  1. Funny thing was, as the camera was focusing on Mitchell going nuts someone darted behind the bench and the camera jerked to follow. In my mind, the players were about to roll onto the court into a brawl. Turned out, it was just a medical person running to the scene. It fooled the camera man too. zbo
  2. I agree with 'phish's comments. If you want to be taken seriously, grammar and spelling are important. Everyone calls it a "typo" when they screw up. The ability to review your work for errors before you submit should not be lost on a college student. Even before reading 'phish's response, your mistakes gave me an 'impression' that I'm sure you would rather not send to B.L. if you expect a response of any value. zbo
  3. Wow. I've been quite critical of Smoove when he stinks it up. However, when you are the best athlete on the floor, taking it to the rim and getting layups is just what we want. His superior athleticism allows him to do just that (if not that, I guess you just want him to fill the lane on fast breaks?) and he needs to continue to drive hard and finish. We're talking layups here. He's not missing them nor should he. zbo
  4. I think that if anyone should be traded, it should be Smoove or JJ. Not because of performance, but they are the most marketable and could fetch what is needed to make this a complete team. I'm sure that goes against the grain of what most casual fans think. However, if Smoove is traded for a center/backup pg then Horford can move to his best position at PF. If JJ is traded for a center/pg/filler, Marvin could slip into the SG position and Smoove could be the slashing (maybe one day) SF that he needs to be and Horford could again fall into his natural position at PF. Unless management REALLY thinks that Horford is the solution at center long term, it only makes sense to consider making a move of this nature. zbo
  5. LOL. Walter, I read your posts and I think of a conversation that my wife had with me: "Just because you are usually the most intelligent person in the room doesn't mean you should prove it constantly at their expense. People resent you for that and sometimes you are a tough pill to swallow." It took me awhile to truy understand that she was 100% correct, but I'm a better person because of that introspection. Negativity, cynicism, and skepticism are not attractive attributes and contaminate our environment more than we realize. Walter, I think that most of what you say has a lot of logic and reason behind it....but I still have to clinch my teeth to get through most of your posts. Zbo
  6. Quote: Quote: No reason why Solomon Jones can't be a significant contributor off the bench if he puts on some weight. The guy is a first class athlete. 6'10 with almost a 40" vert is pretty sick. Harold Miner was a pretty spectacular athlete. We saw how his career turned out... What a jackazz comment to make. What significance is Harold Miner to this conversation? Because he's an athlete who didn't meet expectations? There's hundreds of players you could insert there for that expert analysis. Obviously Solo showed more than just athleticsm and was impressive in spurts with his shooting and shot blocking. He could really be an asset if he develops and gets thicker. Zbo
  7. Quote: I honestly think people want us to make a move just for the sake of making one. Who exactly can we trade for that will have a significant role? The core of this team is fine. This veteran leadership angle is overrated considering Marvin and Smoove are about to be vets. The "raw" rookies we brought in are ready to contribute. Bingo
  8. Quote: Chillz didn't bring it every game during the 2006-2007 season. He did have some moments or 'bright spots', but too often he disappeared from games. Plus, he was often passive offensively while going to the basket. He does have an ugly shot, and he isn't very explosive or aggressive and it works against him.. I disagree with that assessment. Chill is a maximum effort guy. He is constantly moving and uses his excellent BBIQ to get his points. Now he isn't a creator and depends on others to get him the ball in scoring situations, so maybe that is a factor in him looking 'passive', as you say. But I think he is knocked far too often because 'most of his baskets are layups'. Well maybe that points to his limited offense, but I think it is also a credit to him being a savvy player that he is able to get open and get those easy points so often. Makes you wonder how many more uncontested layups (and many times in a half court set!) he could get if we had a skilled passing PG. Zbo
  9. In some pre-draft coverage, Bill Russell and Bill Walton were talking to Oden as they road in a car. Russell made the point that most rebounds take place below the rim. So no matter how tall you are or high high you can jump, there are other factors that determine who gets to the ball. Zbo
  10. I agree. Sekou really hasn't shown me much. I expect a little more insight and inside info from him, and it just hasn't been there. He's on the outside looking in just like us. Zbo
  11. Buzzard: Wow, talk about coming from WAYYYY out of left field. Get a grip, man. So, because he has a different definition of 'superstar' than you (very subjective opinion, right?) then he has no credibility and can't relay information from someone on the inside? Now that's just plain silly. The point is not about the Clippers (for whom you have some vested interest apparently and are way too defensive). He was making the point to say that it was someone with MORE star quality than Elton Brand (or Gasol). Zbo
  12. Quote: When have I put down posters this month or even last, never, check my recent post history it will show you I haven't put no one down. And is what I say no true, just answer that question, if you can't prove it, LEAVE. You misunderstand. Your insults are not about putting others down. Listen clostly, and wrap your brain around this. It is insulting when you try to convince other intelligent people that you have some type of superior skill in predicting what will never be an exact science or something that anyone can be sure of for years down the road. Even the people whose livelihoods depend on making the 'informed assumptions' (that's what it all boils down to) will tell you the same. When you say you have a "96% success rate" and expect fans on this board to swallow it....that's insulting. Very silly indeed. zbo
  13. Your stock is basically hype, once again I don't fall for NO stock crap, there a reason why I'm 96% in the field, if I was like any of you guys or nbadraft.net I would be 57% and that getting lucky at times. 72.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot. Don't think that your made up statistics add to your 'credibility'. You aren't any more special than the rest of us when predicting this crap. It's fine that you believe Wright will be a star. No problem whatsoever with that opinion. But this is far from an exact science and you keep insulting people who are a lot more intelligent than you (I have a special skill at predicting intelligence...87.4% of the time I'm dead on) by saying things like "I already know the outcome".... All you have is a strong opinion, nothing else. And that is fine. But don't try to be something you are not.
  14. MikeWilksBooth is just an immature teenager trying to fit in. We haven't exactly set a good example for him on this board with all the bashing and ridicule among ourselves. Hopefully he will settle down and figure out that he doesn't have to be an a$$ to get his point across. I think he could make a contribution as he seems articulate and thoughtful. However that teenage 'knowitall' arrogance akin to nbasuperstar40 will find him on 'ignore' by many if he doesn't show a little humility more often. Zbo
  15. I'm holding out hope that BK is leaking his interest in the bigs to attract offers from as many teams as possible. If they think we are taking Conley, that limits our trade leverage. If we don't get the deal we want, then take Conley at #3. However, BK's history suggests otherwise I'm afraid. Zbo
  16. Quote: Woodson said the Hawks are much less concerned that their point guard score than that he run the team and be a consistent defensive presence. If one believes that Conley and Critt are much better defenders than Law (I do), then that should give us an idea into their draft philosophy. In fact, defense is what scares me the most about drafting Law. Zbo
  17. I'm not so sure Diesel. This kid looks to be very strong and with good reach at that. I mean, he's not 6'4" 210, but he's not mighty mouse at the PG position either. I think he is a superior athlete and his perimeter defense will be a godsend. I'm not really worried about what may happen to him in the low post. That's really just nitpicking for a PG. Zbo
  18. From everything I've seen, defense is the one thing people seem to dismiss when comparing the two. Correct me if I'm wrong (I could be), but isn't Law significantly less of a defensive player than Conley (and maybe Critt)? Zbo
  19. I've been hoping all along that BK was faking that interest in the forwards to give the other GMs an opportunity to knock his socks off with a deal. If not, I would hope that we select Conley and find away to get Haywood/Pryz or sign Mags for the center position. BPA at #11. Zbo
  20. I don't think it's that they thought you were lying as much as possibly saying those things tongue in cheek. I couldn't decide myself whether you meant it as a joke or you were serious. But thanks for sharing. It is very interesting! Zbo
  21. I know what your saying. That's the wackiness of it all. We can sit here and rationalize it out and pick it apart...but in the end, BK could do anything....anything. Zbo
  22. MrHonline, you would take Noah with 6? I'm with Exodus. CV, Conley at 6, BPA at 11. Zbo
  23. Quote: Jack/Noah/CV You mean Conley/Noah/CV, right? He's who your using #6 for. Zbo
  24. For arguments sake, let's assume that we trade Shell for Haywood. Would you rather have Yi and Jack (#3 and trade) or CV and Conley (trade and #6) to go along with Haywood as our offseason acquisitions? Zbo
