  1. Jonah Bolden has crazy potential. He's in that Ben Simmons, Greek Freak archetype except he even flashed the ability to shoot the 3 this past year. He could make or break a GM.
  2. Al Horford is a choke artist. Not that the Celtics would be winning if he showed up, but he's clearly shook to the core by the Cavs.
  3. We also met with Jordan Bell who isnt on that list for whatever reason http://www.csnnw.com/oregon-ducks/oregons-jordan-bell-looking-right-fit-much-high-pick-nba-draft Jordan Bell is gonna be a fan favorite wherever he goes. I'd love for it to be here. * Jarrett Allen, Texas, Center * Jawun Evans, Oklahoma State, Point Guard * Frank Jackson, Duke, Point Guard * Harry Giles, Duke, Center * Donovan Mitchell, Louisville, Shooting Guard * Caleb Swanigan, Purdue, Power Forward * Justin Patton, Creighton, Center I like these
  4. No thanks. Keep the inside the NBA crew together.
  5. Ivan Rabb, John Collins, Terrance Ferguson
  6. I remember Zach Lowe talking about him. Interesting guy.
  7. He's bad for half the game. Swanigan is too big and slow, he'll get torched on defense with the way the NBA is going. Enes Kanter is elite in the post and rebounding and he still got ran off the court by Houston as a bench player because of he was such a liability on defense. Zach Randolph is a bench player in favor of the more athletic modern big Jamychal Green. The other day, I watched Kelly Olynyk blow by the Wizards big contract bigs and also drain 3s because they couldn't close out in time. Al Horford had his way as well. And it's not like he makes up for that by being a rim protector. He's never gonna make his money on defense, but just to become adequate he threatens his offensive game. All of those guys you mentioned are more likely to be future starters than Swanigan, none of them are stars unless Harry Giles recovers. Allen and Ike are elite rim protecting prospects, Giles has amazing defensive instincts, Patton can be a nice help defender ala Whiteside. With the exception of maybe Ike, they all have the footspeed and length to challenge shots on the perimeter too. The only big that sucks on defense that I'm partial to is Markkanen because he's an elite shooter with a near unblockable jumper. That may be valuable enough to build around, but it's more likely that he turns into Ryan Anderson. But yeah I'm trying to find a starter of the future, I don't think that's Swanigan. I'm rooting for the guy because his story is incredible but the way the NBA has turned will not be kind to his game.
  8. But your boy Swanigan isn't exactly old. He only just turned 20. The reason he is so low is because of his flaws that you keep ignoring.
  9. It's no secret that younger prospects are more valuable. I like Jarrett Allen. He has the size, length, and athleticism that I look for. Flashed a nice midrange jumper and finishes well around the basket. Can develop into a formidable rim protector too once he adds strength like Gobert did. Lightbulb really came on for him near the end of the season.
  10. I kinda like Swanigan but I do have questions about his defense still. Can he switch onto guards and do a respectable job? Is he a rim protector? I dont think he can do either of those without losing weight. But when he loses weight, what happens to his inside game? I love his passing ability though and that 3 pt shot looks legit.
  11. I like Patton. He'd be my second choice behind Allen at C.
  12. Yeah, but he's not a traditional PG. He plays offball and his main value is his 3 pt shooting.
  13. Probably yeah. Would have to hope that Reddick and KCP take up all the attention.
  14. Only player that i've liked so far is Ian Clark, lol. Mirotic is infuriating.
  15. Brent Barry seems pretty smart when I hear him on TNT. We'd have to hire him with a real managerial type to help him out. The guy they are interviewing from Houston is interesting too. Hopefully they hire somebody soon though.
  16. I'd love to get a Gary Harris type. Avery is like Gary's upper bound comparison. One last guy, Sterling Brown from SMU. A career 45% 3pt shooter. 6'5, 6'10 wingspan, brother of Shannon Brown, tenacious defender. More of a second round sleeper type though.
  17. He's best paired with a guard who can thrive playing offball a bit, letting him get the ball handling responsibilities (THJ rather than Dennis). So I don't see him starting unless we move Dennis (very unlikely). He'll be a nice role player though.
  18. Bradley is one of the best defenders in the NBA. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to start IT, he'd have to be a bench buster. I'd love to get a 2 guard that can cover for Dennis like that. Donovan Mitchell has that type of potential in this draft, but we loaded up on wings last year.
  19. There isn't even much that they can do in FA if they are intent on bringing back Millsap and THJ. Not to mention Muscala and Ersan.
  20. Exactly. Like who do they think will be contending after Cleveland and Golden State are done holding the league hostage? Washington is younger and better than the Hawks right now. And the Hawks have very few avenues to overcoming them. Nate Duncan put a good podcast today discussing the Hawks options this offseason, really put a lot of things into perspective.
  21. The teams at the top are built on lottery picks and smart FA signings. Lets overpay replacement level players and draft in the late first every year
  22. I love basketball, football, and the chase for a championship. The Hawks and Falcons got me for life.
  23. When I initially started watching the Hawks, making the playoffs was fun and exciting. But after 10 straight years of nothingburgers it's lost the mystique. The 60 win team had a chance and promptly got swept by the Kevin Love and Kyrie-less Cavaliers.
