He did well. Sadly, Harden and Kyrie didn't get it done. He deserves blame for OKC. They should have won it all the year they lost the 3-1 series lead to GS.

Durant single handedly almost beat Milwaukee in game 7, by himself.

But that’s just it. His supporting cast didn’t get it done and then he didn’t get it done by himself because 1 man can’t carry a team to a chip. Not to mention the OKC choke.

so do you expect murray / dre to do what kyrie and harden couldn’t? I’m not willing to trade my superstar and future to lose in the conference finals. Trae has already shown us he’s capable of getting us there … and almost winning … with less help.

    pairing trae / KD? Yes

    trading trae for KD? No

  2. How many rings does KD have outside of his years with golden state? How did he do Kyrie + Harden? What about Harden + Westbrook? How many rings again?

why do we think bringing him here would make us a contender if it costs us our offensive engine in the process? Jc + Murray or something? Sure. But not at the expense of our lone superstar. That’s crazy talk.

He’s played 35 / 55 / and on pace for 62 games. At 34. He’s not getting younger. That’s not someone you trade your future for.

The Suns lose a young, really good center though and only get a creaky old wing they have to pay $18 million next year.   They've got plenty of those.  So i think Suns aren't interested in that.  If they get Capela that makes them better on the court.

The Raptors would have to really want JC and I'm not sure about that.  It saves them money so if that's a motivation then maybe but JC is a downgrade from Siakam so they are basically retooling but they'll need picks or something.

This would seem more plausible. And I’d be all for it given Siakam has been the guy I’ve wanted for the last ~3 years.

    ATL IN: Siakam, Birch, Crowder

PHX In: Cap, Bogi, Thad Young

TOR IN: J Collins, Ayton (or re route JC to get them a PG)

    leave us at …

    Trae / DJM / Hunter / Pascal / OO

    Ahol / AJ / Crowder / JJ / Birch

Also don’t like having both DJ and Pascal expire the same year  but because it’s pascal … I’ll overlook it

I must've missed the bolded teams winning championships.        You moving goalposts now?

Either way, Hunter isn't as good as Bridges or Smart so it’s a non point.

conveniently ignoring Harrison barnes + Wiggins, but calling out  the Celtics and the suns reference. Well played.

btw. there is not much of a  - if any -  gap between Hunter, smart and Wiggins. And Dre still has some developing to go.

you are correct tho. This is a non point.

Plenty of historical examples of a player of Dre’s ability being a #3 on a championship winning team

no way.  Not even close to that level.

    Klay Thompson

    Jrue Holiday or Middleton

I don't count the bubble as a legit championship

    Lowry or Van Vleet

    Klay or Draymond

    Kevin Love

no idea who #3 guy was for Spurs but I'm sure he's alot better than Hunter

    Chris Bosh

YOu gotta put the crack pipe down if you think Hunter has even a snowball chance in hell of being on any of those players' level.

Klay is the clear #2 on that Warriors squad. Harrison barnes  was arguably their #3 their first championship. Reasonable expectations.

how about last year for golden state? Andrew Wiggins/jordan Poole type impact? Reasonable.

Last years Celtics teams … Marcus smart? Reasonable.

When the suns went - Mikal bridges? Sure that’s reasonable

He won’t reach jrue holiday level sure. Yet somehow - we took that team to 6 games 2 years ago. And arguably lost because of a ref.

also in don’t believe dre is a final product  hes 25 and barely has a 2 full seasons worth of nba games under his belt.

  6. think I’d be content with sending out holiday and turning that into Markieff Morris and Dewayne Dedmon. We’ve seen when we play the right way we can win. I think a couple more vets to hold guys accountable + bring more toughness is sorely missing from this team and would go a long ways.

mid season - there is nothing worth it imo without accepting you will punt on the season. Off season if we fail to make a run then I’d say Re evaluate.

no idea if either of those names are a possibility - but I’d like to find some guys like them if they aren’t.

  7. Am I the only one with little to no interest in the trade for Ayton?

He’s talented for sure. But he doesn’t seem like a player to get you a Ring to me.

I’d be confident on making a bet that he will not win a championship as the starting center of a team (assuming he takes up a sizable portion of the total salary cap like he does now).
