Yeah Smoove showed what he could do every night. Props to our bench especially Zaza and Flip. Solo with the facial and salute had me ROFL. Feels good to win a close game.
I hate this loss but I hope the guys are forced to watch the tape and called out on their mistakes.
I'm a huge Smoove fan but his ego is what's keeping him from being a superstar. He scored 20 pts WITHOUT making a perimeter shot, yet many of his attempts were from beyond 15 ft. Imagine his ppg and fg% if he stayed within his strengths. Let it come to ya big fella. His shooting form actually looks worse than ever--where are you Mark Price? One time in 2nd half he finally got nasty for a second and tried to dunk on someone (got fouled). He has the athleticism to do that just about every time...but where is the tenacity? What happened to the Olajuwan moves? He doesn't even try them.
Zaza's and Horf's travels...ugh...don't they work on these things? I mean this is EVERY GAME! Bibby has to be frustrated at times. I wish his BBIQ was contagious. Zaza did have me jumping out of my chair in the 1st half when he got the steal and led the break
We played zone for too long and our guys lost interest in defense. I was running at my tv trying to get a hand in the Nets' faces as they buried countless open 3's. I know 'Rio is a bit of a liability on offense but at least he will ALWAYS be hungry on D. He makes a hustle play and throws a dagger at the half--let's reward him with a courtside seat for the rest of the night!
VC should be T'd up every time he moans and groans goin to the hoop throwing his arms up looking for a bailout. Tired of it. Glad our guys aren't into that drama. He had one FG inside the 3pt line and we give him the uncontested 3 all night. Moving on...
I went with Ernie, Kenny and Chuck. But if I could pick ANY three of those listed, it would be Chuck, Smitty and Legler. The rest (besides Ernie) are worthless IMO.
I've had LP since 5 years in a row now and i agree. Seems like many announcers are just getting by with common knowledge and are not big fans or students of the game.
The most painful thing for me to watch was the Spurs getting EVERY loose ball. You can make up for some missed shots/turnovers with hustle plays. We made Bonner and Hill look like legends.
Seems like some of our guys are "coasting" through the games--turning it on/off whenever they want. The chemistry is not there.
Slightly OT but speaking of picks...seemed like every one was moving. I think they actually called one on Perk but hard to play D when dealing with that.
I knew after Marv hit that last 3 there was still too much time left. I assumed one of their big 3 would get to the line.
With .5 secs left on the clock why are we inbounding it 30 feet from the hoop? Not the reason we lost but throw it near the hoop if nobody is open...ya never know what might happen.
I agree. GW has added a perimeter game to go with his slashing and defensive game. I've been a Marvin supporter since Day 1 but I've liked GW since his early days in Sactown and I'm drooling thinking about him on our squad. Fat chance.
We need to make Philly a jump shooting team like they did to us. Sixers aren't even working on defense and it's translating to easy buckets for them. Our halfcourt game is still way too much one-on-one and ZERO second chance points.
