SG: Joe Johnson: Self Explainitory... seriously, who's gonna take this spot away from him? Salim? SF: Marvin Williams: As bad as he's been, he's still gotta be the guy, otherwise BK looks like a fool. (In a perfect world, K-Durant will take this spot come summer) PF: Josh Smith: He was looking beastly before he went down. I expect more of the same when he gets back. C: Solomon Jones: This kid could really be something. He's raw, but he's an athletic freak with legit Center height, and a knack for swatting the ball. Does that make Shelden Williams the sixth man? Sure does, with Chillz and Zaza filling out the 8 man rotation.

  3. Quote: Durant is incredible. If it weren't for Oden, this would be the Durant draft. He would have been number 1 the last two years, IMO. Amen. He's gonna be better than Oden, I personally think...
  4. Quote: Quote: Quote: Actually, statistically that is incorrect. Actually it is correct. There is a 35.8% chance that the team with the worst record will pick 4th. And basically this draft is about Oden. I am not on the Noah bandwagon and i haven't seen the other guys so I am not buying the idea that it would be worthwhile to tank a season to get a 25% chance at Oden So, a 64.2% chance of a top 3 pick. I'm not sold on Noah either, but Durant is considered by many to "have the potential to be a superstar." Sounds familiar, eh? I haven't seen anyone else yet either, but until I have my mind changed, I see it as a 25% to get a sure-fire star as well. I assume you were comparing Durant to Marvin? you wouldn't do that if you've seen him play. he's already, IMO, the best player in college ball. he's gonna be a superstar, and soon.
  5. Someone needs to hurt him. did y'all here what he said about the Bible a while back? He said he thinks he should be in it.
  6. Quote: i like West also....the word for him is Solid...he can do it all...not a liabilty on one particular thing (lue-defense, claxton-shooting). Exactly. He's the definition of quality. he'll never be a star, but he'd be perfect to start is a team already had a star. *cough* JJ *cough*
  7. I live in the Boston area, and let me be the first to say that Telfair is not the anything we're looking for. all he does is charge the basket, and throw up a random layup. The kid is trash. I would like to get West, though. he's a smart solid point guard who can shoot, pass, and play some decent D.
  8. Quote: Luckily my seats were near one of the main exit arteries. I'm sure the tens of fans leaving the Rose Garden enjoyed my craftsmanship. I had to politely resist the urge to air hump while my sign was propped up in the glass directly above the "EXIT" sign. ROFL
  9. Quote: I'm a big Salim fan but I'd probably do that deal, just because he won't get PT once all of our players return. We badly need a pg who can set up our teammates. I doubt Portland does this though. How old is Sergio? I'd do it to, in a second, and I think they would too. They already have a great PG in Jack, so i think they'd be willing to deal Sergio for Salim. PS, Sergio's 20 years old.
  10. I love McRoberts. that kid is gonna be beastly one day. the white C-Webb, if you will. That said, I'd pick hibbert over him, for us. Hibbert is like 7-2 (or something like that), and crazy strong. he'd fit us better, but I still love josh.
  11. ^ maybe so, but the difference is that Marvin went to UNC, and learned from one of the best coaches in the NCAA for a year. smoove didn't. so marvin is definately goind to be farther along in development.
  12. PS, is Smoove the one covering Morrison? whoever is, is owning him.
  13. Anyone else think that King Solomon could be the real deal? I'm starting to love this kid. He's like Ty Thomas, only cheap.
  14. Zaza with 6 boards already. damn...
  15. Just wondering what you all expect of Marvin, once he gets back. We need him desperately right now, and I'm hoping he can throw some stuff down. I'm expecting something like: 14 PPG 7 RPG 2 APG 1 SPG 1 BPG how about you guys?
  16. For the most part, I agree with you guys about playing inside. But I think its worth mentioning something about the three point shot: lets say a play is 3 for 6 from inside. that's 6 points, on 50% shooting. I think we can all agree that 50 is good. Now, lets say that that same player is also 2 for 6 from 3pt. that's 6 points, on 33% shooting, but the player still only took 6 shots. so, in essence, if a player can shoot 33% from beyond the arc, he can be just as effective as a player that is shooting 50% on the inside. My coach always taught that, for an offense to be at its best, they need to be balenced. for example, I'm going to use thesheedera's football analagy. Why are our falcons struggling right now? there are a lot of reasons, but one huge one is our one-dimentional offense. Because of our lack of a passing game, our team can't run effectively, because teams can put 8 or 9 guys in the box, without the threat of getting burned on a pass. the same applies to basketball. I think that, if we try to go inside too much, we get owned, because teams can pack it in, and shut us down. so, i think that our offensive system, as far as balence goes, is fine. however, I'd much rather see someone other than smoove take the threes for us.
  17. that's such a sick website... I love that thing. nice 18th season, too.
  18. Are you talking about Acie Law? if so, he's a shoot first guard too, so I'd pass.
  19. ^ well put, man. And, its not like JJ isn't willing to defer to his teammates in the clutch. but the rest of the team would rather watch the JJ show in the 4th quarter...
  20. Quote: Quote: His Stat Line: 14.6 PPG 7.5 RPG 2.4 APG 2 BPG 1.4 SPG .39 %FG .33 3PT% He is 6-9 245 and shooting threes just like Antoine Walker. It's not all about stats, he has good stats for a 21 year old even though his field goal needs to and will improve. But what i am saying is what GoDAWGS said is that he makes some stupid ass game decisions and some bad ass shot selection. He is 6-9 245 crazy athletic and standing aroung perimeter like he is a 40 year old that has back problems. I am not sure if this is Woody's fault or his, all i know is that he needs to stop shooting threes and go inside on every play. Josh Smith's rookie year was the best year in his career. He didn't know how to shoot, but he was more agressive and he was busting his ass of, getting offensive rebounds, dunking on people. Woody is plain stupid, Why does he give a guy 51 minutes and Shelden only plays 18 min. He as a coach needs to do waaay better sharing the minutes between players. Smoove would play waay better if he sees that Shelden is taking his minutes. I'm not disagreeing with you on that. I totally agree that he shouldn't be taking those threes. but you you gotta understand is that the jump shot is something new to him, and therefore something he percieves as flashy and shiny. think of him as a kid with ADD, that just got a new toy. The jumper is his new toy, and he loves it. But, just like the kid, he'll grow out of it soon. Or woody will get him some ritalin.... either way.
  21. What I don't get is why people are trashing him so much this year? His Stat Line: 14.6 PPG 7.5 RPG 2.4 APG 2 BPG 1.4 SPG .39 %FG .33 3PT% thats not a bad stat line by any stretch of the imagination. other than his shot selection, which will come (he's just developed a jumper, so it'll take him a while to figure out when to use it.), I don't see what's so horrible about his game....
  22. Quote: Andre Igoudala is only about 22-23 and playing better than him. Luol Deng is only 22 and playing better than him. Josh Childress is 23 and playing better than him. Wow.... um, no? JJ's been playing at MVP level so far. how are Deng, Iggy and Chillz playing even remotely close to better than him? and how is Smoove playing like a rookie? other than his threes, he's been pretty damn good: 16 and 13 last night.
  23. no..... another OT game. these are starting to get old.
