    Smoove is a PF..

Then what does that do about Marvin? Smoove can DEFINATELY become a PF, especially one for our team and one for a running team. He's 20 years old and you're comparing him to Malone, Barkley and Kirilenko (who is an SF most of the time anyway), not a good comparison although Smoove could be a AK type of player.. Give him time he could definately become a PF for our team, and a great running PF. His post defense will improve as he gets more practice there.
  3. I can't believe noone has mentioned this, but the one thing Woodson did that really pissed me off was at the end of the second quarter. We had just built up a BIG lead by running, and the last 2 and a half minutes he put in ALL of our backups (including Freije and Bozeman), pretty much like we'd just cruise into the half and keep the lead. Well we didn't and ended up making a 15 point lead about 6 or 7, I can't remember exactly. Either way that was a HORRIBLE coaching decision..
  4. It's really been apparent for a while now (with his dribbling), plus he played PF or C his WHOLE HS career. But lets not forget he is still only 20 years old before giving up on him, remember we didn't think he'd contribute AT ALL his first 2-3 years. I think Josh can be better than K-Mart at the PF position. He's more athletic, jumps higher, blocks better, shoots better, and is the same size as K-Mart. Josh is the PERFECT pf for a running team, he gets down the floor, is very atletic, blocks shots and can hit the open jumper. Kenyon has always had the luxury of a good passing pg, and if we give up on Smith he will blow up somewhere else.. If he's playing PF his dribbling woes won't be as much a cancer, and he will be a tough matchup for other PF's, as he will bring them outside the paint once he makes a few jumpers. I realize he's not a great low post threat, but most PF's aren't. K-Mart isn't, he can be better than K-Mart, mainly if we start running like the 2nd quarter against the Knicks and Speedy steps up to the plate..
  5. Funny he's nothing and never will be nothing but a poor man's Kirilenko, he's 20 years old give the guy a freakin break. The funny thing is that when we drafted Josh, EVERYONE (including us) said it would be at least 2-3 years before he was even ready to contribute. Everyone knew he was very raw coming out, that's why he dropped to 17. He comes out has a pretty good rookie season, then a better 2nd season, and now after one bad game shooting he will NEVER get better? Players like him with raw skills need time to put their full game together, most of his points the last few seasons are jumpshots, put backs or fast breaks, and now y'all expect him to breakout and become the next big thing? It's not that easy. Remember that he's 20, giving up on him now for the rest of his career is just dumb.. Look how much better his jumpshot is since we drafted him (exception last night, of course), he's DEFINATELY improving. Plus players like him need a PG or at least someone to get them the ball when they are open, Speedy had 3 TO's and 0 assist, JJ had 4 assist. BTW I only remember one shot Josh took that I thought was bad, most of them were WIDE open, I can't blame him for taking those. Our whole team missed wide open jumpers all game long, it wasn't just him..
  6. I don't think we have to rebuild again.. If nothing else we have cap space and a ton of young and valuble trade assets, so we're not in a bad position.
  7. If someone would have told me we would hold Philly to 88 pts on opening night, I would have marked that down as a double digit win. Philly handed us the game about 10 times and we couldn't take advantage of it. If not starting off 20-4 we would have won the game. I think we are missing Al's offense more than I thought. We really didn't get destroyed inside, I don't think our defense was that bad. It's not just Speedy, we missed open shot after open shot after open shot. Philly looked horrible also. We came out as flat as a team could possibly come out, if Philly would have played Charlotte they would have gotten spanked by 30.. I mean we had no passion at ALL. I mean the players looked like they knew they were gonna lose, even at the beginning of the game! (EXACTLY LIKE LAST YEAR during our 2-16 start), and we had no chemistry to speak of. Our offense just stood there and did nothing and I blame that on Woodson. Do y'all think the new ball had something to do with our horrible wide open shooting? On a positive note Chill looked great, and JJ looked great in the 2nd half.. Why do we always begin the season with no passion? Like all the players just have a "disappointed" look on their face. It's the first game of the year!.. get fired up! I blame that on Woodson actually. BTW something we never really talked about before this season is that we don't have a vocal leader, AH is the only person on our team last year that even RESEMBLED one. It seems like noone says anything to each other, and I think that is a BIG problem. JJ should be our leader but he doesn't talk, not that that is a bad thing but we need some1 with experience to step up and get our team together. That's why Cassell turns every team he goes to into competitors..
  8. y'all remember what we looked like last year to start the season? Horrible, like our players just aren't getting along, then after that 2-16 start they started playing with passion and noone beat us like this, our team has NO chemistry right now and I blame that on Woodson..
  9. We are starting the season the SAME way as last year, looking like we have NO chemistry whatsoever, and our team isn't even fired up! For the FIRST game of the year! There's just a blank sad look on all of our players' faces, like they know they are gonna lose.. How does Woodson not have this team ready to go? I just don't think he's what this team needs.. I mean I know it's the first game and all but damn...
  10. Quote: Thats ok. Then we will put in the A.I. stopper Lue...lmao lmao that's funny for so many reasons
  11. Wonder what the media would say if we started 3-0 or 4-1, would be tight just to hear something positive about the Hawks for ONCE..
  12. JJ #23, I think he'll move up, hopefully Marvin or Smoove can get on that list soon. Link
  13. Quote: No post game...zero No ability still to put the ball on the floor to attack the rim. No real finishing game...except for dunks on the break. Falls asleep on defense occasionally leading to easy baskets. Sounds like you expected to see KG or JO on the floor. Post games, dribbling and lateral quickness don't come in 4 or 5 months of offseason. They take YEARS to improve. He may have added a couple of moves and you didn't see them, we'll find out in the season. What 20 year old who hasn't played PF or C before is dominating in the post right now? or EVER? Dwight Howard still doesn't have any post moves, and he's played there his entire career since high school. Quote: He does have a nice shot but when you can't really create an offensive game off the dribble it becomes harder to get your jumper. Speedy will help with penetration and kick...but I expected Smith to come back with more weapons and he came back the same. That is not what this team needed because we need to see some real growth from the young guys. Smith and Chill look the same which disappointed the heck out of me. Disappointing?? Smith had 14 pts, 11 boards, 7 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks! What do you expect from this guy? He may have gotten beat by Jamison, but that stat line tells me he's one of the reasons we were in that game in the first place. BTW Jamison is an all-star and USA player, he's not an average NBA player. Quote: But I was hoping that this offseason he would add some additional arsenal to his game on the offensive end. He did not. You saw ONE PRESEASON game, and you're saying that he added nothing, he is no better, you are disappointed, wow, what a pessimistic outlook. It's funny how when we drafted Smith he wasn't even expected to do anything for at least like 2-3 years, then he comes out and has a good rookie season, improves DRASTICALLY in his second season, and now the standards are through the roof. lmao you haven't even seen him play this season, you saw ONE PRESEASON game, thats just funny to me. EVERY article I've read about Smoove has said that he's been working hard this WHOLE summer, I've probably read about five, including quotes from JJ, Woody and others but don't feel like looking them up. Not just saying he's been working hard, saying they think he's ready to blow up. BTW did you know he's only 20 years old??
  14. Hall is widely regarded as one of the top corners (not just young corners) in the league. Some say he's the best in the NFC.. He's not overrated and has definately lived up to his billing. And yes he's had picks off deflections, but most of them aren't like that.. and plus if you look at all the other top corners, half of their picks are off deflections also. He shut TO down in the first game of his 2nd season, TO had some yards but it was the end of the game when Hall was back in zone coverage, if you saw that game he owned TO, numerous times he was thrown to and Hall broke it up. I will admit that Ward did him up this week though..

    Tonights Game.

What radio station is it gonna be on?
  16. I hope you're joking. Smoove has probably been our most clutch player going back to his rookie season. He always comes up big at the end of games..
  17. Is there somewhere I can see a frequently updated box score? ESPN doesn't have gamecast or a box score option at the moment..
  18. Quote: In short, if our goal was interior defense FOR UR TEAM Sene was the better prospect as he would not bench OUR TEAM, would play center for OUR TEAM, and he had the talent and potential to dramatically improve OUR TEAM. You're exactly right, he's the better PROSPECT. That does not mean he's the better PLAYER or ever will become the better PLAYER. At least Shelden can help us this year, and push Smoove and Marvin. Sene would not get PT here or even challenge behind Zaza and Lo, and probably wouldn't do anything for at LEAST 2 years. I don't know for fact, but I bet he has a very LOW BB IQ since he hasn't played very long which means he'll take even LONGER to develop, and thats IF he ever develops. I still would rather have gotten Foye also, but even if we ended up with Roy I'd be willing to give him a chance until he proved me wrong, unlike you with Shelden. As far as Shelden benching someone or him being a being a bench player Roy would have benched himself, because we still would have gotten Speedy because Roy is NOT ready to be an NBA starting PG, and if you say or think he is you're in denial.
  19. Solomon will never get meaningful minutes on this squad with our current team. He is FAR from ready, he's 6'9 and too skinny to EVER play Center unless he bulks up. He is currently behind Zaza, Lo, Shelden, Smoove, Marvin, and probly Batman. Trust me he isn't gonna play. Lue will probably be gone after this year or next. Royal is NOWHERE near a pg. Why not go after Gibson or Washington, especially since Speedy is injury prone? Or at least a project true 7' bigman? I hope he proves me wrong, and I like Solomon, but I just don't see why BK picked him over some other players..
  20. Quote: And how are Foye or Roy more about potential than SW. They are simply better players, more talented players. And they can start (alongside JJ without benching MW or JS!!! I think Foye can play PG, I don't see it in Roy. I could be wrong but I'll just wait until I see his assist numbers first. He probly won't play PG in Portland anyway. Quote: Again, Roy and Foye were never about potential. Where did I ever say that?? Aren't you the one who has been arguing Sene for the last month?? Quote: What I don't get is that you approve of getting SW. BK's record of 5 forwards with 5 consecutive mostly high lottery 1st rd picks? Just right! His record of 7 SFs out of 9 picks in both rounds altogether? Abomination?!? You can't hate the later and even respect the 1st. His drafting is F-ed up. We know it. Hold him accountable! I do! I was against getting Marvin, I wanted Felton first and then Paul, even over Bogut who I still believe is overrated. The Royal Ivey pick over Duhon was stupid as hell as soon as it happened. I didn't want Shelden and would have rather had Foye or traded down but frankly I don't blame BK for getting him because I watched the team last year, and our Interior D was attrocious. Although it was horrible that he made a promise to him over a month in advance of the draft.
  21. At some point you have to stop drafting potential and try and get a sure thing. This team already has too much potential anyway. I would have gotten Foye but that's really the only player I would have picked over Shelden at 5, or trade down. Roy is NOT a PG and would not have helped our cause, I'm not even sure Foye is a pg actually, but would have taken the chance. The pick we should be more concerned about is the Solomon pick. That made no sense whatsoever. We already had too many 6'9 players as it is and then we got Shelden, why draft a PROJECT who is ANOTHER 6'9 player in the 2nd round? Especially when PG's such as Gibson (who WAS considered lottery talent until about midseason) and Washington were available, not to mention plenty of other players that I don't feel like looking up right now.
  22. Did y'all actually look at the rankings? Smoove not in the top 50 SF's? Zaza not in the top 50 C's? That's rediculous regardless of their projections or age. Just look at some of the players that are ranked ahead of them.
  23. The lineup right now is Bozeman, Smith, Chill, Shelden and Zaza.. I guess Boze is PG? Are we experimenting here?
