  1. Quote: I'd take Felton for Marvin every day of the week personally. That's how I felt going into their draft; my opinion hasn't changed.
  2. Quote: In Big East play, Hibbert averaged 6 rebounds a game. This is my answer to the original thread question. That's pathetic for a 7'2" starter.
  3. Quote: if anyone gets any definite info on the schedule, please post here. thanks It won't be officially announced 'til Thursday--per NBA TV. The West seedings won't be decided 'til late tomorrow night.
  4. While I agree that Smoove struggles with PF matchups, I think he should get more credit for the impact of his mere presence. There are so many times where he just erases penetration, alters shots or intimidates without blocking the shot. Not to mention he averages 1.5 steals as a combo F. And to have Dooling on the 2nd Team with his 18 minutes a game...over Billups yet? Bowen the overrated-dirty-cheap shot-hatchet man who gets a free pass to foul at will every game? Paul Pierce? HOLLINGER IS A JOKE!
  5. I agree although I'm sure it's not the first time this has happened. I just hope Doc Rivers doesn't get coach of the year.
  6. Quote: If we would have won both 76ers game we would be getting ESPN talk, I bet. I doubt it. They will always look for a different, more appealing story to talk about. Thanks for posting the article. I like USA Today's perspective.
  7. After seeing that I'm very content with what we have.
  8. Quote: Quote: Of course it being Peter V we have to take it with a grain of salt. Vescey is a complete idiot, I much rather hear it from some one else. Exactly. This tool has ZERO credibility (but somehow keeps a job).
  9. Yeah that is a real nice half-court play. I remember jumping out of my seat when Bibby ran it in one of his first games as a Hawk. Good defensive teams won't let that happen though.
  10. Quote: Acie had a SWEET drive to the hoop last night towards the end of the game where he changed direction in the air and layed it in. That was nice. He put some serious english on that one. It's great being ambidextrous.
  11. Quote: i'm sure solomon appreciates all the love but isn't that Josh Smith in that highlight? Does anybody watch games? How has this gone unchecked? Video didn't work for me but it had to be Smoove if it was the Bibby oop from halfcourt.
  12. Quote: Not that it will do any good but you never know. If anyone here has League Pass, please take the time to send them an email requesting they even out the announcing situation. Thanks leaguepass@nba.com Thanks for posting--email sent. Maybe they don't know Hawks fans exist!
  13. Quote: Here is a vid of Bogut high fiving himself at the foul line. That is hilarious but sad at the same time.
  14. Quote: Can we call Stacey Augmon in here to help our guys with perimeter defense and Kevin Willis for post defense ? So you're not impressed with Alton Lister?
  15. Quote: It's been a long time coming, but at least it came. This post is a couple years overdue. Quite an accomplishment there, Woodrow! Almost as many wins as the Patriots in the same amount of time.
  16. Quote: Meanwhile, it appears as though Horfy is having two overall bad games in a row. Is he hitting the rookie wall? Looks like he has no legs right now.
  17. Quote: 19 minutes 2 points 0-5 shooting and 8 rebounds. THAT'S the Gooden I know! Quote: Good win tonight though. U feeling OK?
  18. Quote: I win by default this year? Not so fast...here goes: #11 Saint Joseph's over #6 Oklahoma #10 South Alabama over #7 Butler #12 Villanova over #5 Clemson #11 Kansas State over #6 USC #10 Davidson over #7 Gonzaga #9 Oregon over #8 Mississippi State #9 Texas A&M over #8 BYU #12 Western Kentucky over #5 Drake #11 Baylor over #6 Purdue #10 Arizona over #7 West Virginia
  19. Quote: really? Someone on here already set up a league on Yahoo! group ID 123788 password firemikewoodson
  20. Quote: This is just some blogger's opinion on a game he doesn't understand. Ironic you said that. If this rule or lack thereof is not amended I suggest the NBA mandate Kurt Rambis goggles and Rip Hamilton masks for all players ASAP. Then we can watch teams score 40 points a game.
  21. Quote: OK. I read it for exactly 1.5 seconds and... here you go: What does it say at the end there? lol! Keep reading.
  22. Quote: "hand in the face" is in no way a metaphor. You are 100% wrong and must not have ever really played or had a coach for any length of time to say that. You do everything you can to stop your opponent from scoring. If you can't block the shot, you block the eyes. The defender can make any motion he wants so long as he does not strike the ball handler. I'm totally amazed that there is any confusion on this. So you didn't read the article posted above either? I'm not talking "face guarding" like the NFL.
  23. Quote: Come On ! Players have been getting a" hand in the face " forever. It is taught to 7 year olds in every YMCA in the country. How many time have you heard a commentator like, Dicky V., say: "Well, all you can do vs. that shot is get a hand in their face ?" . Bowen does it reguarly vs. Dirk. When matched vs. Dirk, Bowen has no prayer of coming close to actualy effecting his shot if he didn't get his hand in his face. Dumars vs. Jordan.......same thing. That is how you guard a guy who elevates really high on jumpers. Its all you can do. Have none of you notice opposing player do this vs. JJ ? Hawks players do it on occaison but it seems so random that its likely more luck then design. "Hand in the face" is a metaphor, unlike face guarding which is covering a player's eyes/face as opposed to contesting their shot. This thread is silly.
  24. Quote: It is a brilliant move...It is probably banned in those other leagues because it actually works and if everyone did it it would cause a drop in offensive production leaguewide. I am going to Run N' Shoot today and try it out. You're right it's brilliant. Better yet, why doesn't everyone just play with blindfolds on. It's about as brilliant as throwing up the white flag. I can tell many posters on here have never played basketball.
  25. Quote: unsportsmanlike? you never heard of get a hand in his face? Doing that is a very well coached player, and less likely to get a foul called on someone like Kobe, who the refs will call a foul if you try to jump w/ him and block his shot, and he happens to miss it. There is a huge difference between "getting a hand in his face" and face guarding. Getting a hand in their face means closely contesting the shot. Face guarding is actually covering their eyes/face with your hands. Read the article linked above. It's dangerous and dirty and there's no place for it in this blessed game.
