.

I been saying this for years. Horford is the one that needs to go. I wanted Asik from Houston waaay back when he was upset about them signing Howard. Now he is the key reason Davis is able to freelance in New Orleans. Dwight Howard can opt out in Houston. Approach a sign and trade with him and horford and a draft pick and see if all parties will bite on it. Say what you want about Howard,but he brings exactly what the hawks need, rebounding and shot blocking, without added bonus of the fact that since he stays in the paint area, teams can't cheat on defense.
