  1. If you draft Edey, Clingan, etc. you will not even be a "play in" team.
  2. You kept Murray and Trade Trae. Trae is not gonna want to give up the spotlight. Murray, Ingram, Sarr, Johnson. Thats winning the East right there. TEAM comes first.
  3. He normally all over tweeter webs whenever the Hawks have done something big. THIS... I immediately starting trying to piece the moves together after the Hawks "won" the draft lottery. Trae most likely with either the Lakers or Pelicans next season.
  4. He doesn't move or look like a 7 footer. More like a wing player. There should be zero debate as to what the Hawks should do with the first pick of this draft.
  5. They should. The last one to come through put up 73 points on the Hawks.
  6. "His rim protection was especially important for Perth, a team that was downright atrocious at containing driblle penetration and needed Sarr to do a lot as a help defender around the basket. He was routinely acting as low man, rotating from the weak side corner to contest shots." I mean, if this don't describe what the Hawks need, nothing else will.
  7. It comes with a bonus: This could actually work with Trae and Sarr. Trae would have Sarr AND Johnson.
  8. I guess they can always give the pick back and tell the NBA they want to draft lower in the draft, lmao. There is nothing negative about this draft as a Hawks fan. I don't care how long it took. Drafting number 1 is good.
  9. How tall is Anthony Edwards? My point is for his size, just like Wemby, we normally don't have players with that type of skill set at 7 feet tall.
  10. I've been soo jaded this last season that I have't kept up with the European players. After the Spurs got Wemby I was done. Sarr has got me excited. I'm gonna look at these other European players.
  11. As much as we clown Capela, at LEAST he can pick and roll. Edey will get beat to his spot in the pick and roll in the NBA.
  12. Heck, from what I see he might be as good or better eventually than Wemby. Look at the film on him. I said MIGHT. Wemby is no joke but I'm seeing the same skillset in Sarr.
  13. You don't have to defend Sarr. Anybody without a agenda can see he is the dude. No team really deploys a traditional "5" in the NBA. Edey is not going high in the draft. If you can't stretch the floor or at least be able to play in space, you are of no use in the NBA today as a "traditional" big.
  14. https://sportsnaut.com/trae-young-poor-rep-difficulty-of-hawks-trade/#:~:text=NBA-,NBA insider details Trae Young's poor rep around league%2C why,or move Dejounte Murray instead&text=If the Atlanta Hawks plan, value than the homegrown star. NBA insider details Trae Young’s poor rep around league, why Hawks will have to ‘settle’ for far less or move Dejounte Murray instead The three-time All-Star would seem like an easy player to move because of his elite talent as an offensive player. However, during a conversation with Sportsnaut this week, NBC Sports Senior Writer Kurt Helin revealed the poor opinion talent evaluators around the NBA have about Young heading into his seventh season in the league. “They are going to try hard to trade Trae Young. That’s going to happen,” Helin claimed. “But from people I’ve talked to around the league these calls often go something like this, ‘Trae Young, yea, what would that [trade] look like? By the way, is Dejounte available?’ People in the league just like Dejounte’s game better. “Where Trae Young doesn’t defend, demands the ball; he scores a lot of points, gets a lot of assists, will bring your offense up — he’s an All-Star [and] borderline All-NBA offensive player — but there’s a sense that you can’t really build a true winner around him,” he added. “You could with Dejounte. They’ve got to move one of them, it obviously doesn’t work. But it’s going to be interesting to see what they might ultimately have to settle for to move Trae.” There have been rumblings for months that Young’s value around the league has fallen greatly from a peak when he led the team to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021. It also probably explains why the Hawks reportedly had a high asking price for Murray before the deadline because they were aware he had more value around the game.
  15. The other way of looking at is this: What have they won WITH Herb Jones and that stacked roster? They have a need that Jones can't provide and thats called "point guard". Sometimes its not about the player but the team. I'm pretty sure the Pelicans would want to keep both Ingram and Jones but what other team has the asset they NEED other than the Hawks? It takes a BIG name to manage Zion and that crew. I'm not disagreeing with you but there IS a reason for the Pelicans to consider it. A team with very good players but no point guard is like a Benz with no engine. A side note factor in this is this: Last season and maybe this season before the trade deadline, the Pelicans would have asked for Jalen Johnson in ANY deal just like the rest of the NBA. With Johnson showing a propensity for being injured, I'm not so sure thats the case anymore which works in the Hawks favor.
  16. Can you imagine the versatility and defensive acumen of this roster if the Hawks could pull this off? I'm letting the Pelicans have Bufkin in this along with DJM. I want Hunter off the bench where he excelled this season. You can flip flop Daniels and Bogi at shooting guard. pg Young, Daniels sg Bogi, Daniels, Jones sf Jones, Hunter, Johnson pf Johnson, Hunter c Capela, OO, Bruno
  17. I don't follow the NBA collective bargaining agreement or NBA rules as far as the cap because it would take a college degree. If thats a possibility and needed, that would be the way to go. Thats how it is done in the NFL.
  18. You must mean the Falcons and their tampering? lmao On a serious note, CAN you get around the luxury tax?
