Guest
The trade wasn't Ortiz for Millwood you moron.Millwood was traded for a catcher that is playing in Minor leagues at like 28 years old.I know Millwood had to go because of a future contract, but it's still a deal AOL made because of cap issues. You guys are the ones that have gotten defensive because I said AOL traded Millwood for Estrada for salary cap purposes and that was the point I was trying to make. Guest
And show me where to praise a franchise with no owner, coach, PG, bench. We are stuck in Clippers land for years to come because of AOL.
Guest
Sorry for my comment, but it's just stupid that people are going crazy because I said Millwood was traded because of future cap space basically.Somewhat like the Dog trade. It's the truth as to why he was traded. It's the truth...The Braves would probably tell you that themselves.
jeddelong
No sweat, I agree with you partially; however, you give the Braves organization and its players far too little credit. Seriously though, you an I widely disagree about what it means to be a fan. That won't ever change, probably?!
drzachary
Mdawg didn't say "Millwood was traded for Ortiz." He said that Ortiz replaced Millwood, which is true. 2nd best starter left, new pitcher becomes second in the new rotation ... and later the winningest pitcher in MLB this season. Guest
Actually, Ortiz is better than Maddux.....I'd say Ortiz is the best pitcher the Braves have to offer. He does bore me because he's sloppy..But he is good enough to get the guys out most times.I think some make alittle to much of his record though.Would he have even 14 wins if he wasn't playing beside such a good offense? Not very likely...
Guest
At one time I wouldn't have agreed about the fan issue. But, the fact is that these players now don't care about the fans....They care about the money, fame, and the stats. Look at Kenyon Martin.....He thinks he's worth the max,(clearly he is not) and he wants to be traded just because the max isn't thrown at him.Why should fans be loyal to a guy like that? I mean, what's in it for us that we have to support a player no matter what? I felt more of your way when I was a kid. But I grew out of the supporting players no matter what stage. There are people in africa that die and starve each day of their lives and just hope for a meal from day to day.. Meanwhile, these players whine and [censored] about every little dime they don't get. It's sickening.
