KB21
The Hawks will go into the 2005 offseason with a little over $13 million in committed salary. If the cap stays at the $43 million it is at now, the Hawks will have $30 million to spend on free agents.

beav
a heart-stopping list is it? Particularly when you figure that a good chunk of those players will never really hit the open market. I don't know about the trade. While I wasn't opposed to trading JT I really would think that the combo of JT and Hendu's ending contract (hey he's finally worth something!) could have fetched better than Walker. On top of everything it's no secret that Walker is not great in the locker room, is not enamored of playing defense and is frequently out of shape. IMO, at some point the Hawks need to be acquiring players for the future with these huge cap clearers (or at least picks in the case of Portland!) rather than salary dumps of players with value. I suppose that this is a roundabout way of saying that I'm not quite so impressed with billy knight as a lot of you guys are. But, let's see what he does now in all fairness.
