  1. He might have already max out his potential. I can't see why people want to give up on MW and trade him after a rookie year.
  2. I am not sure what Charlotte would want for Okafor. Before his injury this year he had fell out of favor with Bickerstaff and the fan base. There is alot of debate on whether he would come back the starting PF.
  3. I agree...the NBA doesn't want more 4-0 sweeps. If Memphis had a legit people's superstar they would still be in there tied 2-2. It's big money to have these teams on as long as possible.
  4. I think the refs have gotten in the head of Shaq. The rest of the Heat better step their game up.
  5. Quote: However, after 2 very successful years would JT want to return to Atlanta? I think we can give up on JT coming back to Atlanta. He has tasted the playoffs with a team who can go deep and content for a championship. No way will he come back to our rebuilding efforts.
  6. According to news oout of Denver, he is suppose to be back at 100% before the beginning of training camp. Is he still worth a look?
  7. I thought Nene could have been back for the playoffs, but he decided no to rush his comeback. The news was his rehab was ahead of schedule.
  8. What happened to Nene? A few months ago all the talk was about signing Nene to an offer; what happened?
  9. It's time for Bosh to sign an extension and with the contract Dalembert signed we will not be able to resign our young players. I do like the team.
  10. The one thing AI would do is put asses in seats at the Phil. This has to a consideration on some of the moves this summer, so it might happen.
  11. I think BK is safe and he knows it. Plus the owners are too involved with Belkin right now.
  12. I think back to him not trading AL before the trading deadline. If he had bowed down to the fans, he would traded our biggest trade asset for someone who would have kill our CAP and not helped our team in the long run. Now our team is one of a few who can take on a big salary if needed. The point is we have options now. We will have a high draft pick with one of the most attractive FA in AL we can use in a sign/trade. We have room under the CAP to make other moves to improve the team. If we can get a defensive Big to patrol the middle our record would significantly improve. We lost 14 games this year by 3 points or less and several more by 5 or less.
  13. Quote: Woodson will return as coach By SEKOU SMITH The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Published on: 04/20/06 Hawks general manager Billy Knight said Thursday that Mike Woodson will return for a third season coaching the team he took over in July 2004. "Woody's status is fine," Knight said when asked by the Journal-Constitution what Woodson's status was as the Hawks head into the summer after a 26-56 season. "He's going to be coaching the team again. I think he's done a good job with the team. You can see improvement all the way through, both with the team and with individual players. "I evaluate coaches by just a few things. Does that guy's team play hard? Yeah, I think they play hard. Did they improve throughout the year? I think we improved throughout the year. Are they organized and structured out there? Yes, I think they are. So those are the three basic things I use to evaluate a young coach in this league to begin with, and certainly a coach that is here with us who has a team in a rebuilding situation, which is where we are." Woodson survived a tumultuous 2-16 start, that was preceded by the Oct. 15 death of Hawks backup center Jason Collier, by guiding the Hawks to 13 more wins than they had a year ago. After conducting exit interviews with his players Thursday, Woodson said the subject of his job security was never raised. The collective focus of the franchise, he said, needs to be on the players taking the "next step." "I think we withstood a lot of adversity at the beginning of the year, that's all I will say," said Woodson, who has compiled a 39-125 record during his Hawks tenure. "And as a coach I'll never concern myself about my job status. I'll never do that. I have too much pride in what I do as a coach. And I think whatever happens is going to happen. "A lot of things you can't control in this league. But the thing that I can control is how I approach my job each and every day I come to work. And I'll never give an owner or a GM any out to say I'm not doing my job. Because I try to work my [tail] off and my staff works the same way to make sure that we prepare to play basketball. "Sometimes, things don't work out the way you plan. That's what happened at the beginning of the year. We just couldn't win during that stretch ... but I don't wake up and go to bed every night worrying about my job or being fired." Knight said Woodson's unwavering approach and refusal to lean on any of the aforementioned factors as the cause for the team's lack of on-court success, bolstered his standing. "Was he willing to adjust as the year went on? Yes he did do those things, he adjusted and adapted to what we had," Knight continued. "Did he use any excuses when there were injuries and we didn't have enough big men out there for him? He didn't make any excuses for anything all year. I'm happy with him, and with a young coach and his development, too. He's growing every day. He's a better coach today than when we hired him two years ago. He's going to be a better coach tomorrow than he is today. "Does he do everything right? No, he doesn't do everything right. Has he made mistakes? Yeah, he's made mistakes. But let he who has not erred cast the first stone." (Knight would not elaborate on the Woodson's mistakes.) A similar sentiment was echoed by Woodson's players as they exited the locker room on their way to summer break. "I love Wood as coach, I think we all do," said Hawks co-captain Joe Johnson. "We just have such a young team. And its tough, it's a tough situation for him because as a coach in this league if you're team is not doing well it ultimately reflects on you." Woodson has at least one more to get us to the playoffs
  14. or you can go to the next chapter where he sends SAR to Atlanta for our first round #3 pick and get Gasol who is now a stud in the league and SAR has been a journeyman since. Maybe that's what he has in store for Al.
  15. What I really like is how he took his game to another lever after winning the slam dunk contest. The word out of Golden State is B Davis won't pass to anyone except JRich. Bad Chemistry on that team.....
  16. This may have already been posted but I didn't know Dominique was going to be part owner of the Hawks. Good for the owners to let our basketball icon buy into the team. http://www.ajc.com/hawks/content/sports/ha.../0309hawks.html
  17. I don't BK will ever cuff our hands with Francis' contract especially with the attitude problems that goes with him.
  18. He is the number 1 prospect in the organization. He is the first name in all trade discussions, but so far the Braves have refused. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do, and see if the team not give in and trade him.
  19. There is clearly no real information on this guy, but my first thoughts were; "Was this guy dominating in the NBDL or something?" or is he just someone to fill an open spot. Instead of going by his stats, hopefully BK seen a guy who can play defense...that's what we need in the middle.
  20. It's like someone else telling you your kids are bad. It may be true but you don't want to hear it. I don't get upset with the negative articles written about the Hawks because they have been bad. The problem I have is these articles are nothing but a poor attempt to make a joke of the team. They never look at the team and comment on how they are improving or the positives on the team. They love to focus on keeping the team in the news as the laughing stock of the league.

  22. lol...I bet he takes full advantage of his one night.
  23. It look like Isiah is not in trouble of losing his job. So there is a chance we can still deal with him this summer. SInce I don't want any of the players except Frye from the Knicks; maybe we can get in on a three way with them. Link: web page
