  1. Wasnt this the START of Billy Knight's love affair with drafting wings? Lets say them kept Terry, Wallace and Jackson as a core and drafted a point guard. In 2004, they couldve drafted Jamaar Nelson. Nn 2005, they bypassed CHRIS PAUL AND DERON WILLIAMS. they couldve had: pg nelson, paul or williams sg terry sf jackson pf wallace c whoever, didnt matter........
  2. Korver is a very good player. He might be putting too much wear and tear on his body with his off season regimens.
  3. It looked good on PAPER........Jackson had a good one year with the hawks. He averaged 18.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists. After the allstar break, he averaged 24 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals. HE GOT BETTER for the Hawks as the year went along. In the ONE GAME Sheed played for the Hawks, he had 20 points, 6 rebounds, FIVE blocks and a steal. How is THAT not buying in........ Rasheed wasnt in control of where he was playing. He wouldve stayed focused if the organization was doing CORRECT things. Diaw and Jackson became HUGE for the Spurs. Looks to me like it was a HAWKS ORGANIZATION issue, and not a PLAYER issue with most of these players....... Diaw, Terry, Wallace, Jackson, they ALL got rings after they left the Hawks.....
  4. You KNOW i was gonna answer, lmao. 50-55 wins. A DEEP run into the playoffs. Everything stays the same on offense except there would be somebody to dump the ball off to in the paint when Dennis, Baze and Teague drive to the basket. Bud would run his sets so that Mutumbo finishes in or near the paint area. On defense, OBVIOUSLY, there would be non of that DRIVING to the hoop unchecked by opponents. That INCLUDES YOU LEBRON............ Rebounding is the icing on the cake. Mutumbo changes EVERYTHING with how the Hawks would affect other teams.
  5. I looked further into this and found out that Raheem, Ratliff and Dan Dickau were traded to the Trailblazers for Wallace. and Wesley Person. The Hawks in turn traded Wallace to Detroit for Bob Sura, a scrub and a first round draft pick to the Hawks. That pick turned into Josh Smith. So, basically, the Hawks traded Wallace for Josh Smith. They could had Wallace, Stephen Jackson, and Jason Terry as a core.........
  6. Maaaan, i looked back on these squads because i knew that Rasheed Wallace was on it for ONE game. LOOK at the talent those squads had. HOW in the world did they not turn that into a playoff machine?? They MIGHT have if they had KEPT Rasheed. In 2004 they added Josh Smith, Antoine Walker and Tyron Lue and a slew of aging veteran guards in Jon Barry, Kenny Anderson, Tony Delk. HOW in the world couldnt they have tweaked and meshed those two rosters into something special?? Them ninjas had: Rasheed Wallace ( one game) shouldve kept him.. Stephen Jackson Shariff Abdul Raheem Boris Diaw Dion Glover Al Henderson Nazr Muhammed Theo Ratliff Bob Sura Jason Terry Jacque Vaughn
  7. Stranger things have happened. The Hawks signed Rasheed Wallace, for what, ONE game and dealt him..................I was BIG time upset with the Hawks with not keeping him........
  8. I admit that Al is a great player, and has done a lot, its just that i personally place value of defense over offense in basketball.
  9. I know. My feeling is the ceiling has been reached with the Sap/Horford combo. I would gamble if it can they can get cap space.
  10. That about sums it up. JUST for conversation, dont you get the feeling that if Parker were running the Hawks show, it would be worth 5 more wins easily??
  11. The only way i do the trade is if it leaves the Hawks with more cap room. If Howard doesnt opt in, does that leave the Hawks MORE room to work with in the cap next year? Rent Howard for a year and see what happens, with the fallback of looking at more cap room??
  12. He basically already IS a starter. Bud needs to just go ahead and make it official and start him.
  13. Ehhh. I still feel that the 5 position is a priority. Also, no way i would ship Baze. He and Sap are the main two reasons the Hawks win games at this point. If its true that even at THIS point, Howard and his agent dont wanna play ball, then forget him. I wanted to take a chance on his prima donna character, but obviously, they still THINK he is worth more than he is............
  14. Bud couldn't have built that squad in the first place....
  15. I BEEN saying this....................HOW many times did i say Howard should be traded for Horford????
  16. got one more.......picture of the Hawks trophy case:
  17. " cancel that center, ill get another one "
  18. Let me explain something. I KNOW it appears that im real negative about the Hawks. I AM, and its because i DO care about the team. At the same time, they have ZERO benefit of the doubt with me because they have been in Atlanta since 1970 without a championship. There is a BOARD consensus that the Hawks need help rebounding and or blocking shots. If WE know that, BUD knows that, GRANT HILL knows that. I bring Grant's name into this because like i said in the thread about the investors wanting to flip the Hawks down the road, the fact that Grant Hill KNOWS basketball, just reaffirms what i said in that thread. Bud has been given license to run this team without any oversight. THATS the reason he continues to force that spread offense without making any adjustments or going after a big that can rebound and or block shots. The FIRST excuse always made on this board about Bud's offense when you suggest a big that can rebound etc. is " certain player cant play in Bud's spread offense." Forget that spread offense. THATS the problem. Bud REFUSES to adjust how its ran. People are not looking at the PLAYS. I examined a couple plays, the Hawks under pick and roll, and their Hammer. In BOTH plays, there is ZERO reason that Horford HAS to be out in 3 point land. ZERO. In BOTH plays, Bud STILL has at least TWO shooters spread out on the perimeter at the conclusion of the play, WITHOUT Horford. It reminds me of the spread offense in football. Its a new fangled product that puts up points, but at the end of the day, its the inside game ( running the football), and defense that wins championships. Any of yall remember when Buddy Ryan punched Kevin Gilbride on the sidelines because he kept running that spread offense and causing Buddy's defense to wear down.......lmao THATS the problem in Atlanta. One of them assistants needs to check Bud but they know they will get bounced out of there if they did. THEY KNOW this ship aint going anywhere.
  19. Tiago Splatter wasnt............
  20. Another Whiteside block.............lmao
  21. 6 minutes into the game, and Whiteside already got 5 or more boards, a dunk on Horford and Sap, and a block shot of Sap. Meanwhile, Horford launching 3 pointers like he Allen Iverson and missing. This team is garbage..........HOT garbage..........
  22. balance, and Golden State rebounds better than Atlanta. Golden State is fourth in the NBA in total rebounding, Atlanta 3rd from last. Golden State averages 3 more rebounds per game on the offensive end than Atlanta. They get second chances OFF 3 pointers. Atlanta is one and done.
