Premium Member turnermx Posted January 14, 2015 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 14, 2015 ATLANTA -- Atlanta Hawks radio broadcaster Steve Holman has been voted the 2014 Georgia Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA). He will be honored during the NSSA’s annual awards banquet on June 8, 2015 in Salisbury, NC. Holman, in his 30th season as the “Voice of the Hawks,” has never missed a broadcast, a run of nearly 2,500 games. His play-by-play streak, which began in March of 1989, is currently at 2,175, including regular season and playoffs. Along with several awards for sports reporting, Holman was inducted into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame in 2011 and has won the Georgia Associated Press Award for his Hawks coverage.
