One thing I don't understand is how Ferry could shut down a statue. If the owner of the team wants it and foots the bill, the GM who works for the owner should have nothing to do with it. Was Gearon wanting to use basketball operations money for the statue?

It would be a huge hit in defense, but I can imagine a rotation with Teacgue/Schröder, Korver, Allen, Milsap and Horford. You can't double anyone. Space for days. you could even sub DeMarre for Korver and still keep the spacing.

I'm on record as saying I think there will be conditions on the purchase of the Hawks. I don't think Koonin and Bud go anywhere. I think Danny gets to come back because they are winning so much. Sports talk radio and the blogosphere are lit up with compliments of Ferrys work since we hit 12 games in a row. Mike Bell asked Koonin outright on Friday. Depending on the group and where the Hawks finish I give him at least a 60% chance of returning. Winning cures all ills.

I think this is our biggest ASG concern. Coach Bud with a bunch of All-Stars is the best hope we can have for attracting stars in the future (at least until we know the new ownership).

The new owner will want SOMETHING, the question is what. I think the faster the sale goes down the better. The new owner gets all the pub at the end of the season with no real input. A win win. If it happens after the season, there will be firings. Koonin, Ferry and Bud need to stay.

I'll ask some of the DC United people I know about them. What I can say already is that they've let the team meander along because the financial part of playing MLS games in RFK has hurt them. But they've got a new stadium on the way and they win when the money is right.
