  1. I agree.....we can come out of this the big winners. Since Artest showed his ass off and the Pacers have vowed to trade him, they have let it be known they want Harrington back basically since he knows the system. We can use that to get a little extra out of the deal. Teams have been doing this to us for years now it's our turn.
  2. That second trade looks more and more like the deal that will be made. I don't think BK has been satisfied with any of the the players involved yet. The one problem Denver has right now is getting someone to take Watson off their hands and eat his contract.
  3. I feel your pain on the loss of the game, but the last time I looked Charlotte was still in the NBA and can win on a given night as Atlanta did when we upsetted San Antonio. After the loss last night didn't change our chances of making the payoffs drop that much. We still has some big wins against teams who the experts would say we will not beat. Don't give up on our chances just yet. As for AL, I think if Watson/Nene were the deal it would have already taken place. Right now the rumor is three to four teams are involved in this trade. I wouldn't be surprised if we get someone who is not even on the radar right now. Whoever it is I hope we are on the screwing end of the deal and not the ones benting over.
  4. If you believe the one rumor, "BK nixed the 3 way trade which would have brought Watson and Nene to Atlanta because he did not want Watson", then that tells me BK knows AL is not going to resign here. I know AL says all the right things for the media, but behind close doors I believe he has let it be known he is jumping ship. If that's the case, I have to give BK credit for holding out for the best trade possibility. In the past two years we have two major trade prospects which we did not get equal value (Walker and Sheed). The Walker deal looked decent on paper until Payton refused to report. We did come away with draft picks but we could have strong armed some teams who wanted these players to put them over the hump like Phoenix did us because they knew we really wanted JJ. I would like for us resign Al because I can see the team coming together and with money under the salary cap I feel we can finally lure top free agents to Atlanta. If we do not get into this Artest trade somehow then I think BK will wait until we get closer to the deadline and pressure the teams who feel they are in the race and put the hammer to then and get the most out of the trade.
  5. I felt he may be gone once we traded for the left fielder last week.
  6. I agree Knapp has to go, but the Falcons has to upgrade their personnel. The Falcons need a big play reciever period! That will take a lot of pressure off of Vick to make the perfect pass and take some of the double coverage off of his favorite target Crumpler. After watching the game, I am more in favor of bringing TO in here unless we can hit the jackpot in the off-season. Jenkins and White can be decent 2nd or 3rd option but they do not put any fear in defenses. The lack of a big play receiver just give defenses the freedom to target Vick and make him eat them throwing to his 2nd string recieving staff.
  7. I think his rep as a major headcase and his clashes with Coach Williams at Maryland has a lot to do with a team not giving him a chance
  8. That would be a nice pick-up. I forgot all about him since the season started. I have to bet he is on someone's developmental league team. I just can't believe a guy with his talent is out of work right now.
  9. The Nets probably will trade McInnis in a heartbeat but they have to get an all-star in return for Jefferson.
  10. This is a impossible trade but..... I will go to the bottom line of what the Hawks will get in this trade. As much as I like Marbury, because he is a ex-yellowjacket, he has not proven in the years in the NBA he can make a team better. He has pretty much alienated his teammates throughout the years. We need a pure pg who looks to get thewhole team involved instead of a shoot first pg.
  11. That brings an interesting question, "What is the Hawks most pressing need, a pg or a big man." Our scoring and assists are up, but we can not stop people in the paint.
  12. This is the number one reason why you need to drop them from the elite of the NBA. This is not just a bad game. This team can not or will not play defense.
  13. I was watching TNT when Magic made the comments. I am sure when the media told Artest about it to get a rise out of him they made it more malicious than what it was... The one thing Artest needs to keep in mind is Magic knows how the NBA works and when hey get tired of your sh*t, they will find a way to ease you out. ie Rodman
  14. This guy does not know when to keep his mouth shut. Here is the latest article which will surely bring some heat to Artest http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10548961/
  15. The one thing that sticks out is ownership was about to fire Woody and BK convince them to let him stay, but the rest of the article is good PR for the Hawks. web page
  16. The reason I am asking is because there have been some speculation why Artest had a change of heart. It is believed he and his agent have heard rumors of teams involved in a possible trade for him.
  17. Didn't the NBA addressed during the off-season about players getting traded to teams they didn't want to play on? ie.... the Walker trade from the Hawks last year and Payton would not report and force a buyout of his contract.
  18. We still will need a pg. Let me ask you this...How will a Mid Level Exception factor into the CAP
  19. Damn Doc...I don't think anyone is going to come close
  20. Quote: Bulls really swindled the Knicks on the Curry deal. You're not lying....I am so glad BK did not listen to me because I admit I was one of the one who supported Curry coming to Atlanta initially until he walked out during his recruiting trip here
  21. The Babcocks will get ran out of another country with trading Bosh for that headache
  22. I am not sure on the numbers but they have to be careful because Chandler took a chunk out of the payroll and he is not living up to making that kind of money. Because Al is not a big rebounder or defender it's unlikely they will go after him. They will need a PF who can bring a lot more to the table than scoring.
  23. Quote: That is odd since Chicago will be way under the cap and be able to easily sign him in the offseason. They spent all that money on Chandler in the off-season and it seems like they might have took a big hit on the Cap and may still need a big man this off-season
