I say Hawksquawk organizes a official protest of the Hawks. We should draft a letter, representing all Hawksquawkers, and send it to Babcock, Kasten, AOL Sport, Turner Sports, Phillip Arena Management, Disney ( ESPN and ABC), the NBA, the AJC, Marrietta Daily Journal, WXIA, WSB 750. The List goes On I will post it later. We need to demand change, and until this team puts up a winner we must boycott the Hawks, We will refuse to patronize games, purchase Hawks Sports ware and, at least, claim to refuse to watch any Media or purchase any products produced by Time Warner AOL. Although there are just 170 members here the companies will take it seriously, because it will be interpreted that many more fans are participating in the protest. Hawksquawk can be the headqaurters for the battle against mediocrity.

We can garner national attention to our cause, take donations to buy adds in the AJC sports page and rally more to the cause. If the Hawks refuse to provide a qaulity good then we will refuse to buy or support it.

Send out the word to all the fan sites, all sports media from Chad Ford to David Aldridgethe Hawks must change or be driven from town.

I love the intention BlackHawk, but really... they aren't TRYING to field a losing club.

They just are.

If we find a way to get that fight in every game, we'll be okay. But, we need it for 3-4 quarters, not 1 1/4.

Honestly I can't see it doing any good. The Hawks org has never given us any breaks. They don't even reply my emails. Despite being the most centralized location for Hawks fans on the net, we are considered small time. Though with their pathetic ticket sales, we could easily represent a good 10% of them now. ehhe

The Atlanta Hawks are a business, and we are the their clients. The Hawks continue mediocrity because the organization has remained profitable. The Hawks are not an isolated endogenous system, their televsion revenues will go down under threat of protest. Sponsors will withdraw from Hawks Events, Attendence will go down, Licensing profits will go down. Texaco lost over a billion 7 years ago when they were protested, the Adams Mark is still paying repartions from protest over poor service.The list goes on and on. If you are an AOL user cancel your subscription get MSN or High Speed ethernet, when you withdraw say it is part of the Hawks protest. Call UPN and FoxSports sale office let them know of the protest It is time we leverage our power as consumers.

WE MUST END OUR BICKERING AND FIGHT FOR CHANGE. WE MEAN MORE TO THAT ORGANIZATION THAN THEY MEAN TO US. IF WE ARE UNSATISFIED WE MUST FORCE CHANGE.

There were maybe 900 people there tonight, so I think that a boycott may already be in progress.

Honestly, some of us believe that Pete's time is short with the team.

He has been less active during games in the last few contests, and his demeanor is that of a dead man walking.

His hiring of Kruger is beginning to look even worse than at the time of his firing, as the team seems to have been ill equipped to match up with NBA teams in terms of gameplan. (See the "Hawks Begin, Yet Again")

I am as upset as you are about this team. It is hard to be a fan year after year to a loosing team. However I feel a boycot would only insure that we are watching a ST. Louis Hawks or even a Charlotte Hawks for that mattter as appose to The Atlanta Hawks. Becarefull of what you ask for. You may just get a quality Hawks team for another city. AOL/Timewaner are in the buisness to make money if they are not making it they will find a way to make it.

they can't leave for some time (Jay might be able to give you the details) due to their contract with Phillips...I'm not even going to go into this discussion again, we had it this summer over reasons why they can't leave...

nevertheless, I'm a Hawks fan. I can only go to games during break periods from school, but I'll continue to root for them
