Boondocks
You usually don't draft a superstar player with the 21st pick, Diaw was a very good 21st pick, a utility guy so to speak. Howard has had good games on a team where they play no D and the opponent concentrates on Dirk, Nash, Finley, Jamison and Walker when they're in the game. Diaw plays lock down D, has court vision and the ability to score which he unfortunately as of yet doesn't do enough BUT he's a rookie, he'll only get better. Gray Mule
But, you didn't answer the question. It's good to talk about players and make fun of their talents and abilities. It's great to run down the players the Hawks have and to point out their obvious weaknesses. Boris Diaw is a young, rookie Point Guard who has, for the most part, began to run the offense of the team. He has the talent to handle the ball well, make good decisions when the ball is in his hands, making accurate passes and playing terrific defense. He is also the Hawks best rebounder on the offensive boards. Boris Diaw is not yet a great scorer, therefore he is of no use. If he can't score at least 20 per night, get rid of him. His other talents don't matter. QUESTION: Where are all those "SUPER STAR" players that we so desperately need? How can the Hawks get these players? Who would be foolish enough to trade even one of them to the Hawks? And, we need five. After all, we don't want any of those "role" players, we want five great ones!! All these teams who have these great players have to do is read the evaluation of each player on this Hawks roster that you have made from time to time. Then they will know that not one player the Hawks have is worth a good player from the Development League. So, please explain how the Hawks can ever expect to trade for these desired players? I'm with you. I agree that we need them. We need players that the fans will come out and watch. Sell out Phillips Arena every Hawks game with Hawks fans so that the opponent's fans can't even find tickets. To accomplish this, you obviously have a plan how we can do all this -- Please share it with the rest of us!!!
Plainview1981
The Hawks are in a position where they have to start collecting lotto picks and you hope to find your star that way. Unless the hawks can get Ray Allen or some one you will have to collect lotto picks and take chances on players that have the potential to be explosive.
