  1. To shed light on the topic. Its strange you saying Roy is better than Joe. Just imagine if the Hawks had took Brandon Roy (6) instead of Sheldon Williams (5) in the draft (2006)
  2. What In the world is a true center. People are never proud of what they got the grass is always greener on the other side.

    Smoove a SF?

Whats this infatuation with Kaman. Lets take the boston series take smooth out and put kaman in the lineup. Bibby Johnson Marvin Horford Kaman what is that team gonna do. Smooth was the difference in the series everyone knew joe would be the main point of interest.
  6. You have got to be kidding me with this Sheldon uproar. Does no one noticed Zaza cannot guard the floor he is standing on. This guy hurts the hawks on defense immensely. I dont know how much time i must see Al Jefferson feed him crow. Play after play and coach did not make no adjustment. Everyone on the floor abused zaza pick and rolls, post ups, take ur pick. I saw about 3 defensive rebounds go right through his hands. And He did not even jump. He plays too much minutes if you ask me. He has no clue on the defensive end. When they took him out the game the easy post ups stopped.
  7. Indiana in the 7th playoff spot. Is now on a seven(7) game loosing streak, in the playoffs race they are 1 1/2 games ahead of Orlando. New Jersey and New York are 2 games behind them. They could easily be a lottery team this year. Their March schedule is horrid they got streaking Phi, Cle, Min, Was and then Atl to closeout the month. I forgot to mention Jermaine O'neal is nursing a knee injury. I wonder what stipulations if any that pick from Indiana has on it.
  8. Stubborn Ive come to the realization that Zaza Pachulia cannot guard the floor he is standing on. The hawks are handicapped when he is on the floor, he plays entirely too much if the hawks should want to become a contender. Why are so many plays run for him. If I am a coach why are so many plays going to pachulia in the post where he does not get doubled. (The entire reason for the post up is to get an open shot for a teammate or mismatch, at least that how the rest of the NBA does it). Why is it so hard for the Hawks. Everyone else gets doubled JJ, Marvin, Josh, Chilldress even newly acquired AJ they double them and the offense looks so fluent. I started to notice this watching the pheonix game when zaza was (gladly) not in the lineup. I hate the philosophy of going to zaza so often. When he makes a play it always borders either in a turnover or offensive foul. And a black hole on offense. Defensively his man that he is assigned to or switches to always has the advantage. Its like he is nailed to the floor. Our offense should be in this order JJ, Marvin, Josh thats all you need everybody else is role players. (For instance we played Dallas recently every play involved their big three Dirk, Howard, Terry thats all they ran all night (some form of pick and roll) on us everyone else was role players. 9. Perfectly said i guess the hawks are suppose to be a perfect team. I just watched phoenix do the same thing give up a big lead to Houston and win by 10. If u watch the NBA its a league of runs teams will make runs how u handle it varies from night to night.
  10. I believe fans like u are fair weather fans. Josh Smith hustle made up for his bad shooting. Is that the only thing you saw in the game tell me how bad pachulia looked and if JJ had hit that shot you would never open your mouth he had a good look and it did not go in. Josh smith is the one hustling at mid court for them to get back the ball plus the second chance rebound he pulled down. Pachulia was the one who did not even give a spark to the team. His defense was horrible I saw him flop a couple times giving up open dunks. But all u can see is josh smith when he misses shots.
  11. You can say what u want but u cant keep doing business by giving away your best asset for minimum gain. I have yet to see another team in the nba go about business i n letting players go the way the hawks do. Eventually it will catch up with them. They need to get back more in return for their assets they are my team but i hate that aspect of management. From Rasheed for a pick then Payton they waived now Harrington for a pick. It might have more that does not come to mind. The first two ironically has championships go figure. Productive players are hard to come by. And the Hawks let them go for free.
  12. Would be a good pick he was slated as a first round pick
  13. Must we forget were talking about an Atlanta Hawks coaching staff who does things backwards. Diaw was not starting on a loosing team also but with right coaching he is making a name for himself. Our coaching sucks no winning formula and still just learning. If we had get paul last year sumtin with the coaches would of limited his performance I can feel it.
  14. No one even comes close to Phantom calls than Jordan D. Wade was not even close to what special priviledges Mr. Jordan use to get. Stop hating on flash beides he is only gonna get better. Scary Huh.
  15. Im praying to god your not comparing Boris "pass first" Diaw to those players. When Boris can do it on his own being the main gun on a team then you can glamorize him. When he does that give him his own team.
  16. The way how sum of u talk its like we are the world champions. Salim missed the shot it happens to da best of them. You make some you loose some. But to say Salim has not been a pleasant suprise thus far for this season is bullshit. He makes fear in opponents earlier payton fouled him at the three point line do you see rookies getting those kind of calls. I for one was very proud to see the Hawks giving the Heat fits. When Miami is considered a title contender and has the most dominant big man in tha game. Dont forget they have our best player from our team last year and he is like 4th on their star chart. Just to see the hawks being competitive is pleasing to me. Yes we lost and im upset we did not win but dont go on like the Hawks did not show good signs against a superior team. In Miami witth the oficials looking for the more glamourous names to give preference to.
  17. Do you pay attention to the salary that this guy makes. 13,700,000 he has mad skills but if Atlanta was to take on his salary he has three years left on his deal that would be the next time they can get a legit big man. I dont know how NY is gonna survive their roster. Atlanta Joe Johnson $12,000,000 Al Harrington $6,975,500 No one else over $4,000,000 New York Stephon Marbury $16,453,125 Jalen Rose $15,694,250 Steve Francis $13,700,000 Maurice Taylor $9,000,000 Eddy Curry $7,394,663 Jamal Crawford $6,480,000 Malik Rose $6,979,147 Quintin Richardson $6,945,500 They do have good talent on paper. But I wont doubt they crumble too much can happen. Give isiah credit he takes risks.
  18. JJ isnt that much better than Diaw (who the hell are you watching when they play) lets trade their places and put Diaw in JJ place and vice versa what would happen. Diaw has stars around him causing him not to face double teams he has teams weak defenders at him because their often defending the better players. JJ is the number on option he gets team oriented defense keying on him. What would diaw do faulter in that instance (proven last year when he was with the hawks). He had his chance last year never showed heart he is in a good situation that all.
  19. Wow Diaw has really done sumtin big. How in the world can u say that. He is da same player passing up shots passive, only difference, he has better ball players around him and thats the fact. How much times did i hear anouncers making the same comments they said when he was in Atlanta. He plays the same way to me. And is scared to shoot.
  20. Dont know whats your love for Darko. But Harrington for Darko is laughable. In that interview they also said if he has been in Detroit for 3 years and he cannot learn anything playing the wallace boys everyday up until now and he still can't crack minutes or show he can play at this level he just cannot play in the NBA sucessfully. Coach thompson said he cannot play straight out. Now if you want to take your (argueably) best player and trade for a 11/12 rank bench player have fun being the door mat for the NBA. The most he is worth is maybe a draft pick right now (mid Round) not harrington.
  21. go to Audio league pass its on now. Its free for pre season its 43-38 bobcats 2nd quarter
  22. Dominican Republic HS where did u get this information from To correct your statement Tim Duncan attended St. Dunstan's High School on the islands of St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands. And the swimming he was actually a swimmer first from a young age and then when Hurrican Hugo came along and damaged the islands especially the pool where he used to swim, thats when he started to pick up basketball.
  23. Just like hawks fans. Negative Negative Negative. Nobody out there was themselves Mcgrady missed a dunk, Dwayne Wade missed a dunk, Kobe Bryant missed a layup it was a charity game for gods sake nobody cared about the score just not to get injured and to support the cause plus have a little fun making people smile. To me I think JJ played way too much in this game. What you'll wanted him to play hard and get hurt he played safe and i like how he played.
  24. NBA seeks Uruguayan player www.chinaview.cn 2005-09-06 08:54:54 MONTEVIDEO, Sept. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Representative of Uruguayan basketball player Esteban Batista, one of the figures of the Dominican Republic pre-world championship competition, said he expects United States' NBA formalizes in the coming hours an offer to acquire the player, said Monday the local press. Oscar Moglia, representative of the 22-year-old player, said Aaron Goodwin, of the most prestiged NBA agents, would formally offer a two-season contract in behalf of the Atlanta Hawks. With the Uruguayan national basketball team, Batista ended first in rebounds at the end of the second phase of the pre-world championship contest (125, 15.6 avg.), sixth in the table of scorers (144 points, 18 avg.) and fifth in free shots. Moglia informed there exist other offers from Germany, Spain, Italy, Israel, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. Batista's representative did not rule out the player request the transfer Tuesday for any team of the Uruguayan league should none of the offers succeeds. Batista, 2.06-meters, is one of the key figures of the Uruguayan basketball, which ended eighth in Dominican Republic. Enditem
