  1. When the preseason rankings for college football come out next year this is how they will look.... 1- USC 2- Oklahoma 3- Missouri 4- UGA I would even bet that usc passes uga this yr on the final polls. Even if the soooners lose tonight they will still rank higher than uga next yr. UGA gets no credit for what they did to Hawaii. The so called experts(Mark May) were picking hawaii to win or at least the game would be close. UGA destroys them and instead of hearing how good UGA is and what an incredible job the did against the best offense in the country, we hear, well hawaii didnt belong, lol. USC destroys illinois and do we hear that they didnt belong? NO, we hear how good usc is and how they should be co-national champs. Ridiculous.
  2. I have to admit he has been much better this year. I just cant get over him and patoric(sp?) doing braves games couple of years ago.......whew they were aweful just plain aweful.
  3. Gotta give him credit. That cross-court pass to JJ for the 3 was awesome. Hit him on the run perfectly. Falcon QB's should take notes. Lets keep this thing going Hawks. 5th place looks good, but it looks like 4 thru 7 might flip flop all year.
  4. I hope I am wrong about this but isnt it true we cant sign anyone over 3 yrs because of the ownership struggle? If that is the case hwo in the hell are we too resign soove or anyone else for that matter? someone please tell me I am wrong.
  5. I have to agree with you. I havent seen much 0of the game but as soon as i tune in i see marvin get body checked by shaq and no call then not 10 seconds later marvin gets called on a touchy foul on wade. then i look at boxscore and see wade has 21 ft attempts??? come on. this has been a problem, for the hawks i9n recent years and something that I thought may have passed but it seems tonight at least refs back calling it tight on atlanta.
  6. Woody really needs to go as soon as possible. Now before I get bashed by woody supporters let me say this. Our lack of offense may be more on the players not following the gameplan than it is on woody just being aweful BUT either way he must go. If the players arent following his gameplan then he has lost the team...he should be fired. If he is just that bad well guess what he needs to be fired. The sad thing is I doubt very serious.y he will be fired before the end of the season. Great!!! It is a sad state when you're only hope is a rookie pg comes back and gets the offense going.
  7. Ryan Freel. I think this would be a good fit. Not sure what it would costs us but I would seriously consider bringing him in. He cna hit leadoff adn is a great defensive player and has connections to ATL which may help in resigning him if need be.
  8. I'm sorry but I missed Petrino and his staff taking the field against the bucs sunday. I bet that was a site to behold. Did Petrino play gaurd or tackle?
  9. Screw Kobe!!! I am 100% against Kobe Bryant in a Hawks uni. That sob got what he wanted in LaLa land and now that he sees he made a huge mistake he wants out. I hope they keep his sry azz there and endure lotto hell for 2 yrs. Joe Johnson is a class act who WANTS to be here and turn this thing around.....plus, if you havent noticed he's a pretty damn good player as well. Kobe Bryant makes me sick to my stomach. Sure, hes the best player in the league but his attitude overwhelms that fact for me. You, Mr Bryant, got your team in this fix now deal with it.
  10. Dont get me wrong I would love to see that lineup everyday BUT we would be in the same boat as this past season...no pitching. I just wish for once we could balance this thing out. It seems the yrs we have killer offense we have aweful pitching and vice versa. While getting griffey would be great I submit we sign a FA CF by the name of Aaron Rowand. Will be cheaper than Griff plus we dont have to give up anything to get him. Whne our youngsters r ready we then trade Rowand. I dont know how much cash we have to throw around but I am guessing around 20mill wiht the departure of Ren and AJ. Split the money between Rowand and say Tommy G. We would still have the money to resign Tex when Hamptons bloated deal comes off next yr. I think Wren is going to make some big deals this offseason to cement himself as the new GM. Hard act to follow in JS.
  11. First of all let me say that I am in no way a Bisping fan, as a matter of fact, I really dont like him. I also thought hammil got robbed but if you go back and watch the fight closely you will see that bisping scored a lot of pts by standing up so fast after being taken down. Hammil would have won hands down had he been busier on the ground. Bisping landed some big shots but it was the lack of offense on the ground that costs Hammil the fight. PLEASE GIVE ME FEDOR VS. COTOURE
  12. I was not saying that because they are the same size they will be the same player. That is insane. I was simply stating that Horford would be able to play the position and not get manhandled even though he isnt 7 ft tall and 280 pds. As far as talent, we will have to wait and see. If he comes even close to what mourning achieved we will be happy.
  13. I am sure someone has mentioned this before BUT I think it bears repeating. Mourning is 6 10 260. Al is 6 10 245. It isnt very hard to pack on 15 pds. I believe anyone would have loved to have mourning even now play for atl. So, I dont understand the fuss about horford not being able to play center in the nba. Especially now that centers of mournings era are all but gone. Horford will be fine at the 5 for the hawks. He wont have to be the man at the 5 this yr which will give him time to get a little bigger and stronger. I was scared to death that knight would take yi and I am so thankful that we ended up wiht horford. Granted I would have much rather have the proven player in stoudamire but..... I would love tio know what zo's measurments were coming into the league if anyone knows.
  14. RU F'ing serious? No game? did u not watch him against Oden? Have u not seen him play at all? I guess you have seen Yi play so much that you can make that call huh!? When i read that post I thought what idiot could have said this?? then i saw Troymclure. enough said.
  15. I would be very happy to get Horford. He did a pretty damn good job against Oden last yr.
  16. Portland already has 2 pretty damn good big men and need a pg and sf. I would at least get on the phone and see if we could work something out with our 3rd pick. I am just happy we kept our pick. We can definitly come out of this draft with a 1 and a 5 if Knight doesnt screw up AGAIN.
  17. I believe this is the single most important day in the history of the Hawks franchise. Coming out of this draft with Oden and either Law, conley or critt would be so huge. Not just on the court either but in the attention it would bring to the team.
  18. BUT we were basically stuck with him once cleveland took joe thomas. That sealed our fate. When I saw that happen I knew we were in trouble. The only thing that could have saved us was redskins taking okoye but alas we were stuck wiht anderson. He may very well turn out to be a very solid if not great player BUT I would have been much happier to have taken Willis. Correct me if I am wrong but isnt brooking our only mlb now? NOT GOOD. I love brooking but he needs to be outside. I absolutely LOVE the Blalock pick. I have to admit I threw up when I saw Martez Milner's name next to the Falcons. I was so happy he graduated and left UGA and now I get to watch him drop passes for the Falcons.....just what we need. All in all I think it was a pretty good draft for atl.
  19. I was speechless as I watched the fight. Cro Cop just didnt look as if he was into the fight. As far as Randy vs Gonzaga.....no way Couture loses. I have never been a huge sylvia fan but the way Randy dominated him in that fight says a lot about couture. In the "you heard it here 1st" category.....Rashad Evans defeats Tito Ortiz next month. I think that Evans is on his way to a title fight with the Iceman. The only thing that will beat Evans is his conditioning, or lack thereof. We all know what an animal tito is in traing and how well conditioned he is. If it is a all out war tito will more than likely outlast Evans but if Rashad can control the pace he will win. He is a better wrestler and a better striker than tito. Tito's only advantage is on the ground and he will have a tough time getting the fight there.
  20. I think you are exactly right. I think our #1 target is Laron Landry. If we dont get him then we will most likely trade down to get nelson or griffin. whatever happens it will be a fun 1st day for falcon fans. I just pray that we use our picks on OL help. That is the weakest spot on the roster and has been for a while now.
  21. I do like his size. I trust he is a great lead blocker if McKay threw that kind of money at him. My pt is that we resign griffith as a TB. I have seen on this board that people are saying we will select Bush in the 2nd rd but we can use that pcik on a OL if we just resign JG as our 3rd TB. Once Dunn is gone I think that Norwood and JG will be fine splitting time at TB.
  22. I dont know much about this guy Mughelli save his size. He is 255 pds. Now that they have signed another fb will they bring back Griffith? If Petrino wants a big RB then heres ur guy. He has shown the ability to catch the ball and make big runs. I think paring him with Norwood would be a very solid backfield. I still like Dunn as well but dont know how long he is going to be around.

    25 left

Wiht 25 games left and arguably the easiest part of the schedule remaining how do u think we will fare down the stretch? I am going out on a limb and say 15 wins. Is it enough to get into the playoffs? I dont know but I do know this...It will be huge for next season. Now, I usually dont believe that a few wins down the stretch really does anything for your team the next season but for the Hawks I think it will mean a lot. This team will be basically the same next year. So for these guys it is important to finish strong and go into next season with confidence.
  24. Not on the outcome of the game, mind you, but rather will Soloman Jones see the court. I am not labeling this guy a potential superstar but damn it he plays hard every time he plays. My money is on a DNP-coaches decision.
