Here's his response to my email about the status of the team:

-The state of our team is extremely disappointing as we are dramatically underachieving. We are aggressively exploring all trade options to add ballhandling, defensive toughness and continued talent improvement...time will tell. We are NOT shopping JT and would prefer to keep him for the long term if we can. Thank you for your thoughts and comments.

Yeah, that was the intention of this trade...We wouldn't make it unless we knew that the season was a waste...It's something to keep in mind if Babcock really wants to keep JT on the roster.

Injured garbage that would be gone at the end of the year leaving more $ to resign JT...and no one would ever make that trade unless the Hawks were well out of playoff contention near the trade deadline...It's a "free up cap space" for next year...
