  1. Dennis Rodman was THE reason the pistons, bulls and spurs won championships......
  2. The one thing everybody agrees on is the fact that korver belongs on the bench now.
  3. I disagree. If you got somebody who can rebound, that makes EVERYBODY better. There is less pressure to make the first shot because you know you have someone who can go get it. With the system the hawks have, you can live with the players they have if you can rebound the ball.
  4. Dwight doesn't have the prima donna cache he once had and will find out for himself on his next contract. Atlanta is about the only city he could come to at this stage of his career and get his ego fed. That's OK, as long as he does what he does on the floor.
  5. The team isn't flawed, they just need someone LEGIT on the boards. Somebody that's paid to do just THAT. Once that is done, everything else will fall into place.
  6. I been saying this for years. Horford is the one that needs to go. I wanted Asik from Houston waaay back when he was upset about them signing Howard. Now he is the key reason Davis is able to freelance in New Orleans. Dwight Howard can opt out in Houston. Approach a sign and trade with him and horford and a draft pick and see if all parties will bite on it. Say what you want about Howard, but he brings exactly what the hawks need, rebounding and shot blocking, without added bonus of the fact that since he stays in the paint area, teams can't cheat on defense.
  7. Hawks are no closer to a championship than ANY of their previous teams since coming to Atlanta because you got a general manager who thinks the spurs way will win in Atlanta without SUPERSTARS. No matter how you look at the spurs system, Parker, Duncan, etc. were superstars. The hawks on the other hand, need to control the paint because of their lack of dominating players, but hard headed bud refuses to acknowledge that. This is the same general manager that traded Payne and gave Pero prime minutes.
  8. I see nothing has changed since the playoff beat down....45 wins....first round exit...
  9. I got a better idea. Try making just one three point against Cleveland tomorrow....
  10. I bet he can COUNT though. You signed all those wings, and continue to ignore your real problem on the boards . Hardaway SITTING highlights the fact that it was a busted, wasted trade. Bud can get away with it though because no one is holding him accountable.
  11. But didn't bud know that when HE put this squad together this off season? The danger the hawks are running is giving a unproven GM ( bud) the reigns on this team. His coaching system can't be questioned, but his personnel moves both on the court ( rotations) and off the court leave u scratching your head. Maybe he can't do it all like popovich in San Antonio.
  12. I haven't followed everything with the Hawk's because of football season. What has been Bud's reason for not playing him? He traded a high draft pick for him and benched him?
  13. No matter how you disguise it or make excuses for it, no team can win a championship without being able to control the boards. The hawks are a good team, just not a championship team. They have to be able to get second shots on offense and control the defensive board. I would force tavares into the rotation to see what they got.
  14. I keep saying trade horford for Lopez....lol. look, bud is gonna stay with the stretch 5 stuff. Problem is, he needs someone in the paint.....This is a good team, but it will not make any serious noise in the playoffs until they address the paint.
  15. Lopez dominates again.....but I was told the hawks don't need him......
  16. Welp. Once again, I was proved right. Lopez dominated the hawks again.
  17. Lebron James is NOT the key to Cleveland like people think. Who cares if he gets 20-25 points? Man, TEAGUE does that for the Hawks. TEAGUE. No, how Cleveland beat Atlanta is in the paint. You pointed out something ive pointed out on this board ( before it was changed over), that the Hawks HAVE to stop Thompson and Mosgov on the boards. Thats how they beat Atlanta. Switching Sap to the 3 is mandatory in a series against the Cavaliers. Scott has to get more involved. Splitter will have to show up. Running Horford and Sap out there together as your 5 and 4 isnt gonna cut it against Cleveland. Again, LET Lebron get his, you dont care. What you care about is the second chance points that Cleveland gets and them keeping you off YOUR offensive board. You compete there, you beat Cleveland.
  18. I know its early, but thats how i see this shaking out again. Im pleasantly surprised at how good Splitter and Holiday are coming off the bench. The bench is DEFINITELY deeper than the deep bench they had last year. Bazemore and Thabo will offset the lost of Carroll. I see the team cruising into the playoffs again with the only competition being the Cavaliers, who i still give the rebounding edge to. I thought there would be a drop off to a 45 win season, but i dont think that way anymore about this team.
  19. Thompson and Mozgov...............
  20. Cleveland didnt get the memo...........they demolished the Hawks with a inside out game in the playoffs......
  21. Look, i havent done any research into this to know if it would work cap, etc. , but i do know its A GOOD MOVE for the Hawks. Again, for the thousandth time, the problem the Hawks continue to have, and will continue to have is a legit inside presence at center. I like Splitter, Moose, etc. but neither they or Horford are the answer the Hawks need at starting center. I know people dont wanna hear it, but to be honest, a straight trade of Horford for Lopez wouldnt upset me, but i know the Hawks wouldnt do it. Lopez bring a legit scorer IN the paint area and can rebound. He DOMINATED Horford in the playoffs last year. The only reason im even thinking Lopez is the fact that Brooklyn isnt going anywhere and might decide to dismantle that overpaid bunch and get rid of Johnson, Lopez, etc and rebuild. Horford coming up for a contract would be a potential problem, but hey, who knows what a struggling team like Brooklyn would do.
  22. BINGO............... If you wanna know the truth, Barkley has ALWAYS slammed the Hawks. I honestly think he has a thing against Atlanta in general, because he comes from the woods of Alabama and is on some " hate the big city" garbage. Its not our fault that bama doesnt have ANY pro teams, outside of the crimson tide..........lmao
