He doesn't. His rolls lack patience like OO but at least OO makes contact even if he's always late. Even his flash screens who JC made legendary suck. He just does nothing like a big man. From people I spoke with at OTE, they said he was more perimeter citric. Like everyone says including me, his upside is off the charts if used correctly and well coached.
Good thing he is going to a situation that doesn’t need him to be the number 1 pick immediately with a high level offensive coach and high level playmaker.
Alex sarr doesn’t have to contribute immediately in 2024 like you seem to already be jumping to in your head.

I am out on him if the idea is him as a 5. He will bust extremely fast.
His screens are bad but saying he doesn’t have PNR iq is hilarious. He makes high level reads out the of the short roll in every game.

He doesn't have a position
Is he tremendously talented, absolutely but you gotta have a position. Michael Beasley proved this already years ago.
Sarr is a freakish talent. I even been on record in one of the recent pods that I will post on here that he has Shades of Scottie Pippen if it all comes together and considering that he's 7'1, he might be a generational WING in 4 years. But if he's a 5. He's an instant bust. He has no upside as a 5. Zero!
Like i said hes not a 5 and lucky for us we have a cost controlled player to do that for years to come. Onykea compliments him as much as he compliments Onykea. A good situation to be in

There isn't a prospect I've gone at people about more than this guy and now he's on my team's big board. f*** the NBA! Why do you hate my franchise so much
Having the number 1 pick is not about drafting with the next year in mind only but the next 10+ years.

Youre not arguing in good faith at all. You have your mind up made on him already before they have even worked him out. Nobody even knows if that is the pick LOL. Just like you made up your mind Edey is some god. Youre entitled to these opinions but calling someone a bust already before they even get drafted is crazy.

My dislike for Sarr supercede my like for Edey.
Sarr is 100x the prospect edey is. Does he have his weaknesses absolutely. Lucky for him he can go to a situation that covers those. Youre heated in the moment right now. Calm down and then discuss.
Sarr is not a 5. Lucky for him he can play next to Onyeka and they compliment each other perfectly. But when you say things like they are too small like a 6'8 guy who plays like a 5 and a 7 footer next to each other youre not arguing in good faith

The Hawks just won the lottery an hour ago. No decision has been made on who they are taking, what they are looking for, what deals will be available, etc. Everybody gotta relax. Some of you have already clinched onto Sarr others already saying he sucks. Let the process play out. I assure you they did not go into the day thinking they would win the lottery.

JJ as a 3 is a disaster.
OO and Sarr is way too small of a front court with Trae.
Clingan is the only one that makes sense.
Onyeka and who is small????

Ingram is a negative asset.
Ingram is a negative but Dejounte is sooooo positive he’s getting elite young players + prospects + picks

This is the Hawks problem. We're betting on guys who aren't either rapidly developing, or can't stay on the floor. And he still hasn't taken Capela's spot.
There is NO WAY IN HELL that Oneyka Okongwu should stop any sort of deal that could possibly improve this roster.
Let me repeat that with bigger font, and in red.
There is NO WAY IN HELL that Oneyka Okongwu should stop any sort of deal that could possibly improve this roster.
If he can't even take Capela's spot, it means that he may not be as good as people think he is. The coach obviously doesn't think he's good enough to start. So what is the Hawks organization coveting?
I mean, what are we doing as an organization, if we're coveting marginal players to the point where we're afraid to "lose a deal", so we don't get an established player?
What will be easier? Finding an all-star/borderline All-Star on the front line? Or replacing a backup center?
You misread the comment. Not to mention his play has surpassed Clint for a while. Politics play a big role in minutes and rotation whether you guys want to admit it or not. It’s a reason hunter is always gonna have a role in the short term

I sure as hell wouldn’t give up Murray and OO and only get f***ing Brandon Ingram.
It’s not only Ingram. The magic wouldn’t even give up Suggs for Murray straight up but you think this is 2k thinking they’ll give you young assets + defensive studs + picks

LOL you think you’re getting this for Dejounte Murray and onyeka??? No wonder you hate every trade
you’re not getting the best defensive guard in the league + two upside rookies + one of the best defensive players in league + PICKS. You wouldn’t even get all the players for those two. LAUGHABLE

So the pelicans had negative defenders in cj, BI, Zion, and Val but finished as a very good defense on the season? How that happen if their top 8 is riddled with negative defenders
You’ve already made you’re decision on a BI deal and his fit before even seeing him play in the uniform so there is no changing your opinion regardless

Also heard from my Twolf source the NBA at large suspects the Hawks are going to fake to get a wing in the draft but really get a true center with size and ability to defend.
It’s so early for draft news but if this t wolves source is right I can’t think of who he is saying because there is only one center that fits that description and he will be long gone by 10…

You are really stretching things to make it look like Ingram would be a good acquisition. He’s a bad fit because he’s not a spot up jump shooter nor is he a POA defender. You resign him to a contract that gives him what he’s going to want, and you will have a sunk cost. You will not be able to move off the deal without taking another bad deal.
Even if he were to completely change his shot profile and become mostly a spot up shooter who takes 50 plus percent of his shots from three, he’s still a bad defender.
He’s not a bad defender tho lol

Agree with what AHF said. Teams could very well be lying on their rankings in hopes someone falls to them.
That being said I want to pay extra close attention to the 7-10 group. Not sourced but there are only two names in the group that make sense. Holland who likely won’t make it there and knecht who I believe Quin will fall in love with in the draft. He doesn’t solve any defensive concerns however but his spacing would be nice to have. Im Not a fan if they pick him though especially if they do so at the expense of any of the non guard names ahead of him

Hawks also prefer to keep Onyeka. He is a big chemistry guy in the locker room and his spacing will be very much needed in a world they get Ingram

I don’t disagree with what supes or sothron are saying I will just say from what I’ve heard herb isn’t untouchable. They made the offer of dj and OO for herb at the deadline but hawks didn’t accept. The deal is more challenging right now with Jonas salary off the books and they’d need a third team for BI but I wouldn’t rule it out
as far as currently it is concerned, yes hawks are offering capela and dj for BI + dyson. Will the first be enough to get Onyeka I think so but I really don’t know what happens to center position in that scenario. They cannot go another season with Clint as the starter

Did anyone ever send that Givony top 10 list for the combine in here. They are literally telling you as of now how teams have people ranked in aggregate and who the top 10 are

Holland? Holland is nowhere near a defender. His offensive game is average to me. I wasn’t saying it was either/or
Holland isn't a defender???? He's one of the best defenders in the class lol. That's his best skillset right now

There were rumors about Hawks/Detroit trade rumors at the deadline regarding Murray. Possibility of this being revisted ?
Haven’t heard anything as such. They’ve been interested in Hunter in the past. Might be a spot for him. Suspect most of their cap will be used via trades. Though they are heavily linked to tobias Harris so maybe not

Jalen Brunson is my proof that Zach Edey will be a stud in this league in the right situation.
He doesn't really fit any of the requirements that star PGs have but he's extremely consistent, high BBIQ, high feel for the game, tremendous footwork, just tremendous possession by possession impact. Hes not the most talented at all but he's elite at what he does and he has a tremendous impact. He's a perfect fit with the Knicks.
People keep hyping up inconsistent garbage because of tools when they have nothing else when obvious quality and production is right there.
I will be posting podcast #1 this Sunday with my guest from the Milwaukee Bucks Nation who's more in the middle with Edey and high on someone who i am not.
Pod #2 will be made today. It's covering both Edey and Clingan with my guest from the Memphis Grizzlies nation.
Hopefully pod #3 is someone from the hawks nation. I could really care less who they want. I just want someone knowledgeable about the game
This is pretty much true of every player though. Every play in the right situation can do well.
