But that’s just it. His supporting cast didn’t get it done and then he didn’t get it done by himself because 1 man can’t carry a team to a chip. Not to mention the OKC choke. so do you expect murray / dre to do what kyrie and harden couldn’t? I’m not willing to trade my superstar and future to lose in the conference finals. Trae has already shown us he’s capable of getting us there … and almost winning … with less help. pairing trae / KD? Yes trading trae for KD? No -
How many rings does KD have outside of his years with golden state? How did he do Kyrie + Harden? What about Harden + Westbrook? How many rings again? why do we think bringing him here would make us a contender if it costs us our offensive engine in the process? Jc + Murray or something? Sure. But not at the expense of our lone superstar. That’s crazy talk. He’s played 35 / 55 / and on pace for 62 games. At 34. He’s not getting younger. That’s not someone you trade your future for.

Thus my desire to bring in guys like Dedmon and markieff morris. This team outside of DJ and arguably Clint need a serious attitude adjustment.

conveniently ignoring Harrison barnes + Wiggins, but calling out the Celtics and the suns reference. Well played. btw. there is not much of a - if any - gap between Hunter, smart and Wiggins. And Dre still has some developing to go. you are correct tho. This is a non point. Plenty of historical examples of a player of Dre’s ability being a #3 on a championship winning team

Klay is the clear #2 on that Warriors squad. Harrison barnes was arguably their #3 their first championship. Reasonable expectations. how about last year for golden state? Andrew Wiggins/jordan Poole type impact? Reasonable. Last years Celtics teams … Marcus smart? Reasonable. When the suns went - Mikal bridges? Sure that’s reasonable He won’t reach jrue holiday level sure. Yet somehow - we took that team to 6 games 2 years ago. And arguably lost because of a ref. also in don’t believe dre is a final product hes 25 and barely has a 2 full seasons worth of nba games under his belt.

Minus the injury bug I’m ok with that. I think he can be a good enough #3 on a championship winner.

I think I’d be content with sending out holiday and turning that into Markieff Morris and Dewayne Dedmon. We’ve seen when we play the right way we can win. I think a couple more vets to hold guys accountable + bring more toughness is sorely missing from this team and would go a long ways. mid season - there is nothing worth it imo without accepting you will punt on the season. Off season if we fail to make a run then I’d say Re evaluate. no idea if either of those names are a possibility - but I’d like to find some guys like them if they aren’t.

Everyone blaming Nate … how about the fact that Trae missed Dre coming over for what would’ve been a relatively open 3 before he threw it off Plumlee???? Nate tell him to do that too?? SMH. More frustrated with Trae tonight than I may have been all season.

Trae went back To hero mode at the end of the game … and it cost us. also - every NBA player needs to start kicking their leg out on 3Pt attempts and have it be their natural motion.

My only complaint post-1st quarter ... I wish Nate pulled DJ + JC with 4 to go. Especially with an equally important back-to-back coming up tomorrow.

Luka bumps Hunter off his line and it’s clean. Hunter sneezes on Luka’s shoulder and it’s a whistle. Hunter has to get the least amount of respect from the refs in the entire league. edit. And then that screen call. Sigh.

Am I the only one with little to no interest in the trade for Ayton? He’s talented for sure. But he doesn’t seem like a player to get you a Ring to me. I’d be confident on making a bet that he will not win a championship as the starting center of a team (assuming he takes up a sizable portion of the total salary cap like he does now).

Unless there is someone else that I’m not seeing as realistic, at least mid season, I hope we do nothing more but to find a way to sure up the bench. When healthy the starters are starting to play well together … bench + backup big could use a boost. holiday + SRP for Vanderbilt. Tell Ainge to get off the if he thinks JC + FRP is worth that.

I like martins activity on the defensive end. About the only positive so far.
