Guest
Some guys said they have heard a rumor that the Hawks will trade Shareef/21st pick/Glover/future 1st rounder for Allen Iverson and Monty Williams and the 50th pick in the draft. They said they heard it on Fox Sports South..Anybody heard this rumor? With Brown being gone it wouldn't suprise me if AI is traded. Atlanta trades: PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (19.9 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 3.0 apg in 38.1 minutes) SF Dion Glover (9.7 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 1.9 apg in 24.9 minutes) Atlanta receives: SF Monty Williams (4.4 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.2 apg in 13.1 minutes) SG Allen Iverson (27.6 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 5.5 apg in 42.5 minutes) Change in team outlook: +2.4 ppg, -5.8 rpg, and +1.8 apg. Philadelphia trades: SF Monty Williams (4.4 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.2 apg in 13.1 minutes) SG Allen Iverson (27.6 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 5.5 apg in 42.5 minutes) Philadelphia receives: PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (19.9 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 3.0 apg in 81 games) SF Dion Glover (9.7 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 1.9 apg in 76 games) Change in team outlook: -2.4 ppg, +5.8 rpg, and -1.8 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Atlanta and Philadelphia being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Atlanta and Philadelphia had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
dj_me
If this were to happen, JT would surely be gone. It would be sweet if Iverson and JT played together JT Iverson Robinson Nazr Theo Another thing, if this happened, is that Robinson would HAVE to be moved. He would not work on this team. Still, interesting...
Boondocks
I love Ivey but I wouldn't do it. His little body takes such a pounding he's bound to have a shorter career.
Hawks4ever
I would do that trade. Then we could trade JT for like Odom to be the tall PG PG Lamar Odom SG Allen Iverson SF Glen Robinson PF Theo Ratliff C Nazr Mohammed
TheDude
well that's a toughy...i'd like to have iverson on the team but it doesn't seem a good fit though... then we'd definitely have the smallest backcourt in the league and that wouldn't be good...plus glenrob wouldn't fit in with allen iverson's type play...i'd say trade glenrob instead of reef and you';ve got a deal... if not, fine, do the trade, but we'd have to make some other trades as well to get a good fit or chemistry... Traceman
Iverson is one of the league's biggest draws and he's a top 10 player. He and JT couldn't play together all the time but they could play together at times ala Nash and Van Exel. If we got AI, I'd look to make JT the league's best 6th man. Guest
Van Exel is better than JT in just about every way possible. We'd surely have to get a top notch coach.Somebody talked about Iverson short career...but his contract runs out the same time Reef's does. Traceman
Van Exel is very good when he's on but he can also shoot you right out of a game just as he did last night. Jacking up 3's early in the clock is great when they are falling but when your team is struggling and you keep jacking up wold shots, it can cost you. He also is a HORRIBLE defender. He makes JT look like GP on D. Put JT on the floor with Nash, Nowitzki and Finley and see how good he looks.
Guest
Jt does the samething...Stands at the 3pt line and fires away.Other than shooting Jt has very little skills..Can't pass/rebound/play defense/attack the lane(more that he is scared too)and he doesn't seem to be a smart player.JT was given some skill but almost no basketball IQ...His lack of basketball IQ is what will be his downfall. Van Exel can post up,take the ball to the basket and he's alot better passer than JT is. The biggest problem I have with Michael Adams JR is his lack of basketball IQ.He almost never does the correct thing and often looks lost.
