New York trades: SF Latrell Sprewell (16.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 4.5 apg in 38.6 minutes) C Michael Doleac (4.4 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 0.6 apg in 13.9 minutes) New York receives: SF Glenn Robinson (20.8 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 3.0 apg in 69 games) C Nazr Mohammed (4.6 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.2 apg in 35 games) PG Dan Dickau (3.7 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 50 games) Change in team outlook: +8.3 ppg, +4.4 rpg, and -0.2 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Atlanta and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Atlanta and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. You have been assigned Trade ID number 1097727 Talk about it on the Trade Board" And we get there 9th pick Dog/Nazr/Dickau for Spree/Dolec/9th pick? Reece Gaines/Troy Bell JT/Newble/Parvolic or Howard Spree/DJ/ SAR/Hendu Theo/Dolec/FA? Dan Dickau/Eisley Allan Houston/Postell Glenn Robinson/????? Antonio McDyess/Spoon Kurt Thomas/Nazr Or would we have to throw in the 21st pick?
Guest
I don't think that they should need any more enticement for that trade. It's a solid deal.
Traceman
take Gaines at #9. I would play JT at PG and Spree at SG. I'd then draft the best available player at #9 regardless of position. I'd probably target Jarvis Hayes to play SF but if Lampe dropped, I could see taking him as well. I think that Spree is definitely best at SG and the fact that he has had to play SF for NY is one of the reasons his production has dropped off in the last few seasons. He is declining but I think he would be fine for 2 more seasons, particularly when we get the #9 pick to boot. The bottom line is that I would not trade Dog for Spree straight up but if we got the #9 pick to boot, done deal! Good proposal.
Guest
Spree isn't in the longterm plan. He's old.The 9th pick is the prize here.Getting Spree for Dog is just getting someone that would better help our team right now.
