Gray Mule
Pitching did. Hitting didn't. Can't fault the pitching for final game loss. The two games Glavine pitched, now that is a different matter. Braves failed to play "Small Ball" and waited for the "Three run homer" which didn't come. Get them on, get them over and get them in. They failed to do this and it cost them the game. Station to station. How many bases did the braves steal in the entire series? Hit and run? What's that? Ask one of the sluggers to lay down a bunt? Are you kidding? We are the mighty Braves and we had rather go down swinging than to be humiliated by being asked to bunt. That is for pitchers, not for sluggers like me. On Glavine. I'll do it my way or die trying. He did and he did. End of story. Gray Mule
Guest
Glavine is aging pretty quick. You can see it on his face and everything. But the Braves have Damien Moss and Marquis if he should improve sooner or later. The Braves need so hitters besides high fastball hitters.Every body talks about the GM doing such a great job,but why has he brought in the same type of hitters? Andruw Jones could be the best CF in the league if he hit the ball to right field more.Chipper Jones year wasn't as good as it looked on paper. Did Smoltz really say they were"toying"around with Barry Bonds??What a stupid comment to make.
