It'd be a pleasant surprise assuming Trae/Collins/Prince have a lot to do with it but 1. Not as many teams are tanking this year. Those 50/50 games that pro-tankers were stressing over are gonna be harder to come by. 2. Our improvement will have to be almost entirely internal: no additions besides rookies and Lin. 3. First year head coach.

Again, it's not about trading for a PG. Our goal this offseason was supposed to be taking on bad salary for assets and here we have taken on bad salary for nothing. Only decent trade that Schlenk has made was for HOU 1st round pick tbh. Unfortunate that they turned out to be the best team in the NBA, but at least we sort of got something for letting Millsap walk.

I'm in disbelief really. Only way I can rationalize this is by it being a part of a bigger deal because why would you help facilitate a deal that you, yourself, should be making.

Indeed, the other day I saw Trae Young in the lead off highlights for ESPN. Now obviously they quickly shifted to bashing his shooting numbers, but hey nobody in sports media has cared enough about a Hawks player in a while.

Exactly this. He's gotta establish that he can and will take those bombs and that'll open up the offense. But sometimes feels like he's taking them just to take them.

Trae's passing is special. The open threes will fall eventually. You can tell he's lived in Oklahoma his whole life though because he has a lot of Westbrook in his shot selection. My thing with him is you gotta let him take some of those bad shots but it's all gotta be under control at the same time.

Having a guy that can make those at a respectable clip (Trae can when he's not in a slump) is so valuable to an offense though. His main thing will be finding the right time to take them, I don't like when the Hawks get a stop and he fires that up in transition. Teammate's wasting their energy.
