  1. Would be a trade outta here. It doesnt look like he will ever play well enough to make people forget chris paul and deron williams. Its best for everyone including the hawks to ship him out so we can all move on. I dont know what he could bring us but if we could parlay marvin into a center then we have to do it.
  2. Not for 2 of those 2nds. I dont think we would give up that much when we could just grab flacco or henne or maybe brohm. I said in my earlier posts that Flacco might be our QB. I read somewhere that our brass liked him. I hope that isnt the case. he comes from a spread offense and we are inno way going to resemble that style. I hope brohm falls and if not him then Henne if we were going to take a QB in the 2nd. I wouldnt be surprised to see us draft Ainge later in the draft and fill other spots with those 2nds. OT, OG, DT, ILB, QB, DBx2. I can easily see us drafting dorsey, then drafting the OT, OG, and a DB in the 2nd. Ainge in the 3rd and find a ILB later. I really like the position we are in right now draftwise. Going to be fun.
  3. Either Louis Scola or durant. I can see it coming. It is going to be a disgrace to see it happen but I'm afraid its coming. I heard chris sheridan talking about if scola catches up to durant for roy honors it will be 1st time blah, blah, blah, blah. I tuned him out when there was no mention of horford. I mean is it that much of a curse to be a hawk? damn, it should mean more that we have a guy supposedly playing outta position and playing so well on a team in a playoff hunt. plus, dont even get me started on the age of scola. HE IS NO ROOKIE IN PRO BALL!!! The ROOKIE honor should go to a guy in his 1st pro season. Happens in baseball too. ridiculous. As far as the playoffs I have resigned myself to be happy with either outcome. We get in great we get our guys some experience but we might be saddled with woody again. If we miss out surely A(ll)S(tupid)G(uys) would have to fire woody so itys a win-win either way.
  4. They have tried to move him to FS. Maybe the new staff sees him as a corner. I just hope he steps up and plays well enough to lock down 1 of those spots-leaves us with 1 less hole to fill.
  5. Now that it looks as if DHall is going to net us the 3rd pick in the 2nd rd we are set to fill our most glaring needs. We can draft Dorsey or Ellis(whichever the staff likes) then in the 2nd rd if things fall right for us we could come away with Brohm, Sam Baker and Chilo Rachal. That would be a BIG start to turning this thing around. 4 plkayers that have been winners in college and know how to get it done. Getting Baker and Rachal to add to Blalock is a very nice start to a solid to great o-line. The rest of our picks hopefully we can find a gem of a cb and safety. I cant wait till draft day.
  6. This is a great pick-up for the falcons. Nice combo now with norwood. I guess Dunn will be cut. I hate that for dunn cause he is such a good guy but it has to be done, no punn intended. The best thing, to me, about this is that we will NOT be drafting mcfadden. Now we just have to hope Long falls to us at #3. If not I wont be unhappy with Dorsey or Ellis. I mentioned this in another post but I am hoping for Jake long this yr and Andre Smith next year. That would be the best tackle combo in the league, period. Turner would love running behind that.
  7. I have to believe this is not true. There is no clear cut top pick so there is now way in hell any gm would give up so much to move 3 spots to get a guy they m,ight can get if they stand pat. Hell, i hope dolphins do draft ryan, who I do like, so the falcons can land jake long. I'm not sure if maybe long should be as RT eventually so 1 name to think about is Andre Smith. Man, I love this guy. He will be a jr in 08 so he will prolly come out. If he does, wow, I cant imagine having him and long as out OT's. WOW! A man can dream cant he? lol.
  8. I wasnt saying that i thought norwood is our #1 back or a franchise type guy just thaqt I think while mcfadden will be better than nhorwood they are basically the same kind of guy. we need a bigger back to pair with norwood not another speedster. I was realy happy to hear we were after turner. man, that would be huge.
  9. What? Dude i am not talking about "tonite"(lol) tonight. I am talking about the rest of the season. Your reply doesn't make sense to me. I was asking if everyone thought the line-up change would help the team win games.
  10. i believe a few of the squawkers have mentioned this before but I believe it bears repeating. Why not move Mario into starting lineup and let Marvin and Chillz come off the bench. They can still get big minutes but this way we have scoring punch off the bench. I know it will never happen cause our coach is a stubborn ignoramous but it seems to be a smart move to make. Thoughts?
  11. Here's my 2 cents on what the Falcons should do this offseason. 1st- DO NOT DRAFT DARREN MCFADDEN OR MATT RYAN. I cant believe all the support for drafting mcfadden. Do u guys not remember we have norwood already? Now, before you go and crucify me for comparing norwood to mcfadden let me just say that I do think mcfadden is better than norwood BUT they are very similiar in what they do. So, it is better that the falcons get a big back as we already have the home run guy. 2nd- GET BIG. We need to really concentrate on improving both sides of the line. I am praying that Jake Long(who I wasnt really high on until recently) will make it to us at 3. If not I would love to have either ellis or dorsey. I would also use a 2nd rd pick on another OT. 3rd- PLEASE TRADE D-HALL. This guy is a cancer that needs to be cut out. Hopefully we can net a 1st out of his sorry azz. I would love to be able to get either Stewart or Mendenhall. 4th- DRAFT A KICKER EARLY. I know this doesnt sound like an important pick for a rebuilding team but it is time for a good kicker. 5th- Cross your fingers that eric ainge lasts until rd 3. I have a feeling this guy is going to be a very good nfl qb. He may actually fall into rd 43 as well which allows us to adress our other needs and still get a qb.
  12. Is anyone else tired of the shoddy-azz officiating in the nba, that usually hurets the hawks? tonight was just plain shameful. while i am not blaming officials for the loss I am saying that the hawks NEVER get calls. the no call on josh smiths drive was pathetic and garcia's foul on jj that went uncalled was aweful. just pitiful.
  13. maybe we can just buy back the pick we owe the suns. they r always selling off picks. would be nice to get another big body cheaply via draft. I also wanted to say good job BK. while i am not ready to sing your praises just yet i do believe this is a great deal for the hawks. i still question mike woodsons ability to effectively coach this team but we shall see. i hope i am forced to eat a little crow soon. good job though.
  14. First off I hope like hell the bibby rumor is true. BUT, I have to wonder this.....even with bibby(and I will add brad miller in the deal) we still have woody coaching this team. I still dont think we will succeed as long as he is the head coach. I can see us winning more because of the better talent but I just dont see woody ever being capable of leading this team to a championship. This could be a win-lose proposition for us. I hate to sound negative at such an exciting time but I have had enough of woodson.
  15. This Trade Succeeded! HIGH SCORE! You have ranked thirteenth in the Atlanta Hawks leaderboard Toronto Raptors You have increased the winning percentage by 8.54% Projected: W-49 L-33 After trade: W-56 L-26 Marvin Williams $4,466,040 Years Remaining: 2 PPG: 16 RPG: 5 APG: 1 PER: 15.54 M. PATHETIC

We have a crachead as a GM. We have a complete joke as a HC. We have Donald Sterling part 2 as owners. How can you not love this team? How can you not feel as if we are going to contend for a championship? Ridiculous. I was actually planning on taking my football team to see the hawks but after tonight i am done. there is no way in hell i am going to go see this crap. as a tar heel i am disgusted with marvin. he looks like the biggest draft blunder maybe ever. joe couldnt hit a clutch shot if he was alone on the court. woodson just sux, period. this whole organization is PATHETIC. and no one seems to give a [censored] except for the squawkers and soon we will be gone too.
  17. TNA wrestling to be an on air personality in some form.
  18. How would you guys feel about scott skiles? If not him who?
  19. I hope it pans out as it is another avenue for players to get exposure in hopes of making the big league. I coach a semi pro team here in ga. south georgia stars and i know from experience that nfl teams rarely give semi pro guys a look. there have been a few but it is rare. this league could be a nice stepping stone for some guys. You would be surprised how many talented guys slip through the cracks for whatever reason.
  20. nice post but I would have to disagree with some of it. 1st Williams will be long gone by the time we pick in 2nd rd. I would think someone like sam baker would still be there in the 2nd. Flacco played in a spread offense aty a d-2 scool so I'll pass on him for a more battle tested qb like ainge or henne. I completely agree with signing faneca but i would also target max starks from pittsburg. I would also pass on ray rice.
  21. I am so excited about this trip. A friend of mine knows one of the figthers on the card so hopefully will get to meet some of the guys(and hopefully the octagon girls, lol). I believe Lesnar is going to dominate the division ina short while. I do wonder if he will be a little shellshcoked in his first fight but Im sure his days in wwe will help the nerves a bit. Mir was a great fighter but hasnt looked the same since his accident. Great booking though by UFC as it is a win-win with lesnar. If he loses to mir they can say well mir was a champ. If he wins they can tout him highly by beating a former champ first time out. Really looking forward to silvia getting beat. He is prolly my least favorite fighter other than Matt Hughes.

    LOL

I give up. I dont think this team will ever get it right. Not just talking coaching but front office and ownership as well. Oh well, baseball season is right around the corner, oh wait, Braves will suck too. Well, fall isnt that far out, no, the Falcons are 1 of worst teams in the league. Thank GOD for UGA.....but we know they will be undefeated and then lose to florida. Boston sure seems nice this time of year.
  23. I am actually going to this show which will be my first time seeing UFC live. This will be the debut of Brock Lesnar as he faces off with ex-champ Frank Mir. Also Tim Silvia vs. Minotauro Nogueira. Jeremy Horn vs. Nate Marquardt. Allen Belcher vs. Ricardo Ameida. Here are my winners- Lesnar, Nogueira, Belcher, Marquardt.
  24. Imagine this if you will... Last year the Falcons trade Vick instead of Shaub. We then keep Kerney and draft Patrick Willis instead of jamal anderson. We keep big grady instead of cutting him. defense now looks like this Kerney and abraham-DE Grady and coleman-DT Boley, brooking(moved back outside) and willis-LB Hall, houston, milloy and williams We would need to only adress 1 safety spot on defense and the rest of our picks go to help the backfield and most importantly the oline. I would make a huge effort to sign alan faneca and maybe max starks. we then draft the best OT and our rebuilding has taken only 2 seasons. Now the biggest drawback here is this-------Petrino may still be the coach. So I guess it all worked out in the end, lol. My pt is this. we have made some real blunders in personnel in the last couple of yearsbut to the credit of the front office I imagine that vicks cap hit direclty influenced kerney leaving which forced our hands in other places. I really hope whoever our new gm is will finally fix the oline. There are some good player sout there right now that we can target including faneca and starks and in the draft as well. I would not be opposed to trading Hall for a top 10 pick to get an OT & our future QB. We can get a RB in the 2 or 3rd rd.
  25. UGA returning 17 starters. We lose 2 OL and Bailey but we have Israel Troupe incoming wich will really help the offense. Dfensively we lose Howard and Kelin but I dont think that will hurt us too bad as we have plenty of depth and some real strong talent returning including Currain who is a star. Not to mention our cb's hav ereally stepped up this yr. What kills me is people like Mark May saying that florida and texas should be ranked ahead of uga, lol. that is comical to me. UGA beat fla and is returning so many players wiht a top 5 recruiting class coming in the last 2 yrs. I wont even comment on texas, lol. For some reason uga not getting the respect they deserve for the season they had. People are so quick to point out that usc had injuries that costs them games but injuries or not if u lose to stanford at home there is no excuse. Oklahoma the same thing. they lose to 2 unranked teams and noone wants to talk about that. Every yr oklahoma goes into the bowls with the experts saying they are the best team in the land and every yr they get their asses stomped. Just look at the bowl records for each conference. big 12 only 4-3 pac10 4-2 big 10 3-4 acc only 2-5 sec 6-2 says it all.
