Trae never wanted to be the villain.  The fact that he is has come directly from the media who wanted him to bust, from guys like Nash and some players who were fine with CP, Steph, Harden getting fouls for throwing themselves into guys but somehow when little Trae did it it was an affront to basketball.  So much so that the league goes out of it's way to stop it.

Trae played with a smile on his face the first 3 years.  He seems to have lost that.

We don't see this Trae much anymore

I think the villain thing started from the way he used to get to the line. To the purists it was an ugly brand of basketball. But he has adapted to it and thats what great players do.

What fans remember or not has no bearing on the teams performance. What is your point lol

The guy in the post for some reason needed to bring up Giannis losing to the Rockets as if they are not supposed to because they were the ECF champs.

My point is who cares about Giannis, ECF two years ago and what other teams do against the Rockets? Is that good enough or no?

    Why??

Because letting go of two years ago supports your position?

We just beat a very good Chicago Bulls team with two players from 2 years ago leading the pack.  Yet you say.. Let go?

I say we need to figure out what it was about 2 years ago that worked so well.

Maybe we need to forget about last years playoffs?

Yes we beat the Bulls. Great win with a limited squad too. Pelicans aren't hanging on to two victories over the Suns I bet.

Yes we do need to forget about last year playoffs. We barely made it in and we got gentlemen swept. We dont need to remember last year

No team has accomplished anything this year.

If we are going by your logic, it's much worse for a team who won a championship two years ago to lose to the Rockets.

My point is we have to move on from the ECF lol. It was two years ago. Different league, different players. And no its not worst for any team to lose to a crappy team in December. Suns were getting blown out by 50 last week. Its December, who cares? CJ McCollum was asked by media was Pels and Suns a rivalry now. He simply answered not until we get some wins in the playoffs. He had already put the game he just played behind him.

The premise of saying "we gotta let go of two years ago" is that this season is its own thing.... and I wholeheartedly agree.

So, no, they can't lose to the Houston Rockets and get a pass any more than anyone else can... two years ago, after all, is two years ago.

I mean they're all professionals. And Houston has young studs similar to a younger Hawks. Just like Philly was saying two years ago how could we lose to the Hawks, you're saying that now about the Rockets. Young teams can sneak up on you. They dont know any better.

Hawks aren't the only EC contender to go down to HOU and leave on the wrong side of the scoreboard. Right, Giannis?

We gotta let go of two yrs ago and Giannis has a ring and was MVP. They can lose in regular season on the rd two years later in December. They get a pass

There is no debate.  It is what it is..  We got Trae.  People who come in debating this in every post are like people who still fight the civil war everyday.   Either you like Trae or you don't.   But there's no debate about that draft day.   That's over.. we have to figure out the best way forward.

Team is what it is but who can coach them? Every coach coming in wont let Rayford go full open world. We're seeing him hold back, no logo threes and trying to play team ball but its almost clear he struggles. Do you give take his leash off and let him run around and chuck again?
